@skye613
DJ Lexie scores! Staying simple & easy this week. The tune to link to is the theme to the movie " The Untouchables". Well, if you are single & untouchable, you might be Eminem! " Untouchable ".

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie winned wiv da feem toon from da film The Untouchables. Dis film woz based on real happenings involving da FBI special investigayshuns team and da well known criminal Al Capone who woz involved in booze related crimes during da US prohibishun back in da 1920's. So for my linky I gives yoo a Michael Jackson live vershun of "Al Capone".

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Dame Lexie did win wiv Untouchables Theme Tune by Ennio Morricone. He did also write theme tune for the film Bugsy which we think starred Warren Beatty as Bugsy. But we prefer the musical of Bugsy Malone and this song Fat Sams Grand Slam.

@maggietkat
Well done Dame L with the theme for the untouchables. This movie was based on the life of prohibition agent Eliot Ness. Ness busted up all da joints in Chicago n Cleveland. I tought about da music in doz joints. I'se modernizin' one of da songs by Fats Waller, sung by Leon Redbone who is a man of mystery.

@claptonterrier
Hello Lady Lexie….last week our winner was the theme tune from The Untouchables….one person who was less concerned with being untouchable was Prince…and this week our linky is his song Kiss…he’s like our extra time and our…kiss!

An da winner as chosened by ..... dad .......... dus be ................................... Megan! Yay! Well done Megan, you be choosin next time.

Lexie's Chain; The Three Hundred and Sixty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 363 of  Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Terence wiv From Russia With Love from Matt Monroe.. Let's see what we got this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with ”From Russia with Love”. James Bond was a spy who always got his man which makes him a superhero in my book. I remembered one of my favorite telly superheros, Batman. This is the tv theme from the 60’s.

@claptonterrier
Our winner last week was a song from a film …a song written especially for that film…so this week we decided to ave as our link a song that was not written for a film but which eventually became a film….there are a surprising number of these in fact…but our selection is the song Jack & Dianne by John Mellencamp …this song about a couple of high school sweethearts was written in 19882 but the movie inspired by it was not released util 30 years later in 2012 ….the song does not even appear in the movie…!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence won wiv From Russia wiv Love sung by Matt Monroe. Our favourite Monroe is Marilyn and our favourite jewels are diamonds and they are a dogs best friend apart from noms obvs!

@skye613
Based on Sir Sean Connery's recommendation, Terence did win with a super tune " From Russia With Love ". Connery is an avid proponent of Scottish independence as is another well-known artist, Stuart Murdock, the frontman for Belle and Sebastion.  As evidenced by the vote on September 18, 2014, neither was in sync with "The Party Line".

@limeoscar
So the pawsome Sir T gave us Matt Monroe with the Bond theme . . . coz who dusn’t love a bit of 007, right?  Well, actually, US President JFK named From Russia With Love one of his all time top ten favourite books in a Life magazine interview.  In this month in 1962 it was JFK’s inauguration & celebrated African-American  contralto, Marian Anderson, sang the National Anthem at the ceremony. Marian was an active supporter of the civil rights movement and probably best known for the Lincoln Memorial Concert (the 1939 documentary of which was preserved in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress), having been denied access to sing in public buildings because of her colour.  Here she is from that 1939 concert singing ‘My Country, ‘Tis of Thee’, a popular American patriotic anthem of the time, although you may recognise the tune.

@djladylexie
in Russia Wiv Love the Bond girl is Tatiana Romanova played by Daniela Bianchi. She also starred in a movie called O.K. Connery an Italian spaghetti spy film starring James Bond's bruvva. Interestingly the role is played by Sean Connery's actual brother - Neil Connery. The music for OK Connery was composed by Ennio Morricone. My linky dus be Sean Connery and Ennio Morricone so I give you The Untouchables Feem Toon - the movie starred Sean Connery and Morricone composed the feem toon.

An da winner as chosened by Terence dus be me! Yay! So dad dus be the choosin one next week.

Ere wot Terence said: Fanks yoo for da 6 linkies my pals. Dey be very well researched dis week I haz to say. After much deliberayshun *mutters n in da absence of food hampers* I chose linky 6 as da winner - da feem toon from The Untouchables.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 22nd January 2018 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Sixty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 362 of Dame (heehee) Lexie's Chain.Last week da dinner was Clapton wiv One Night In Bangkok from da moosical Chess. Let's see what we got this week:

@terenceterrier
Da clever little woolly chap Sir Clapton give us " One Night In Bankok" from da moosical " Chess" wot be abowt a tournament between an US n Russian Grand Master during da Cold War n a lady wot woz da manager of one but fell in luv wiv da other. There were lotsa James Bond films abowt da Cold War n da best according to Mr Sean Connery aka JB woz "From Russia With Love" . So I giving you da songy of da same name as my linky as sung by Matt Monroe.

