Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fifty Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 256 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Wyn wiv Nathaniel Raetliff and S.O.B. Let's see what we got for the final chainy of 2015:

@sonikebt
Last week's great winning link from @wotterface was Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats with S.O.B. - a song about struggling with alcohol. Our link this week is about struggling to find love - "Stone Cold Sober" by Del Amitri.

@diamondbertie
Here we are the last chain for 2015  and we all say goodbye to a year with its ups and downs it's tears and laughter. @wotterface won with Nathaniel Rateliffe and the night sweats with S O B. My choice for for the last days of of 2015 is Days by Kirsty Maccoll

@skye613
ohhh the last chainy for 2015! Nathaniel Rateliff is a blues, gospel ,soul ,southern rocker, quite the combo of sound. And the vid for this winning tune appears to be set in a prison. Another southern blues rocking band is Alabama Shakes & they want no fighting at that prison or at the end of our year! Looking forward to the chain in 2016. Thanks to Lexie & Mom for all their hard work.

@claptonterrier
last week was a song by Mr Rateliff and the Night Sweats…it must be furry hot to be sweating in the night….in fact almost 100 degrees we think….so our choice is 96 Degrees in the Shade by Third World…not quite 100 degrees but close…

@cloonfourmegan
Well done Wynter for winning last week with Nathaniel and the Sweats! It has been quite sweaty in this warm December but not as sweaty as the Caribbean where mum once enjoyed dancing to this tune

@bunnersandharvs
So here's to another cleva linky and a big well dun to you Wyn...So we been listening to dat songy and we keeps thinking about a songy called 'Save Me' wot be sung by Aimee Mann. We int sure if it is abowt love or saving hoomans from demselves but we thort dat guy singing about drankin, needed saving.  Happy choosin, Wyn and Happy New Year to all our pals.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Wynn gived uz da winnin linky  “S.O.B.” by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. I tell ya pals if I dussnt win dis week I gonna sob. I gonna whimper n howl. I gonna cry lots. So my linky in antisipawshun be “Crying”. Da original woz by Roy Orbinson but I find dis super vershun by Roy Orbinson wiv K D Lang wot I gives yoo as my linky.

@djladylexie
I never heard this song before but is about drinking your life away after a breakup. So dis week I gonna go wiv There's A Tear In My Beer. What I hear you say? Well, alcohol and break ups seem to create sad songs. So here we have a performer who struggled (and lost) is battle wiv alcohol and sung about a break up wiv alcohol in the lyrics! Who dat? Well it is Hank William of course. As an homage to Hank I have chosen TheThe's version of Tear In My Beer from their album Hanky Panky, dedicated to the country singer.

An da winner as choosed by Wyn ............ dus be ...................................... Megan! Yay well done me pal! You be choosin the first chainy of 2016!!

Ere wot Wyn said: First of all of like to say Merry Crispmouse and a Happy Pig's Ear to all my fellow chainers and a great big thanks to you for doing the chain for another year.

There were lots of sad songs this week to choose from, my own fault really for choosing a song about break ups and drinking but I decided we can't end the year on a sad so my choice this week is link number 5 because it made Mom laugh out loud as it bought back memories of being at Jerry's Rollerdrome in her teenage years, skating round and falling over. What a saddo!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 3rd January 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain dus be inspired by da pawsome Radcliffe & Maconie Show wot you can has a listen to on dere website. Follow me @dogstoyevsky or #lexieschain on Twitter to join da fun. Remember anyfink goes! Rock, classical, opera, ballads, punk, reggae - is up to you! Fanx for playin!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fifty Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 255 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Clapton wiv Praise You from Fat Bot Slim. Let's see what we got dis week (the penultimate chainy of 2015!):

@terenceterrier
Larst week little Clapton winned wiv “Praise You” by Fatboy Slim.  Hiz real name iz Norman Cook n he used to play in The Housemartins.  Dey had a hit wiv “Caravan of Love” wot woz numba 1 in da charts dis very week back in 1986 . It woz a capella songy.  Da first one to go to numba 1 woz “Only You” by “The Flying Pickets” n dis be my chosen linky.

