Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eighty Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 386 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was me wiv Pretty Woman from Roy Orbison. Let's see what we got this week:

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you LEXIE did win wiv Pretty Woman sung by Roy Orbison. That song was in the film of the same name starring Julia Roberts. She was also around that time in another great film My Best Friends Wedding where the cast sings another great song Say A Little Prayer For You.

@claptonterrier
ello Lady Lexie…last week our winner was the song Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison…that of course made us think about the film Pretty Woman starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts…so we googled Richard Gere to see if he had any musical links and we saw an interview in Rolling Stone Magazine entitled “Richard Gere: Heartbreaker” so of course our linky this week has written itself and it is Heartbreaker by the Rolling Stones…

@limeoscar
Well, so well done Lexie with Roy Orbison’s Oh Pretty Woman.  Did you know this was covered by Van Halen in the early eighties (tis true ... go look it up for the most unlikely version you will ever hear!).  So anyway, Van Halen: well probably their most successful hit was Jump and so this does be our linky this week.  In 2012 PRS for Music polled it’s members for the most popular sporting song in the run up to the Olympics and Jump was voted number 1!  We think this version is most inspiring … *imagines Lexie’s Dad borrowing lead singer’s outfit for karaoke pawformance, all pouty & complete with splits & jumps* 😳😆.

@terenceterrier
Wowser we gots spooky shivers when we saw Dame Lexie's winning linky wot woz  "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison . Dat woz one of Grandpaw's favrit songs n it picked in da same week as wot he died. He also luvved watching footie n woulda been glued to da telly at da mo wotchin da World Cup games in Russia. So for my linky I look for annuva song writted in da 60's n I gonna give yoo " Back in the USSR" n it be a live vershun by Paul McCartney in Moscow Red Square Russia.

Ere wot dad said:  Excellent links everyone. Van Halen won it for me although I think I'd split my difference if I tried that!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eighty Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 285 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Oscar wiv Hound Dog from Elvis. Let's see what we got this week:

@diamondbertie
Well done Oscar. I love Elvis Hound Dog set my mind straight to Who Let The Dogs Out by Baha Men it made me smile.

@maggietkat
Well down Oscar with Hound Dog sung by “The Pelvis”. One of the lyrics stuck in my mind, “you ain’t caught a rabbit...” my link is Eddie Rabbitt doing “I love a rainy night”. And, Rabbitt penned another hit for Presley, “Kentucky Rain”.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Oscar won wiv Elvis and Hound Dog. That made us think of Kate Bush’s song Hounds of Hell. This song was covered by The Futureheads. They got their name from a Flaming Lips album so we give you the Flaming Lips and Do You Realise?

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was Houd Dog by Elvis P….we never did quite understand why Mr Presley’s hound dog was crying all the time….so this week our linky is a slightly more explicable set of crying circumstances….Cryin by Roy Orbison….

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Oscar had da winning linky - Elvis Presley n "Hound Dog" . I gonna run wiv da hound theme . The Hound of the Baskervilles come to mind  but it dussnt have a theme toon to use . So I tries again . My linky be "Hounds of Love" by Kate Bush but Iz going wiv da Alternative vershun.

@sonikebt
Well done @LimeOscar for winning with “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley. There are lots of people who think that Elvis didn’t “leave the building” and our link this week thinks he floating in space about to play a gig on the moon. “Moondog” - Prefab Sprout.

@djladylexie
Well the hound dog song was originally sung by a woman and was about a man who she was singin was nuffin but a gigolo. I dunno wot dat is but happarently Richard Gere was one once in a movie caled American Gigolo. Ok me checked an a gilogo is a male escort. Interestin that he played that a gilogo as he later starred in a movie wiph Julia Roberts wot was i spose the female equivalent of a glogolo. Dat movie was Pretty Woman so me gonna go wiph da feem toon for it wot be unsurprisingly called Pretty Woman!

An da winner ............ as chosened by Oscar  ..................... dus be ..............................  me!  Me dad choosin next week as long as he not at sea eeek!

Ere wot Oscar said: Well, wot a fab lot of linkys to choose from and so many linkys that link to each other, BOL!  So we choose Linky 7 coz Mr Richard does be Gmas fav actor, Mr Roy is her fav singer and we finks she’s real pretty!

Lexie's Chain: Three Hundred and Eighty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 284 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Terence wiv Three Dog Night an I've Never Been To Spain. Let's see what we got this week:

@claptonterrier
last week Sir Terence reminded us that he had never been to Spain….which is odd as I thought everyone had been to Spain…I wonder where he has been in that case….do you think he will tell us….no?…well, I am reminded by trip advisor that San Francisco is very nice at this time of year…so If You’re Going to San Francisco Sir Terence...….