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with “One night in Bangkok”. This song is from the Musical “Chess” and Tim Rice was the lyricist.  Rice and Elton John collaborated on the movie “The Lion King”, a perennial favorite.  Rice and John wrote several original songs and this one makes Mom dance (a truly embarrassing sight). “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King”.

@sky613
First win of 2018, what a great tune. Always makes me want to dance. " One Night in Bangkok ' was from the play Chess and sung by Murray Head. Murray Head's brother Anthony Head is also an accomplished artist. This week I linky the brothers' song, " Wish I Could Stay" from the  TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This tune was a part of the only musical episode " Once More With Feeling".

@djladylexie
You chosed One Night In Bangkok from the musical Chess. This was written by Benny and Bjorn from Abba. They is the B of Abba and Anna and Agnetha dus be the A. Shame there isn't a C then you could have your ABC, easy as 123. Oh ... wait ... there's me linky .....ABC The Jacksons!

An da winner as chosened by Clapton dus be Terence! Yay! So you dus be the choosin one next week.

Ere wot Clapton said: Hello there Miss Lexie....wow, only four links this week...it looks like the Christmas spirit (ahem) has gotten the better of our players...well, we have listened closely to each entry and we have decided to select link no.1 From Russia with Love....there is a lot to be said in favour of all our links but none of the others come recommended by Sean Connery!!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 15th January 2018 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Sixty First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 361 of Lexie's Chain.Last week da dinner was Maggie wiv Don't Cry For Me Argentina from Madonna Evita. Let's see what we got this week:

@terenceterrier
Larst week Miss Maggie winned da chainy wiv "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" sung by Madonna. Dis songy woz from da moosical writted by Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber and notable in dat it woz one of a number of his songs which were hits in their own right. Annuva such song iz "Memory " taken from his moosical "Cats" ( appawriate doncha fink since Miss Maggie be judging) and dis be my linky as sung by Elaine Paige who woz da original Grizabella in da show.

@diamondbertie
My first entry for this year La Bamba by Trini Lopez because Maggie won with Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, I wanted to stay with the South American mood.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie won wiv Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Don’t Cry for me Argentina. This musical was initially released on vinyl before the stage show with Julie Covington singing Eva Peron. Julie decided because of her politics not to take the stage role which went to Elaine Paige who ended up much more famous. Anyway here is Julie in great 70s TV series Rock Follies.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was Don’t Cry for me Argentina…this was of course a hit song from the musical Evita…our linky this week therefore is another song from musical which achieved chart success…we have chose One Night in Bangkok by Murray Head…this was from the musical Chess, co-written by Sir Tim Rice who also had a paw in Evita….it made it to the top of the charts in many countries (although only no. 12 in the UK).

@sonikebt
@MaggieTKat won the chain with “Don’t cry for me Argentina” sung by Madonna.  Argentina did win the Football World Cup in 1986 even with the controversial “Hand of God” goal by Maradona in the quarterfinal against England. Now in the good old days teams who qualified for World Cup used to record a team song. We are going to chose our favourite World Cup song “Don’t come home to soon” by Del Amitri.

@djladylexie
Maggie wunned wiv Don't Cry For Me Argentina. Me linky is Madonna! What? Did you know dat there was a parody of this song called Don't Cry For Me Marge and Tina. The song was written and perfomed by The Goodies who were a 1970's comedy trio. They were quirky and very funny (at the time). Madonna dun a song called Erotica which is also famous in da UK for a misheard line that mentions Bill Oddie (one of The Goodies). The line goes: Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, Put Your Hands All Over My Body - hehe is sposed to be Erotic, Erotic, Put Your Hands All Over My Body.

An da winner as chosened by Maggie dus be Clapton! Woop off to a good start me pal. So you dus be the choosin one next week.

Ere wot Maggie said: Amazing links that I had to thoroughly research. I have to say that musicals in general are not my preferred listening (Dad makes us..). However, I didn’t realize that One Night in Bangkok by Murray Head… was from the musical Chess, so I have to choose this. Big early MTV hit!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 8th January 2018 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!