@kelsoterrier
Ok, I see that last week's winner was Clapton with Fatboy Slim's Praise You. I also see Mr Norman Cook was in the news this week coz his Bride Mrs Zoe Ball did snog someone else :-O From researching Mr. Cook I also see his real name is Quentin which is almost as posh as Elton John's real name wot be Reginald! As well as being posh both Norman and Elton have invested lots of money into their favourite footie teams (Brighton & Hove Albion & Watford respectively). Since Zoe should have been kissing her Groom rather than some boyband member this made me think of the excellent Elton song Kiss The Bride which is my link this week. Which would have been a much less tenuous link if it was Norman who was doing the kissing ;-)

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Clapton with Fatboy Slim's Praise You. Praising is a big part of gospel music and this week a new gospel type song has been a massive earworm in our house.  So, I'm passing this earworm on to you all as our choice for this week's chain. Be warned, it's catchy. It's Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats with S.O.B.

@djladylexie
Fat Boy Slim, Praise You. Well as we all know Fatboy Slim's real name dus be Norman Cook and is well known as a famus DJ which is actually what he is. DJ's play music at nightclubs, parties and weddings. White weddings are where the bride where's a white dress to her wedding. A white wedding seemed to annoy Billy Idol quite a bit so I'm goin wiv White Wedding Billy Idol.

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with praise you. The title reminds me of this time of year and memories of Christmas past. Mum says that she has a German lineage, and one of her favorite memories is a song, silent night. Her cousin performed in German, and the memory of his baritone voice drifting across the worshippers still brings a chill. Here is the Dresden boys choir singing Stille Nacht.

@cloonfourmegan
Well done to Clapton for winning with FatBoy Slim Praise You. FatBoy Slim aka Norman Cook is married to Zoe Ball who was on Strictly Come Dancing and this weekend is the Strictly final so as big fans we pick the Strictly theme tune complete with dance actions for Mr C to try out!

@skye613
Our pal Clapton's linky had Fatboy Slim saying " Praise You" . Hallelujah , ma friends,  How about some " Respect" too?

@bunnersandharvs
Well dun to dat Clapton fur his winning linky Praise You last week. We wos thinking bout how Fatty Boy says he dus praise hur and celebrates hur and just wants to be together... Soooooo we thorts about dat and how it gonna be Christmas dis week and akshully all we wants at Christmas is to be wid da ones dey luvs which is why our linky is All I Want Fur Trissymoose Is You' by Mariah Carey. Have fun choooosin dis week my pal and we hopes dat everyone's Christmas is merry and bright.

@diamondbertie
Clapton Terrier won last week with Fat Boy Slim singing Praise You, in the spirit of the season I spontaneously of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handels oratorio Messiah

@sonikebt
@claptonterrier won the chain last week with Praise You by Fatboy Slim who is aka Norman Cook. Norman was famously in The Housemartins who had their only No 1 single with "Caravan of Love". Now surprisingly this is not the only song about caravans and our link this week is "Spanish Caravan" by The Doors. Happy Christmas everyone.

An da winner as choosed by Clapton ............ dus be ...................................... Wyn! Yay well done me pal! You dus be choosin the final chainy!

Ere wot Clapton said: *wrestles with ear worm*…well…hello Miss Lexie…i see that our friends have been up to some very fine and inventive linking this week and have made life very difficult for this poor judge…who has been starving all week..ahem…*checks post box one last time*….but we have finally made our choice…it is very nice to be able to enjoy some music we have not heard before and so this week we are choosing link no.3  by Nathaniel Rateliff…..something of the Christmas “spirit” about this one….woof…

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 27th December (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fifty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 254 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Megan wiv K D Lang and Hallelujah. Letr's see what we got dis week:

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie..last week we had a song called “hallelujah”… we have not strayed far from that theme this week…Hallelujah means praise the Lord and so this week our linky is “Praise You” by Fatboy Slim.

