Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 395 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was me wiph Me Ol Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Let's see what we go dis week.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv "Me 'Ol Bamboo" wot be a song from da film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. CCBB be an Old Banger. So for my linky I looks for annuva song abowt an Old Banger in a film. Dis one be a T Bird n it be restored to its former glory in da film. For my linky I gives you " Greased Lighting" from da film Grease.

@maggietkat
Well done Dame Lexie with Me O’Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I think about bamboo I think about warm climates. There was an old calypso song by the Four Seasons about a gal in a bamboo hut. Here is “Marianne”.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you did win wiv Dick Van Dyke and Me Old Bamboo. There was also a Van Dyck wiv slightly different spelling wot did be an artist. There was a song by Don Maclean about another artist wiv Van in his name Vincent.

@limeoscar
Well done Lexie with her song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, in which the lyrics only count up to 7, did ya notice that?  Not quite 007, but then our linky isn’t quite a Bond theme either.  We’ve chosen Shirley Bassey's Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a sultry serenade of a suave, smooth & sophisticated cool dude . . . much like Lexie’s dad we’re thinking!  Alas, it was a step too far as United Artists requested a theme containing the film title, so they had Mr Jones sing Thunderball instead.  Incidentally, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical was based on a novel written by Ian Flemming and as song with Bang Bang in the title, we love this triple linky, along with this version that has iconic 60’s Thunderboll imagery to put you in the mood . . .

An da winner as chosen by the dad dust be .................................... no 4. Yay dat mean you win Oscar so you chooses next week.

Ere wot me dad said: I love a bit of Shirley and an excellent link. All were great entries.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 393 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was me wiph Lovin Spoonful from da Nashville Cats. Sorry for the delay we bin moving housey to be nearer Atlantis! Let's see what we go dis week.

@maggietkat
Well done Miss Lexi with the Loving Spoonful and “Nashville Cats”. I have a double link this week. Cats have been know to eat birds. The world has lost an incredible voice this week. Aretha Franklin. This is Aretha being very good to birdies (bad cats) with “Mockingbird”.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv "Nashville Cats" by The Lovin Spoonful. Dey also had a hit wiv "Daydream" . Dey woz a band from da 60's. Annuva band formed in dat era woz Fleetwood Mac.  A track called "  Dreams" woz on their Rumours album . My pal Tucker taught me well so I select da live vershun from 1977 as my linky.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you did win wiv Loving Spoonful and Nashville Cats. Well a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down and we give you this with Julie Andrews as the practically perfect in every way Mary Poppins.

@claptonterrier
ello Lady Lexie….last week our winner was a song by the Lovin Spoonful…..that band put out its big hits on the Kama Sutra record label….so this week we have been thinking about songs about love….this is a bit of a popular subject when it comes to pop music and the search has been driving us crazy…so we have eventually settled for our linky on Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen!….

@sonikebt
The winning song from @djladylexie was “Nashville Cats” by the Lovin’ Spoonful which is a celebration of Nashville musicianship. For our link this week we have chosen a band who, though their music, celebrated Gaelic/Scottish traditional music, history, culture and politics. The band danced their “Last Dance” at Stirling Castle this weekend when they played their final concerts. Our link this week is “Alba” by Runrig.

An da winner as chosen by me dad dus be .................................... Megan!  Yay! You be choosin next week me pal.

Ere wot dad said bowty it: Spoons .... It's obvious right? I'm going with the Mary Poppins number coz it does exactly what is says on the tin!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 27th August 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 392 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Maggie wiph Reba MacIntyre and Lights Went Out in Gogiga wiph Honey. Sorry for the delay we bin moving housey to be nearer Atlantis! Let's see what we go dis week.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was a song sung by Reba Macintyre….this lady is one of the queens of country music and like, Dolly, one of those musicians who has become known so well that she is often  referred to by only her first name…so our linky this week is by one of the very first musicians (apologies, to John, Paul, George and Ringo) to be known by one name only…and our linky is Message in a Bottle performed by ( a solo) Sting…

@terenceterrier
Larst week Miss Maggie winned wiv " The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia". It musta been pretty dark. During da day it gets dark in lotsa places if there is an eclipse. So for my hastily cobbled togeva linky I gives yoo "Eclipse" by Pink Floyd. Dis track be on their album "The Dark Side Of The Moon" . Dat always be dark - obvs.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie did win wiv Reba Macintyre and When The Lights Went Out in Georgia. In 1977 the lights all went out in New York when there was a blackout so we does pick this classic song about New York.

@djladylexie
Maggie won last week wiv Reba MacEntire an When the Lights Went Out In Georgia. Reba MacEntire is signed with MCA Nashville. Nashville is known as Music City and for it's country music. In honour of Maggie and da Nashville feem we chooses Nashville Cats  by The Lovin' Spoonful.

An da winner as chosen by Maggie dus be .................................... me! Oh dear oh dear, dad be choosin next week.

Ere wot Maggie said bowty it: Entries this week are the most difficult ever, each more clever than the next. I decided to go with the Nashville link mainly because the band was woven into the story. Okay, it didn’t hurt that both the band and song are on our top 100 list. Thank cod I was able to stop Mom from cat-erwauling. My choice is “Nashville Cats” by the Loving Spoonful.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 20th August 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 391 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Tel wiph Honey. Let's see what we go dis week.

@sonikebt
Last weeks winning link was “Honey” by Bobby Goldsboro. Honey is sweet but it can be bitter sweet coz of the calories. So our link is - “Bitter Sweet Symphony” by The Verve.

@diamondbertie
The last winner chose Honey by Bobby Goldsboro, wow ?? I know this song it’s lovely
My link has to be the Beatles song a Taste of Honey another lovely song with honey as the link.

@djladylexie
Honey by Bobby Goldsboro was an excellent song. This isn't what a Cincinnati Enquirer report said that it was frequently  considered the worst song of all time! Apparently Tony Blackburn played it constantly on his radio show when he was dumped by his wife Tessa Wyatt. This was parodied in the mockumentary Smashie and Nicey The End of an Era. They played a song over and over again on their show. That song was Bachman Turner Overdrive and You Ain't Seen Noffink Yet. Dat me linky!

@limeoscar
OMD what is Sir Tel doing to us . . . still mopping up tears in this house pals, one box was not enough!  The words of of the song did get us thinking though about a song written for the tv series Highlander for the scenes in which Connor McLeod must endure his wife Heather McLeod growing old and dying.  It has the bonus of being by the legends that are Queen, so we give you as our linky this week . . . Who wants to live forever.  It was apparently written by Brian May in the backseat of his car after seeing then 20 minute first cut of Heather’s death scene.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel won wiv Honey .. it be a  sad song but when we fink of honey we think of our favourite bear Pooh Bear and here is the Honey Song.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was a song by Bobby Goldsboro....which sounds like a stage name chosen from a list of English town names....which put is in mind of Middlesborough....and so this week our linky is an ode to the young girls of Middlesborough by the town's greatest musicL export, Chris Rea,..and the song is Stainsby Girls.

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with “Honey” sung by Bobby Goldsboro. Mum's sister had a huge crush on Bobby. The writer of the song was Bobby Russell. Russell had another hit, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia”,  a song in the Southern Gothic genre. This is Reba McIntyre's version, just wait for the twist in the last stanza.

An da winner dust be: Maggie! Yay me pal you chosin next time.

Ere wot Tel said abowt it: It woz very hard to pick dis week. So many dat I liked for different reasons . But there can only be one winner so afta reminding myself of da chainy game rules I choose linky numba 7 wot be "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" by Reba McIntire.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 6th August 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!
