@diamondbertie
Clever Lexie won with U2 Miracle of Joey Ramone, I admit to not knowing this song well but I listens to it, and my mind kept turning to a song by Bruce Springsteen called The River, I don’t know why but that is my linky for this week.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you won wiv U2 and The Ballad of Joey Ramone. A Joey is also known as a kangaroo and so we choose the almost national anthem of Australia Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport!

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was a song dedicated to Joey Ramone….he was a member of the Ramones, a band famous for their very short songs….well I accuse them of being profligate and verbose and recommend for your attention the song “You suffer” by Napalm Death which clocks in at a lengthy 1.4 seconds….BOL...

@skye613
Hello pals! Ready for a good walk about today? So the winning tune was " The Miracle of Joey Ramone. " Joey's idol was Pete Townshend. Do you know the only song that Townshend played on that hit #1? And don't even look to The Who! Pete produced, arranged and played bass on this tune originally titled " Revolution." Our linky this week " Something In The Air".

@maggietkat
Well done Lexi with U2.s The Miracle (of Joey Ramone).   I just went straight for the Miracle. Here is Smokey Robinson and the Miracles doing Shop Around.

@terenceterrier

Larst week Lexie winned wiv "The Miracle ( of Joey Ramone ) ". Dis woz writted as a tribute to da man cos he deaded - appawrently  he listened to a U2 song as he passed away. There were lotsa other tribute songs for him so I gonna pick da one by Blondie wot be "Hello Joe" n I gives yoo da video from Blondie: Live by Request.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifty Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 355 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Sonic an Spik wiph .  Let's see wot we gots this week:

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was Jerusalem….a song in praise of the country we call our home …..and this got to reminding me of another song we have always loved….This Land is Your Land by Woody Guthrie….a song about the beauty and variety of America and how it belongs to its people….something that I think we can all take to remind ourselves of in these dark times….and we have chosen a version by Bruce Springsteen….Mr Bruce explains what the song means to him at the start of the video….”this land was made for you and me”… not the 1%.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sonic did win wiv Jerusalem. As Sonic said this was written by the visionary poet William Blake. He also wrote a poem. Tiger Tiger which mum had to learn by heart at school (why? Who knows it was the 1970s!). So we chooses The Eye of the Tiger by Survivor

@diamondbertie

Well done Sonic and Spike, your choice of Jerusalem took me back to a time when the world was young and we still had our innocence which give me Vaughan Williams’ piece Seventeen Come Sunday played by The Academy of St Martin in the Fields and conducted by Sir Neville Mariner. I always get a lump to my throat when I hear this.

@maggietkat
Well done Sonic! Blake’s poem addresses many things and one I thought about were “dark satanic mills”. The Industrial Revolution was built on the small man. There are many songs about THE Man getting rich. My choice is about Kentucky coal mines, “you’ll never leave Harlan alive” sung by Patti Loveless.

@terenceterrier
Clever pals Sonic n Spike won wiv "Jerusalem " sung at da Proms. Dis is also sung at da opening of da National Federation of Women's Institutes AGM n also at some branch meetings. Da Rylstone branch famussly produced a calendar wiv pics of dem posing nude doing traditional WI activities n wot raised money for leukaemia research. Dis woz da inspawrayshun for da film "Calendar Girls".   A film where 6 unemployed steel workers from Sheffield stripped off to raise munney to pay their debts woz " The Full Monty". So my linky dis week is from dat film n be "You can leave your hat on" sung by Tom Jones. Da video I use is da final scene from da film n if yoo be of a sensitive nature yoo may need to avert yor eyes.

@skye613
Tis the season! My choice this week " Oh Little Town of Bethlehem ". Sorry no nothing of the last prom.

@djladylexie
My linky is U2. Jerusalem first started live as a poem "and did those feet in ancient times by William Blake. William Blake was a poet (ooo there's a surprise). He became a member of the Royal Academy which was then housed in Old Somerset House, near the Strand. Old Somerset House is now called Somerset House, which is the new Somerset House wot is still the old Somerset House *confussled*. Anyhoo, Somerset is also a county in England. Within that county is a place called Glastonbury and this is where the aptly-named Glastonbury Festival takes place. One band to play at Glastonbury are U2. U2 first made their appearance at Glastonbury in 2011. U2 named their 2014 album Songs of Innocence after the Blake book of poems of the same name. I choose a song from that album - The Miracle of Joey Ramone.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Sonic and Spike saided ...................... dus be  .............................. is me again!. Well done me haha! Dad be choosing next week.