@maggietkat
Well done with "Hallelujah". Leonard Cohen was a poet and composer. One of his poems "Suzanne lay me down" was transformed into a song "Suzanne". The song was recorded by many artists, but the version I associate with the song is by Neil Diamond.

@skye613
Congrats to @cloonfourmegan . "Hallelujah " is, as you said, perhaps the best known song of Leonard Cohens having been covered more than 60 times. My choice this week is another cover of a Leonard Cohen song. This was released on Judy Collins Wildflowers album . M played that album until it warped. BOL

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Megan winned wiv “Hallelujah” singed by K D Lang but writted by Leonard Cohen. Dis luvvly songy bin covered by lotsa artists. I discover dat one veshun be in “Shrek” wot be a film wot we often see at Crispmouse on da telly. So I looks for unnuva songy from da fillum n chooses “I’m on my way” by The Proclaimers cos it be a happy toon to cheer Megan up cos she pooly afta mergency op.

@djladylexie
Nice cover of Hallelujah from K D Lang. She sang the song live at the Winter Olympics in 2010 wot was in Vancouver. Joni Mitchell also sang at the cerenomy. she sang Both Sides Now. So I dus be gowin wiv Both Sides Now.

An da winner as chosened by Megan dus be ....................................... Clapton wiv Fat Boy Slim and Priase You ! Yay, well done me pal, you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Megan said: Oooh what lovely clever linkys. I iz recovering from my op and this do have cheered me up proper! It be very hard to choose but I does go wiv Linky 1 cos it be clever, a good toon and we luvs the video! Mum wants to be in dat dance troupe!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 20th December (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fifty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 253 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin. So let's see what we gots this week.

@skye613
So this week I tries to stay away from the obvious but I got to thinking about the roots of rock & roll. Not only was ragtime one of the roots  but also the blues. Here's one of rocks greatest singing a song by one of the greatest blues singers of all time. Enjoy!

@cloonfourmegan
Well done Maggie on another great win. The Maple Leaf is the national symbol of Canada and we pick one fantastic Canadian singer KD Lang singing perhaps the best known song of Canadian legend Leonard Cohen. Hallelujah!

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie winned wiv da Saxophonics n “Maple Leaf Rag” writted by Scott Joplin. Being just a simple paw I fort praps Janis Joplin MAYBE related to him. So I chooses her songy “Maybe” as my linky

@bunnersandharvs
So Maggie did win last week with a Scott Joplin songy Maple Leaf Rag. Dis makes us think about crossing generations, making classic songs and maple leafs makes us think about colder weathur and Winter Wonderlands....soooooo you gots it, our linky is Winter Wonderland. It's also a classic but here a new vershun by Michael Boobly *snorts*. Have fun chosin, dis week Maggie. Hugs to all da pals and we hopes you is safe and well, whur eva you are.

@claptonterrier
Very last I am afraid Miss Lexie…anyhoo….last week the winning song was Maple Leaf Rag…the maple leaf of course is the national symbol of Canada..(those crazy Canucks)…so this week our link is a song from Canada’s finest…Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams…BOL

@sonikebt
@MaggieTKat won last week with "Maple Leaf Rag" by Scott Joplin. Scott Joplin was also famous for a song called "The Entertainer" which was used as the theme music for the Oscar winning film The Sting. Our link this week is on the theme of entertainment with "That's Entertainment" by The Jam.

@diamondbertie
Last week we Saxophics win with Maple leaf rag, this pure Scot Joplin whose The Entertainer was used in the Film The Sting. Keeping to films Paul Newman also starred in Exodus with the fabulous theme music by Ernest Gold.

@djladylexie
Maple Leaf Rag hmmm well let's see. Rag is short for ragtime a syncopated rhythm. Syncopation is used in many musical styles and is used heavily in dance music. For example the cha cha is a syncopated dance. So, for your syncopated wiggling pleasure I gives you my cha cha linky: Oye Como Va by Santana!

