Hello pals. Welcome to week 334 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Sonic and Spike wiv Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Lets see wot we gots dis week:

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sonic did win with the Beatles and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. They say Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend and who wants them more than a Material Girl and here she is Madonna.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie….our winner this week is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds…..and this is of course the 50th anniversary of the release of St Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band…well in honour of that anniversary our link is the perfect pop song…and one that did not even make it on to the album proper…but was always considered a smart of the Pepper Project….its The Beatles (again!) with penny Lane…

@skye613

Congrats to Sonic, great song. So let's talk about diamonds. " We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky". Her names not Lucy, but Rihanna sure can sing about the shinny baubles in the sky!

@terenceterrier
Larst week pals Sonic n Spike winned wiv "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" by The Beatles. Iz gonna give a nifty body swerve to da LSD druggy route for a linky n plump for da fact there were diamonds in da sky. Dis be in da lyrics of da linky I select wot be "Diamonds" by Rihanna .

@djladylexie
Lucy is the Sky Wiv Diamonds.I heard it was inspired by Julian Lennon drawin wot he dun but also that it is about LSD wot be a psychedelic drug. Some of the world's most amazin artists are supposed to have used psychedelics to open up the doors of their mind happarently. I can quite believe it too! Well, one such was Jim Morrison from The Doors. I fink I gonna give you probly one of the best Doors numbers ... Riders On The Storm.

Hello pals. Welcome to week 333 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv We're All Mad Ere. Lets see wot we gots dis week:

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was a song inspired by Alice in Wonderland and that set us thinking about other songs inspired by literature and authors…and so this week our linky is a song about a famous American Poet…It is “Sylvia Plath” by Ryan Adams…..  "I wish I had a Sylvia Plath/Busted tooth and a smile/And cigarette ashes in her drink/The kind that goes out and then sleeps for a week,” goes Adams’ an ode to the Boston-born writer’s free-spiritedness.

@cloonfourmegan
Well done Maggie for winning last week with Cheshire Kitten. Another feline group was Atomic Kitten. They did cover Blondie's The Tide is High. We prefer the original so here it is!

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie winned wiv SJ Tucker n "We're All Mad Here " wot be abowt Alice in Wonderland. In da most recent film made abowt Alice in Wonderland da Mad Hatter woz played by Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp played slide guitar on a track in da Oasis album "Be Here Now" . Dat track woz "Fade In-Out" n I pick it as my linky dis week.

@sonikebt
Well done @MaggieTKat for the winning link "We're all mad here" by Cheshire Kitten. We have chosen a song inspired by Alice in Wonderland - "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" by The Beatles.

@djladylexie
Nice one Mags! It's a mad world all right. Oh ... haha so ere it is Mad World from Tears for Fears.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Maggie ...................... dus be Sonic ..............................  ! Yay! You choosin next week me pal.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Thirty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 332 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Tel wiph Jefferson Airplane and Somebody To Love. Lets see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Sir with Jefferson Airplane's Don't you need somebody to love. The song was on the ground breaking album Surrealistic Pillow. The other outstanding song from that album is White Rabbit with Alice (from Wonderland) in a leading role. SJ Tucker wrote a song about Alice and the Cheshire Cat, "We're all Mad Here". (One of my favorite quotes from the book). P.s. Mum has horrible memories of her ex trying to sing White Rabbit like Grace. *shudder*.

@diamondbertie
Well done Terence, your choice Jefferson Airplane, live at Woodstock 1969. Also at Woodstock was Joe Cocker among his many songs there was "I Shall Be Released", that is my choice.

@claptonterrier
last week our winner was a song by Jefferson Airplane…of course Jefferson is the name of an American President…Homas Jefferson….so this week we have been looking for songs about presidents…and we have selected this little ditty by They Might Be Giants…its called James K Polk….who was the 11th President of of the United States….a song they said was made to convert the most boring information they could think of.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sir Terence did win with Jefferson Airplane. A famous line from the film Airplane is 'Don't Call Me Shirley' and a famous Shirley is Miss Bassey. Here she is singing about History Repeating Itself.

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Sir Tel for winning last week with Jefferson Airplane and Somebody to Love. I has learnded that Jefferson Airplane did headline the Isle of Wight festival in 1968 and as we is just heading into festival season, my linky this week starts there. Annuver act wot also appeared at the 1968 festival was Smile wot was formed by Brian May in 1968 and also featured Roger Taylor. As we know, these peeps went on to form Queen with Freddie Mercury and John Deacon. Funnily enough, Queen also had a song called Somebody to Love. So there you have it, a twofer linky dis week.

@djladylexie
Jefferson Airplane what a funny name! One of their uvva hits was a song White Rabbit what is definitely about drugs I finks. Well that and Alison in Wonderland which me now firmly believes is some weir psychedelic book way ahead of its time. So in tribute to Caroll an well his very very interestin imagination I give you I Am The Walrus from The Beatles who may also have been influenced by the odd drug or two :).

An da winner as chosen by ............... Tel ...................... dus be ..............................  Magggie! Yay! You choosin next week me pal.

Ere wot Terence said:   Fanks yoo for da interesting  linkies my pals. Wot great imaginayshuns yoo all haz. I only knew two of da songs dis time n strangely enuff I nearly used one of dem myself larst week. When I pick a winner I try to go wiv both track I like combined wiv a clever linky. So my winner be "We're All Mad Here" by SJ Tucker.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Thirty First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 331 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Skye wiph Downtown from B52s. Lets see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done with "Downtown".  The lyrics say to listen to a bossa nova and soon you will be dancing. Here is a classic bossa nova by Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66, "Mas Que Nada".

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Skye won wiv B52s covering Downtown. We liked the B52 collaboration with R.E.M. Shiny Happy People. But we pick R.E.M. s great Everybody Hurts ... take comfort in your friends

@diamondbertie
I remember Petula Clarke's version at that time, the song referred to towns, bright lights and people.  Going on my time machine I found San Francisco by Scott McKenzie, I visited this magical city many times and this song takes me back

@sonikebt
Downtown by B52s was a great winning link from @syke613 . We have gone uptown this week with our link, also with a cover version. Our link is "Uptown funk" by ..... the Minions

@terenceterrier
Larst week da linky woz "Downtown " by the B 52s. Their name be taken from an aircraft wot be a big bomber. So I look for annuva group wiv a name connected to aviation n choose Jefferson Airplane. For my linky I choose "Someone To Love" and use da live vershun from Woodstock 1969.

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Skye wiv da win last week wiv da B52s version of Downtown. The B52s did also cover Paperback Writer by The Beatles for a car commercial, but to be honest we does prefer da original so we move back from covers to original this week...

@djladylexie
Down town or from Petula Clark. Lovely song that. My linky is Bananas. What!? Petula Clark featured on the compilaton album Nostalgia Goes Bananas. Petula Clark and Harry Belafonte sang a song together called On The Path Of Glory where, ridiculously, a visiting executive from Chrysler objected to their "interracial touching" whereupon they ensured all other takes of the song were destroyed to assure that the touch woud be included! Now that really is bananas! But me linky doesn't stop there coz I am sure you know of the great Harry Belafonte hit song Banana Boat Song. So there we go - Bananas!

An da winner as chosen by ............... Skye ...................... dus be .............................. Sir Tel! Yay! You choosin next week me pal.

Ere wot Skye said:  Great links all! In this time that we are living in, I believe that Love is the only thing that is going to save us. Links #3, 5 and 6 all had ma paws tapping. This week we all need somebody to love. Winner is #5. And with a nod to Tucker, it's live!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on Monday 12th June 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee.
