Larst week Dame Megan did win wiv " Beauty School Drop Out" wot be a songy from da moosical " Grease" . Da male lead in dat woz John Travalto. Da previous film he starred in woz "Saturday Night Fever" . So I gives yoo a clip from dat film wiv him doing his fing to "You Should Be Dancing" by The Bee Gees.

Avalon means "the isle of fruit [or apple] trees") and is a legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend. It first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth's 1136 pseudo-historical account Historia Regum Britanniae ("The History of the Kings of Britain") as the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged and later where Arthur was taken to recover from his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. Well, we have wrung our brains for songs about islands and so our linky this week is La Isla Bonita by Madonna.

So well done to Dame M who won with Beauty School Dropout . . . which does start me thinking about education.  I think the Pink Floyd said it best when they said "We don’t need no education" and so this does be me linky this week . . . Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2, which was a protest against rigid schooling and surprisingly their only No 1 in many countries including the UK!

Grease .. what a movie! My favourite character was Betty Rizzo the tough cynical leader of the Pink Ladies. A Pink Lady is also an apple. Apples tend to be green. Glen Campbell and Bobbie Gentry sang a song called Little Green Apples dat me linky.