An da winner as chosened by Maggie dus be ....................................... @cloonfourmegan wiv K D Lang and Hallelujah! Yay, well done me pal, you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Maggie said: My heavens sakes! Every link was outstanding. Every tune I absolutely love. However, I had to narrow it down. kd lang singing Hallelujah is one of my favorites.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 13th December (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fifty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 252 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Sonic wiv My Generation from The Who. So let's see what we gots.

@maggietkat
Congratulations Sonic with My Generation by the Who. That was one of the iconic songs of the 60’s, bringing the youth together. Thinking about iconic songs, it seemed to me that rock and roll can trace its roots back to ragtime.  Scott Joplin was one of the foremost composers of that era. Maple Leaf Rag was his first composition to become popular.

@terenceterrier
Larst week da winnin linky woz The Who wiv “My Generation” . Dis put me in mind of da TV prog The Generation Game wot woz presented by Sir Bruce Forsyth. More recently Brucie presented “Strictly Come Dancing”. One of da current contestants iz Peter Andre. So I gives yoo his songy “Mysterious Girl”.

@skye613
"My Generation" defined a generation filled with turmoil, war , peace marches, civil rights marches, space travel and on and on. Music defined our feelings , actions defined our beliefs. And now we are older and looking back " When We Were Young".

@cloonfourmegan
Well done Sonic for winning with My Generation last week. That song was a hit in 1965 and in that year a new generation was born including the wonderful Shania Twain and so although Shania isn't impressed by much we hope you impressed wiv this Linky.

@djladylexie
My linky does be Phil Daniels. What you say? But how! Well, you woned last week wiv The Who and My Generation. This song was used in their rockumentary or modumentary (heehee) The Kids Are Alright. Prior to The Kids Are Alright, The Whoe released Tommy, the rock opera or mod opera (ha again) which used a sound system known as Quintaphonic sound. From this the quadrophonic sound system was born. Quadrophonic sound uses four speakers. Quadrophenia is another Who album, rock (or mod) opera and later movie that starred Phil Daniels as the lead, Jimmy, a man with four different personalities representing each of the four members of The Who. Quad is four. Blur is four. Phil Daniels appears on the Blur song Parklife. That's me link Parklife from Blur.

An da winner as chosened by Sonic dus be ....................................... @maggietkat wiv ........................ Scott Joplin and the Maple Leaf Rag! Yay, well done me pal, you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Sonic said: We haz deliberated and chosen Linky 1. All the links this week were great. We decided to go with something a bit different and really enjoyed the Scott Joplin so chose that.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 6th December (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fifty First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 251 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Terence wiv Moody Blues and Nights In White Satin. So let's see what we gots.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Moody Blues with Nights in White Satin. I've often heard people being a bit confused as they think it's Knights in White Satin, which is silly. So my choice this week is another misunderstood lyric. Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze. Excuse me while I kiss this guy.

@djladylexie
Moody Blues Nights In White Satin. Great tune. Justin Hayward was the lead singer of The Moody Blues. Justin Hayward appeared on the fabulous Rick Wakeman album Return To the Centre Of The Earth. Rick Wakeman was the keyboard player for prog rock band Yes. I am choosing Owner Of A Lonely Heart, another song about the pain of love.

@skye613
And the dude Terence does win again. Good job! So " Nights In White Satin " was featured in season 5 of a favorite TV show, Fringe. Strange show that we loved here in ma dog house. There were 3 main characters, Olivia, Peter and Walter. My linky choice " Do You Remember Walter "

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence won with Nights in White Satin by da Moody Blues. Last week was very sad and more sad things have happened since and I wanted our moody not to be so blue so I is now In the Mood for Dancing and here be the Nolans help wiv that.

