E T be a film abowt aliens wot visit earth ( not scary ones) so I gonna have the film main soundtrack by John Williams as my linky.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was the Eve of Destruction by Jeff Wayne….that is a pessimistic sounding song…particularly in view of world events…so this week we are taking an optimistic view of the coming troubles with another Wayne…this time it is Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips…and their song “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt1”…

@skye613
Congrats to Bertie! Seems we are on a roll with links about War. " The  Eve of the War " was a song from the musical version of The War of the Worlds. On this album, Justin Hayward sang some vocals. Best known perhaps for his work with the Moody Blues, Justin asked on Question" why do we never get an answer to hate and death and war. My linky this week "Question" .

'@maggietkat

Well done Bertie with Eve of War. There seems to be a war in the U.S. between police, shooting victims and subsequent riots. Here is Prince with “Baltimore”.

@djladylexie
Well done Bertie. Ok dis be a long one but worf it me finks. So, our linky does be wartime sweetheart Vera Lynn. What the dog? Well let me tell you. First we have War of the Worlds. One star in that musical was Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy fame. Phil was married to Caroline Crowther, daughter of comedy star Leslie Crowther. Lesie Crowther had a radio show called The League of Ovaltineys. The show was on a pirate radio station called Radio Luxemboug. One star who, after being snubbed by the BBC for her 'out-dated music' who became a big hit with Radio Luxembourg was Vera Lynn. Vera Lynn was a war-time sweetheart and a wonderful singer who provided morale to the men and women who suffered during WWII. So there you go, Vera Lynn, war-time sweetheart singing We'll Meet Again. Boom!

@sonikebt
Well done Bertie for your winning link “Eve of the War” by Jeff Wayne. There has been a wee bit of war and destruction over the last couple of weeks. War is an expensive business but “Peace is Free” - Black Stone Cherry.

Ere wot Bertie said: I've given a lot of thought to the list, all brilliant choices which made it so difficult to choose. In the end I kept going back to Waynes World and their hilarious version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Thank you whoever chose that for making me laugh, the state of the world as it is we need to laugh.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Forty Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 346 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Tel wiph Eve of Destruction by Barry MgGuigan.  Let's see wot we gots this week:

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence did win wiv Barry McGuire and Eve of Destruction. Well if you are going to have destruction you need a Demolition Man so I gives you Mr Sting and Da Police.

@diamondbertie
Terence won with Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire brilliant choice. I can't believe it 36 years since the release, track one "Eve of the War" is my choice. The War of the Worlds (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) by Jeff Wayne

@claptonterrier
last week Sir Terence won wit a song by Barry McGuire…now we have been struggling with this all week as we just kept hearing Barry McGuigan in our head….Barry McGuigan was a famous boxer from the 1980s…so this week our linky is The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel…

@skye613
My linky is a tune that Mom has always associated with "Eve of Destruction" for some reason. They both resonate the same tone, both from the 60's and she was a bit of a wild child at that point. Pssst, don't tell!

@djladylexie
This is about destruction. Many people over the years haven been terrified of a nuclear explosion and destruction of da planet. I like this video from Kate Bush wot as an interestin approach on this concept.

@sonikebt
Well done Sir Tel for winning the link with "Eve of Destruction". Now Eve had a pal called Adam who was a bit of a "Prince Charming" - Adam & the Ants.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Tel ...................... dus be  ..............................  Bertie. Yay.

Ere wot Tel said: Fanks pals for da 6 linkies. Decishuns Decishuns . Dis be hard. Duss I carefully evaluate as to how closely da linky follows mine or duss I frow cawshun to da wind n pick da track or da video I likes da best ? *serious judging ears* I chooses linky numba 2 as da winner "The Eve Of the War" from "The War of the Worlds" album by Jeff Wayne after linky 2. Well dun!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Forty Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 345 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner me wiph Games Without Frontiers by Peter Gabriel. Let's see wot we gots this week:

@diamondbertie
Well done winning with your choice Games Without Frontiers by Peter Gabriel, very topical in the troubled times we are living in.  My spontaneous thought went to the movie Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, this film caused such a stir at the time. My choice is The Glory Of Love from the said film.

