Well done Oscar with the acoustic version of Clapton's Layla. I thought about unplugged versions and loving something dearly.  My hometown is the best place ever! Here is a song about a hometown, John Mellencamp with “SmallTown”.

last week our winner was Layla by Eric Clapton…of course, the song was famously first recorded by Mr Clapton as part of his anonymous years as part of Derek & The Dominoes…and so this week our linky is another song by a band of famous musicians hiding their lights under a bushel….we have End of The Line by the Travelling WIlburys…or George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty as they are better known.

Last week Oscar did win wiv Eric Clapton and Layla. Now many years ago mum was on holiday in Antigua and guess who she saw in a bar. Oh yes Mr Slow Hand himself! This song was playing a lot when she was there and always reminds her of her Caribbean holiday.

Well done me pal! Love EC! Layla was first performed by Derek and the Dominos. Maybe they loved a game of dominos because dominos are black wooden blocks that have little white spots on them from 0-6. These are called pips. Gladys Knight probably enjoyed a game of dominos too after a good old sing song wiv her backing singers- The Pips.

Well done Sir T with “Here Comes the Sun”. Taking off on the sun theme, I thought about Donovan's “Sunshine Superman”. Donovan’s manager didn’t want him to play it in front of Paul McCarthy because McCarthy might nick it. Sunshine superman was released at least a year after Sgt Pepper, so it didn’t really matter that Donovan did play.

Well done again Sir T with George Harrison’s Here comes the Sun.  This was written at his mate’s house, Hurtwood Edge, when George was playing hooky as he should have been at a meeting with Apple along with the rest of The Beatles!  So they would probably be an obvious linky, but we would like to go with another song penned at Hurtwood Edge by the guitar master & owner of the house, Clapton himself (a familiar name, perhaps?). The song was inspired in part by his then unrequited love for Pattie Boyd who was the wife of George Harrison at the time!  We gives you . . . Layla, in this unplugged version which is really true to its bluesy roots.

Well done Terence with Here Comes The Sun from George Harrison. Me linky does be the word (or chant) Om. George Harrison was heavily influenced by the music, culture and spiriturality of India. A very famouns Indian, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi,  was guru to the Beatles, especially George Harrison. A Yogi is a practitioner of yoga. Yoga is a practice of mind and body working together in harmony to achieve a higher state of mind. To achieve this, practitioners of yoga often hum or chant Om, a sacred symbol of Hindusim. Om Shanti Om is also a chant that can be repeated meaning the invocation of peace over mind and body. What better way to celebrate that than a good old Bollywood number - Om Shanti Om.

Clever Oscar won last week with the Electric Light Orchestra such great choice my choice is in keeping the the theme of the sky with the Beatles and their song Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds from the album Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club. This song caused quite a furores because it was believed to promote recreational drugs namely LSD.

Last week Oscar wins for the first time (yay) with ELO and Mr Blue Sky. Jeff Lynne was key member of ELO but also other bands like the Travelling Wilburys and back in the day The Move. So we pick a great Move song which was the first song to be played on Radio 1. We gives you Flowers in the Rain!

Well done Sir Terence who last week gave us the Python’s Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, which we sung loud for Brian win leaky eyes!  It was also included in the London 2012 closing ceremony 'A Symphony of British Music’.  Immediately preceding it was ELO’s Mr Blue Sky and blue sky does always make us look on the bright side, so this dus be our linky this week.

Annuva Monty Pifon famous for his songs was Terry Gilliam. Terry Gilliam is a great movie producer and one of me favourits dus be Brazil, wot has the great theme toon err ...... Brazil! So last week’s winner was The Rutles, I Must Be In Love from Dame Megan.  Originally created as parody of The Beatles by Eric Idle & Neil Innes for a tv sketch, The Rutles went on to have hits as an actual group, with Neil providing vocals, piano and guitar.  Prior to this Neil was also a pivotal member, as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. So this week we give you our linky which does probably be their best known work: I’m the Urban Spaceman.

Larst week Lady Megan win wiv " I must be in love" by The Rutles. Eric Idle woz in that group. He be best known for being in Monty Python's Flying Circus. They made a film called "The Life Of Brian". In dat film he sing da song "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" . Dat song is often chosen to be played at funerals. Mum's younger brother Brian died in January and da funeral is in March. So for my linky I choosing the singalong vershun ( I fink from da video it woz recorded at da Royal Albert Hall / The Proms ) so yoo can all singalong for Brian.

There has been a number of mockumentaries over da years, one of me favourites dus be This is Spinal Tap.  One of their songs dus be Big Bottom.
