@skye613
Well done Sonic. So me brain went on a journey with this one. Was trying to " Make " tunes work. Not good results until I remembered alliteration. Yes! "Walking Wounded" and " Helplessly Hoping " And I know that all of us are hoping for peace in this crazy world of ours.

@maggietkat
Well done Sonic! G-ma always said, "if you can walk you can dance." So, we are going to walk right into our "Dancing Shoes" by the Faith Band.

@djladylexie
My link dus be Leonard Cohen's The Old Revolution. What? Why? Well, let me tell you. One half of EBTG duo dus be Ben Watt. In 2003 Ben Watt launched his own independent record label called Buzzin' Fly named after a song by Tim Buckley. Tim Buckley was the father of  the wonderful Jeff Buckley. Jeff Buckley covered Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (said to be better than the original wot I agrees wiv). Leonard Cohen's The Old Revolution was used in the TV show The Walking Dead.

An da winner as chosened by Sonic dus be .................................  @terenceterrier wiv Girl by The Beatles. Well done El Tel .... dussnt forget mum n dad away til toosdee.

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Eighty Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 285 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Walkin in Memphis from Cher. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Skye with Cher covering Walking in Memphis. Mum has been taking care of a hospitalized 92 yo lady until the lady got mad and kicked her out. Mum knows the lady was frustrated and feeling sorry for herself but it hurt mum. My link for the day is also a cover, one that describes regret and depression not unlike her friend. Here is Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" originally by Depeche Mode.

@diamondbertie
Last week's winner was Skye with Walking in Memphis by Cher, this got me thinking of Memphis the last resting place the "the King" Elvis Presley, but nothing jumped out to me so I thought outside the box and keeping to the theme of walking I remembered Helen Shapiro and she song Walking Back To Happiness, she had a lovely voice shame she did not go further longer.

@cloonfourmegan

Last week Skye won wiv Cher singing Walking in Memphis. Cher was famously married to Sonny but she was also married to Greg Allman. So here he is continuing the walking theme with Ramblin' Man.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Skye winned wiv Cher singing “Walking In Memphis”. Weneva I fink of Cher I rememba she woz in da film “The Witches of Eastwick” . She played da part of one of three women wot developed their magical abilities when a devil in human form ( played by Jack Nicholson) moved into their town. So for my linky dis week I gives yoo “Magic” by Coldplay.

@sonikebt
Well done @skye613 for last week's win with "Walking in Memphis" by Cher. We are staying with the walking theme this week with "Walking Wounded" by Everything But The Girl.

@djladylexie
I've decided to do some lateral finkin on dis one and chosen walkin as me feme. Walkin is somfink you do by putting one foot (or two paws) in front of other so you can go from place to place. Waulking on the other paw is the technique of finishing newly-woven tweed. Waulking song. Waulking songs are Scottish folk songs, traditionally sung in the Gaelic language by women while waulking cloth. This practice involved a group of people beating newly woven tweed rhythmically against a table or similar surface to soften it. A lot of people wear tweed when they are out in the country avin walks. Sooooo, ere be my song for walking and waulking! Skye Waulking from Capercaillie an in true Trucker style ere be the live version.

An da winner as chosened by Skye dus be ................................. Sonic wiv Everyfink but the girl an Walkin Wounded. Yay! Well done me pal. Is you next week.

Ere wot Skye said: Almost every paw was walking this week! Great links. Took me a bit to find out it , the winner is link # 5.  Thanks all!

So now is over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 24th July 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Eighty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 284 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Terence Terrier wiv Elvis singin Bridge Over Troubled Water. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Sir with Bridge over troubled water.  Water is one of the 4 classic element, earth, wind or air, fire, and water.  The troubled US has been plagued this week with race related shootings. My links of the week are classic elements and trouble. Here is Bob Dylan with his classic, "Blowin' in the Wind". The vid is from a Live Aid concert so you might recognize 3 other stars.

@skye613
Congrats Terence! So we have Elvis singing a cover . We all know Elvis's hometown is Memphis. My link this week is Marc Cohn's " Walking In Memphis" . According to Marc , he went to Memphis and Graceland when he was trying to break into the business for inspiration. Couldn't resist  a cover for a cover.

