Lexie's Chain: Special Edition for Lennox

Hello ma pals. We put #lexieschain  game on hold this week so we can dedicate this chain to dear Lennox who was put to sleep this week after a long battle with Belfast City Council by many dedicated fighters.

So Lennox, this is from your pals who know, even though your fight is sadly over, the battle for future dogs of BSL continues. RIP pal, rest well and know you were loved and supported all over the world.

Ma choice for this week's speshul edishun is 'Where is the Love?' by The Black Eyed Peas. I chose it cos it is about soshul injustice of all kinds. Even if you don't like rap, I fink we can all understand da meaning. Da words that espeshully jumped out at us were: 'The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug ...'  We are all so sad and angry about wot has happened to the poor boy. RIP Lennox xxxxxxxxxx

My song for Lennox is Carole King's You've Got A Friend. This for me sums up my dog-human relationship, one of total trust & loyalty. Through the #savelennox campaign, I hope Lennox's family realised they had friends all over the world who were outraged by the injustice being done to their four-legged friend & companion. Of course, the real sadness is that Lennox was not surrounded by friends at the end.

For the last two years we've been watching, praying and hoping that Belfast City Council would do the right thing. We are so sorry Lennox and family. One day this will be a moment to look back on and see that you made a great change for future dogs at risk. RIP pal.