Ere wot Sonic and Spike said: Thanks for all the great links this week  pals, many of which we hadn’t heard before.  We have chosen Link 7 this week because it was a very interesting link back to Blake’s poetry. That and we do like a good U2 tune.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 354 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Terence wiph Ol Man River from Roderick Williams.  Let's see wot we gots this week:

@skye613

Wow, whole lot a water going round these past few weeks. And we're going to stay the course." Ol Man River" probably would keep rolling down the river with Ike and Tina. Enjoy,

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel did win wiv Ol Man River which be from the musical Showboat. Showboat be  a collaboration between Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kerr (and PG Woodhouse) but usually we fink of Hammerstein’s musicals wiv Richard Rodgers and we chooses one of our faves from South Pacific.

@diamondbertie
Last week Terence Terrier won with Old Man River sung  by Roderick Williams,  Paul Robeson sang it in Showboat, my link is Paul Robeson singing Shenandoah.

@maggietkat
Well done Tel with “Ole man river” from Showboat. The Mississippi River rolls on and doesn’t care. The other thing that doesn’t care is time. I have chosen a song from another musical, the new Hamilton.  This is the ending number, “Who live, who dies, who tells your story”.

@soniekbt

Well done Sir T with your link O’l Man River performed at the Last Night of the Proms. We did go to the LNOTP a couple of years ago so for our link we have chosen our fav song from that (despite our Celtic heritage) - “Jerusalem” - William Blake & Sir Hubert Parry.

@djladylexie
Ol Man River is from a moosical wot is called Show Boat. A show boat dus be a boat wot is a floating theatre. Showboating has also come to mean someone who wants their behaviour to be seen at all costs where a person will do something flashy instead of achieving their goals. Boxers are well known for their showboating style before a fight. Most notable of these are Muhammad Ali. Ali called himself The Greatest (well deserved as it turned out). He floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee, the great Ali. So my link is a song about the greatest showboater of them all. Muhammad Ali from Faithless.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Tel ...................... dus be  ..............................Sonic and Spike. Well done me pals! You be choosing next week.

Ere wot the El Tel said: Fanks for da linkies my pals. Wot to do ? Afta much discussion wiv mum n for reasons best known only to ourselves I chooses linky 5 wot be " Jerusalem " sung by Da Great British Public * sings along waving terrier flag* . I duss have to give speshull credit to linky 6 though.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 13th November 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 353 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Bertie wiv River Lady from Roger Whittaker.  Let's see wot we gots this week:

@cloonfourmegan
Last week clever Bertie won wiv Roger Whittaker and River Lady. Roger Whittaker was born in Kenya. This is a good place for safaris which reminded us of a cartoon film The Wild Thornberrys The Movie which do be set in a safari and has this lovely tear jerking song by Paul Simon on its soundtrack.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie….last week our winner was the song River Lady…the only lady who sings about rivers that we know about is Enya….so this week our link is “Orinoco Flow”….the orinoco is a river which goes through Columbia and Venezuela and is over 2,000 km long…

@maggietkat
Well done Bertie! I am going with the river link. Here is Neil Diamond sing “Suzanne”.

@terenceterrier

Larst week Sir Bertie win da chainy wiv Roger Whittaker singing "River Lady" wot be abowt a boat on a river. I gonna stay wiv da boat n river theme n it be a short hop to get to my linky wot be "Ol' Man River" wot be a song from da musical "Showboat" . There be many vershun stop choose from cos it woz made into a film three times n da song been covered by lotsa well known peeps. Da vershun I gonna go wiv tho is Rodrick Williams singing it at da BBC Proms 2014.

@skye613
Bertie won last week with a great tune " River Lady". Sticking to the nautical theme for ma linky this week. " Ship to Shore " Chris de Burgh. Enjoy!

@djladylexie
Roger Whittaker is well known for his whistling abilities but did you also know that there is such a fing as a whistle register. The whistle register is the highest register of the human voice. This is because the timbre of the notes produced are similar to that of a whistle. One of the most famour whistle register artists was Minnie Riperton. So me goin wit Lovin You and Minni Riperton. Try singing that in the shower!

An da winner as chosen by ............... Bertie ...................... dus be  .............................. Terence. Well done me pal! You be choosing next week.

Ere wot the Bertie said: The links were all so good it was a hard job choosing. I kept playing and I narrowed it down to number 4, Old Man River by Roderick Williams and 2. Orinoco Flows by Enya. I wish we could have joint winners. If not then it has to be number 4 Ol Man River.