@maggietkat
Well done with Nights in White Satin. If I think about the title, I imagine white satin dresses and sheets. Sounds like someone might be Makin' Whoopee! This version is by Rickie Lee Jones and Dr. John which was featured in Sleepless in Seattle.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week we had a song about Knights in White Satin….how very posh this sounds…but I don’t think it is quite the right look for scruffy terriers and so I have chosen a song about some more basic attire and my link this week is “Blue Jeans and White T Shirts” by Gaslight Anthem…

@sonikebt
@terenceterrier won last week with Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues. When Justin Haywood was 17 he signed a publishing deal with Lonnie Donegan, "The King of Skiffle" who influenced some of the biggest names in Rock such as Roger Daltry. So, our link this week is from The Who with "My Generation".

An da winner as chosened by Tel dus be ....................................... @sonikebt wiv My Generation from da Who! Yay, well done me pal, you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Terence said: An interestin selekshun of linkies dis week. How well da chainers noes us here – two by groups wot Mum bin to see live. We likes a cleva linky leadin to a supa toon n it help if da video be speshull. Afta much hummin n hahrin I goes wiv linky 7 – The Who wiv “My Generation” . Luvved da Mods n Rockers at Margate footage n Mum denies any involvement in da mayhem on da beach.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 29th November 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fiftieth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 250 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv Blues in the Night, Liza Minnelli! Lets see what we got dis week.,

@diamondbertie
Last week, well done Maggietkat with Liza Minnelli singing Blue in the Night. I really had to scratch my head with this one it's got me thinking of the film cabaret and Liza Minnelli and of course Joel Vrey he sang Wilkommen Cabaret - the whole film was very sad.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie winned wiv Blues in the Night singed by Lisa Minelli.  A real fillip for poorly kitteh. For my linky I pull out da werd Blues n goes wiv da group The Moody Blues I also pull out da werd Nightâ and goes wiv their well known hit from da 60s Nights in White Satin.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was a song by Liza Minelli and it was mentioned that she was Judy Garland's daughter. So out choice this week is the band Daughter with their song Youth X.

@skye613
I had an entirely different link until Friday. With  respect to the events in Paris and those who will never return to their loved ones, human and animal, my link this week is If I Could Be Where You Are.

@claptonterrier
Hello….Miss Lexie…last week Miss Maggie chose a song by Liza Minelli…of course Miss Liza is the daughter of Judy Garland..and that made us think of other famous musical offspring…so this week our link is by Nora Jones…the daughter of sitar-virtuoso Ravi Shankar…and her song “Sunrise”.

@sonikebt
Can't think of the right thing to say this week so hopefully this music says it for us. #jesuisparis

@djladylexie
Paris, Beirut, Lebanon all the death it is terrible and beyond words. I  have chosen Westlife and I'll See You Again.

Ere wot Maggie said: Very hard chain this week. In the end, I chose Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues. I decided to stick to the spirit of the chain. I encourage everyone to listen to the tunes which honor the Paris devastation. I love both the daughter links. However, Days of Future Past was the first album I purchased (at the 5 and dime) so I had to give the nod to the Moody Blues.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 22nd November 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 249 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiv The Man That Got Away from Judy Garland. Let's see what we go dis week!

@diamondbertie
Lady Lexie won last week with the Man That Got Away by Judy Garland. My choice is with Remembrance Sunday in mind we have to think of the millions of men that got away so I choose Marlene Deitrich singing Where Have All The Flowers Gone. Marlene Deitrich was born in 1901, so she would have been a young girl during that terrible war.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was a song called "The Man That Got Away". That's usually what we say about fish...the one that got away (and it's usually massive) so my choice this week is Reel Big Fish..

@sonikebt
@djladylexie did win last week with a song by Judy Garland - "The man that .......". Scottish band Travis' second album was called The Man Who. Our choice this week is from that album and kinda describes living in the west coast of Scotland - "Why does it always rain on me".

@maggietkat
Well done Lexie with Judy Garland and The Man that Got Away.  Harold Arlen was the composer and he had many hit songs. I have 2 links today, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland's daughter, and a song by Arlen with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, Blues in the Night.