@cloonfourmegan
Tel won wiv Bridge Over Troubled Water sung by Elvis. Of course the song was made famous by Simon and Garfunkel. Paul Simon is going strong and just released new songs and we really like this one about not being able to get back into your own gig. However famous you be you still need a Wristband.

https://youtu.be/9lJHVpH5v8Q

@sonikebt
Well done Tel for winning last week with Elvis' version of "Bridge over troubled water". This week we are going with another Elvis with Elvis Costello and the Attractions and "Oliver's Army".

@icypinklemonade
Elvis! Now that's my jam! I had a hard time choosing another version of that song, or another song by another singer who does it, but went with another Elvis song. "Teddy Bear" to go with your elite #keepfits position *tries to butter up* I used the Full House clip cuz it's so cute!

@djladylexie
Elvis was the man! When he was first startin out singing and dancin he was told he wasn't allowed to swing his hips on stage. His nickname was Elvis the Pelvis and later he earned the honourable and fitting title of The King of Rock and Roll. Elvis married Priscilla and they had a daughter who was called Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa Marie Presley married Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was also had the title of King ... King of Pop. So I'm going with a Michael Jackson song called You Are Not Alone. The video for the song stars Lisa Marie Presley.

An da winner as chosened by Terence dus be ................................. Walkin in Memphis from Skye! Yay well done me pal. You chooses next week!

Ere wot Terence said: Fanks for da sooper chain linkies my pals. *consults judging rools* It sez here I gotta pick a clever linky coupled wiv a songy I likes. So afta much in depth considerayshun *mutters Eeny Meeny Miny Mo under breff* I decided to go wiv linky 2 wot be Cher singing “Walking in Memphis”

So now is over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Eighty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 283 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner wa Clapton wiph Earth Wind an Fire an September.

Let's see what we gots this week:

@sonikebt
Well done to Sir C for winning the chain last week with September by Earth Wind and Fire. September was the month that our olds got married & they had their first date on the Ides of March. The Ides of March became notorious as the day of Julius Caesar's assassination, led by his friend Brutus. These events have been referred to this week re all the political back stabbing that's been going on. So our link this week is "Assassin" by Muse.

Beware the Ides of March my friends ........

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Clapton with Earth, Wind and Fire. Earth, wind and fire are three of the four elements, the fourth being ice cream, obviously. But it looks like no one taught those guys to count to four and they missed the last one off. So my choice this week is Feist with 1234, so they can finally add the final one. Plus the video is nice.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Clapton won with Earth Wind and Fire. This week the Wales Dragon has been on fire in Euro 2016 so we choose the Welsh National Anthem .. this version have the words so you can all learn before Wednesday cos we are all Welsh now. COME ON WALES!

@terenceterrier
Larst week our little woolly pal Clapton win da chainy wiv “September” by Earth Wind an Fire. As yoo noes Earth, Wind n Fire be 3 of da 4 elements of nature – da 4th element be Water. Wiv da fall owt over da UK reffyrenum there be a lot of da proverbial troubled water. So my linky be “Bridge Over Troubled Water” n I choose da vershun by Elvis Presley for a change.

@skye613
Congrats Sir Clapton! So we have Earth Wind & Fire , but we forgot about Air! So my linky this week is from Air. And what do we see in the air at night? Why Stars of course ! " Kelly Watch The Stars".

@maggietkat
Ooo that Clapton, a sneaky one with September by EWF. I have heard that tune so many times, but I still can't figure out the words in the chorus. So, I looked for month and unintelligible lyrics. In honor of the colonies' holiday, July 4, here is the band Chicago with that mumble mouthed Chicago accent doing Saturday in the Park (but they have great hair).

@djladylexie
Earth, wind and fire are elements. The fourth element is air. Course, you kow there is a fifth element. The fifth element is considered to be the ether, the vacuum, the void or .. space. There is also a filum wot is called The Fifth Element where the fifth element in human form combines the power of the first four elements to defeat evil, as you do. Well, that was a great filum and a great soundtrack too. So we gonna pick a song from the movie wot is called The Diva Dance.

An da winner as chosened by Clapton dus be ................................. Tel. Yay! Well done me pal (again pffttt you is just as bad as me winnin all the time :)). You chooses next week!

Ere wot Clapton said: Well Miss Lexie, what a fine group of very clever links. It has been very difficult to choose this week and we have been looking at the choices for ages. But in the end we think that we will go with the sentimental choose and pick link no. 4. I think we should also tell Miss Megan that she has been very optimistic with link no.3. Ahem….

So now is over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 10th July 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!
