Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifty Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 357 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was me Clapton wiv somefink really horrible which is best forgotten heehee. Let's see wot we gots this week:

@sonikebt

Congrats to Sir Clapton for winning with “You suffer” by Napalm Death. Napalm Death’s music is part of the Death Metal and Grindcore genre about which we know very little. With the help of our 17 year old we explored some other new to us music and have chosen a song from the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) genre which is a little more soothing than “You suffer”. Our chosen artist is cited as an influence for Radiohead’s Kid A album. Our link this week is “Xtal” by Aphex Twin.

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with the shortest song ever! I decided to look at the opposite of suffer and find a song that makes me smile. I found one that fills this thought but also has in the title “good”. Here is James Brown singing his classic, “I Got You (I Feel Good)” .

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sir Clapton won wiv Napalm Death and You Suffer. The second line of this great lyrical fest is Why so we chooses Annie Lennox singing Why.

@skye613
Well done Sir Clapton! So napalm sends me to Vietnam. And Vietnam will always bring to mind theRobin Williams film " Good Morning Vietnam. "My linky this week " The Warmth of the Sun" from the soundtrack. And the sun is warm like napalm! BOL

@terenceterrier
So after a long wait our favrit knitted dog Sir Clapton wins da chainy wiv da linky "You Suffer" by Napalm Death. *whispers*  I worries abowt him I rilly duss cos all dat jogglin abowt on bikes seems to have unhinged his brain. *sets up YouCaring fundraiser to get da little woolly chap into a retreat*. But back to da serious bizniss. Dat song (using da term loosely) woz da shortest track ever released. Fank dog ! At da other end of da scale da longest song ever to get to numba 1 in da UK charts woz "All Around The World " by Oasis. I give you da offishul video as my linky. It is memorable not just cos of all da Sgt Pepper like animayshuns but cos near da end Liam Gallaher iz standing next to his bruvver Noel n  aktually seen to SMILE !

@djladylexie
Cheerful little number that and a rather pleasant singing voice NOT heehee. Napalm Death are an extreme death metal band (which is code for a 'load of crap')more like wishing-you-were-deaf metal I reckon. Death metal is a sub-genre of metal.  I love to av a google on fings so I decided to find out what the polar opposite of death metal is and, well according to Spotify and its 'the opposite of every genre' blog it is Reggae Roots, also a sub-genre of reggae. That sounds far more pleasant what, what? So here we go, a nice lickle Roots Reggae number for ya which is one of the top roots reggae numbers of all time from Mr Robert Marley (ahem) himself Jamming by Bob and the Wailers. Reminds me of that joke

How does Bob Marley like his doughnuts?
Wi' jam in! ('We jammin')

An da winner as chosen by ....................... Clapton ................................ dus be ........................................................ Skye! Yay well done me pal you choosin next week!

Ere wot Clapton said: Hello Miss Lexie. Another good haul of seasonal selections in our Chainy Christmas e-mail this morning. We always enjoy the links and thinking that our pals have done. As we celebrated the 5th anniversary of old Marley passing OTRB this week we were very tempted to choose linky 6 but that seemed a bit self-indulgent for us to do so instead we are choosing linky 4. This is because we have been watching the new 10-part series about the Vietnam war recently (highly recommended via iPlayer) and the Beach Boys are always good for cheering up a cold and windy December day. Hurrah! Well done to all the players.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 11th December 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain dus be inspired by da pawsome Radcliffe & Maconie Show wot you can has a listen to on dere website. Follow me @dogstoyevsky or #lexieschain on Twitter to join da fun. Remember anyfink goes! Rock, classical, opera, ballads, punk, reggae - is up to you! Fanx for playin!