@limeoscar
Well now, good on Sir T for winning wiv Three Dog Night, I’ve never been to Spain. In the song he sings that he haz bin to Oaklahoma, so we could go there ... but that would be far too obvious! So instead we looked up the song as we had not heard it before and woz surprised to see it had been covered by so many people, not least The King himself at his 1972 Madison Square Garden concert.  Here he is having fun with another of his hits from the same concert: we gives you Elvis Presley’s Hound Dog . . . Thanyou, thanyou ver much, folks *in best Elvis voice*.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence did win with Three Dog Night and Never Been to Spain. We’d never heard of this group so we did a bit of research and found they had worked with lots of famous songwriters including Randy Newman  on Mama Told Me Not To Come. We like that song but we did choose another Randy Newman song which we dedicate to our twitter pals.

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with I've never been to Spain by the Three Dog Night. Luv that tune! Going to Spain is taking a holiday, something I need to do! I chose “Vacation ” by the Go-Gos since it is about taking holiday.

@djladylexie
Never been to spain? Oh, well this year I am off to sunny spain! Oooo I feel a song comin on!

An da winner ............ as chosened by Terence ..................... dus be ..............................  Oscar!  Yay! You choosin me pal!

Ere wot Tel said: Fanks for da linkies my pals. I duss appawciate a well researched linky n a good songy so I chooses linky numba 2 wot be Elvis Presley n "Hound Dog".

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 19th June 2018 (ges it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eighty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 383 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Clapton wiv Madonna nd La Isla Bonita. Let's see what we got this week:

@terenceterrier
Larst week our little woolly pal Sir C winned wiv "La Isla Bonita" by Madonna. Dis woz da furst Madonna song to use Spanish motifs - it include Spanish lyrics, use a Spanish guitar n she dress up as a flamenco dancer in da offishul video. But not every wun haz da munney to whizz off to Spain tho n see all dis. I spect Sir C had help from Mr Parker n Miss Lola n dey werk hard on da linky late into da nite. So my linky be Three Dog Night and "I've Never Been To Spain".

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sir Clapton won wiv Madonna and La Isla Bonita. In that song Madge sings about dancing the Samba. This got us finking about dances and we particularly like the dance with no name that Harry Belafonte sings about in Dance in the Line which is also perfect for this hot weather.

@limeoscar
So Sir C gave us some high falutin linky wiv talks of legends an such, winning with La Isla Bonita, which heavily features spanish guitar to show Madonna’s love of latin people and culture.  This puts us in mind of MiloÅ¡ who we fink is a legend on the Spanish guitar (see what we did there!) and so this does be our linky this week.  Here he is playing 'Spanish Romance' coz we are all romantics at heart.

@djladylexie
Well done oh woolly one. Madonna is a pop singer. She likes to be known by one name, lots of wimmins do that I've noticed. Adele, Cher, Shakira, Beyonce ... anyhoo you get the idea. So I fink I go wiv a number wot celebrates single (named) laydees from Beyonce all the single ladies.

An da winner ............ as chosened by Clapton ..................... dus be ..............................  Terence!  Yay!

Ere wot Clapton said: Hello Miss Lexie….I see everyone has been hard at work again this week with their excellent linkys….our winner this week will be link number 1 because that made us laugh…although actual input into our links from mr Parker and Miss Lola is less than it might be…BOL

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 12th June 2018 (ges it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eighty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 382 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Megan Beauty School Dropout from Frankie Avalon. Let's see what we got this week:

@maggietkat
well done Megan with Frankie Avalon and Beauty School Drop Out. Poor Frenchi accidently died her hair pink. I am going with colour and hair for my link, America with Sister Golden Hair.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Megan did win wiv " Beauty School Drop Out" wot be a songy from da moosical " Grease" . Da male lead in dat woz John Travalto. Da previous film he starred in woz "Saturday Night Fever" . So I gives yoo a clip from dat film wiv him doing his fing to "You Should Be Dancing" by The Bee Gees.

@claptonterrier
Avalon means "the isle of fruit [or apple] trees") and is a legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend. It first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth's 1136 pseudo-historical account Historia Regum Britanniae ("The History of the Kings of Britain") as the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged and later where Arthur was taken to recover from his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. Well, we have wrung our brains for songs about islands and so our linky this week is La Isla Bonita by Madonna.

@limeoscar
So well done to Dame M who won with Beauty School Dropout . . . which does start me thinking about education.  I think the Pink Floyd said it best when they said "We don’t need no education" and so this does be me linky this week . . . Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2, which was a protest against rigid schooling and surprisingly their only No 1 in many countries including the UK!

@sonikebt
Well done @CloonfourMegan for the winning link “Beauty school drop out” by Frankie Avalon. Roxy Music’s final album was called Avalon. Our link this week is the single from that album also called “Avalon” - Roxy Music.

@djladylexie
Grease .. what a movie! My favourite character was Betty Rizzo the tough cynical leader of the Pink Ladies. A Pink Lady is also an apple. Apples tend to be green. Glen Campbell and Bobbie Gentry sang a song called Little Green Apples dat me linky.

An da winner ............ as chosened by Megan ..................... dus be ..............................  Clapton!  Yay!

Ere wot Megan said: Very good linkies this week ... we nearly went for Brick in the Wall cos it reminds mum of being in sixth form. But in the end we goes for very erudite Linky No 3 and Madonna wiv La Isla Bonita  cos it clever and summery *drinks sangria*

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 5th June 2018 (ges it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!