@maggietkat
Well done Lexie with Games Without Frontiers. First thing I thought of for a link is go with Frontier. With the passing of Walter Becker, Steely Dan is on my mind. So here is a song from Donald Fagan's first solo album  (The Nightfly), New Frontier.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was Games Without Frontiers….this reminds us of the organisation Medecins Sans Frontiers …or Doctors Without Borders as it is known in English….doctors spend their whole day diagnosing patients …..and some of their patients can be…well…impatient….so this week our linky is Robert Palmer singing “Bad Case of Loving yOu” which has the lyrics…

… Doctor, doctor, give me the news
I've got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I've got a bad case of lovin’ you,,,

@terenceterrier
Larst week sooper dooper DJ Miss Lexie winned da chainy wiv Peter Gabriel n "Games Without Frontiers " . Appawrently  da songy 's lyrics have been interpreted as a commentary on war and internashunal diplomacy being like children's games. Da video I wotched of it shows lotsa pix of nuclear or atomic bombs exploding n peeps praktisin survival drills. Very apt choice wiv current US / North Korea situation. So for my linky I gonna select one of my favrit songs on dis issue "Eve of Destruction " by Barry McGuire. *retires to concrete underground bunker for nap*

@skye613
So we has to linky to Lexies winning tune " Games Without Frontiers ". Great tune. Gonna stick with gaming! Have always loved this song. This version is great, live and with Melissa. Youtube done something strange so hope this comes through. " Foolish Games" What you say? No, Dis not a foolish game!

An da winner as chosen by ............... me dad  ...................... dus be  ..............................  Terence (again!). Yay.

Ere wot me dad said: Oh well very good links as always. I am torn between 3 and 4 both very good ... hmmmmm ok 4 pipped it.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on Monday 18th September 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Forty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 344 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Skye wiph Everyfink is Awesome from the Lego. Let's see wot we gots this week:

@diamondbertie
Well done Skye with winning last week with your choice of Everything is Awesome from the Lego Movie, in keeping with youth my choice this week is Joyce Grenfell monologue Nursery School.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winning song was Everything is Awesome….but this week in music everything is decidedly not awesome as Walter Becker has died…the driving force behind Steely Dan…so this week our link is a tribute to the great man…..and we have selected Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan.

@maggietkat
Well done Skye with Forever Autumn, the Lego jingle. I had to stay with the Lego theme. The self professed loudest band in England had a, um, hit. Here is Spinal Taps' "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You" as performed by Legos.

@cloonfourmegan
Skye did win with Everything is Awesome from the Lego film. Lego is as we all know plastic bricks. Kate Nash made an album called Made of Bricks and this is the most famous song from it Foundations.

@terenceterrier
Clever Pal Syke gives us da linky "Everything Is Awesome" from the Lego movie. Annuva werd for Awesome be Wonderful. So afta dat nifty bit of pawwerk I select "Wonderful Life" by Hurts as my linky .( high paw to da dancers in da video - I dussnt do wet ).

@sonikebt
Well done Skye for winning with "Everything is Awesome" which was sung by the identical twins Tegan & Sara Quin. Our link this week is from the best singing identical twins in the business - "I'm gonna be (500 miles)" by the Proclaimers.

@djladylexie
Skye winned wiph Everything is Awsome from the Lego. Lego began life in the workshop of a man called Christiansen in Denmark who started making wooden toys in 1932. Lego comes from the Danish phrase 'leg godt' which means play well. One fing wot I am very good at is playing well, as I am sure me uvva pals dus too. Some games are fun, others are quite scary and the people who play them dust not care what the end result will be. Peter Gabriel sang about it so me gives you - Games Without Frontiers.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Skye ...................... dus be  ..............................  oh flippin flop ....... is me again!.

Ere wot me Skye said: Great tunes! Have to go with linky #7. Love  the way you got there!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on Monday 11th September 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee.