@terenceterrier
Larst week yoo winned wiv Judy Garland n “The Man That Got Away” . As yoo all noes wen she was kiddie she starred in da film “Wizard of Oz” as Dorothy n she wore red shoos wot were magic. Corse if yoo wear red shoes dey say it means dat yoo gots no nickers. But I fink if yoo haz red shoos it means yoo problee gots dem to match a pretty red dress . So my linky gonna be “Lady in Red” by Chris De Burgh.

@bunnersandharvs
Well cleva Lexie won last week's chainy wid good old Judy Garland's 'The Man That Got Away'. We says when you suffered sadness you needs to go to a place whur der int no sadness and der's always happy and you neva finds trubbble or nothing like dat. Soooooo, we going wid a linky 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. Judy sang it furst but we going wid Israel 'IZ' Kamakawiwo'ole's version. Have fun chooosin, Daddy J.

@CloonfourMegan
The wonderful Judy Garland won last week. Her most famous song was Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Many people have covered that song but our favourite is by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole who died too young making this version even more poignant.

@marleyterrier
run-run…very late Miss Lexie!…last week you chose a song by Judy Garland…one of the first child stars…so this week we are choosing another more recent song by child starts Hanson…and our link is Mmmmbop.

Ere wot dad said: Wow! What an interesting mix of songs and links. It was difficult to choose especially as it is Remembrance Sunday today. The Marlene Dietrich link was very moving but in the true spirit of chain I am going to go with the Liza Minnelli link. Well done.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 15th 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Eighth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 248 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Sonic and Spike wiv Barbara Streisand an Woman in Love. Let's see what we go dis week!

@diamondbertie
Last week @sonikebt won with the wonderful Barbara Streisand singing Woman in Love. My choice is the other side of the same coin which is Michael Bolton singing When a Man Loves a Woman, both songs are so passionate.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Babs Streisand with Woman in Love. The Bluetones covered this song as a b side to one of their singles and they also did another song about being in love but a very different kind of love - being in love with a car! Pfft, no idea what that's about but it's a great song. So here's my pick this week. The Bluetones with Autophilia

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Sonic winned wiv da linky Woman In Love singed by Barbra Streisand wot woz a hit in da 80's. Iz gonna be minnymalistik wiv my linky dis week n gives yoo da very luvvly smoochy songy Woman by John Lennon. Dis woz also a hit in da 80's n released as a single after his deff.

@claptonterrier
Hi Miss Lexie…last week our winning song was “Woman in Love” by Barbara Streisand…I see that it was written by the Gibb brothers…..we are reading a book at the moment in which one of the characters mentions a song by Andy Gibb…the lesser known of the famous Gibb family…so this week our link is “I just want to be your everything’ by housewives favourite Andy Gibb….(p.s the book s A Story of Senen Killings…we are enjoying it very much)

@maggietkat
Well done with Babs singing Woman in Love. When I looked at the Streisand song book, I spotted a number by an amazing artist in his own right, Billy Joel. bArbra and Billy also sang it as a duet. Here he is with "New York State of Mind".

@skye613
What a great tune @sonikebt did win with last week. A unique duet with Barbra and Barry Gibb. That got this paw's brain to thinking ..... When does a duet become a duel? How about this one " Paradise By The Dashboard Light" ? Now that's what we call a dueling duet!

@djladylexie
Barbara Streisand also sang beautifully about love in the song Evergreen, from the movie with Kris Kristofferson, A Star Is Born. The original movie starred Judy Garland and James Mason. I am choosing a song from that movie about lost love. The Man That Got Away.

An da winner as chosened by Sonic an Spike  dus be ...........................................  oh .... me! again pffttttt.

Ere wot Sonic and Spike said: 'Twas very hard to choose this week as we love the Bluetones and was a little bit in love with Andy Gibb back in the day but have decided to stick with the divas this week so we choose linky 7 and Judy Garland.

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 247 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Say Somfink by Christina Aguilera. Let's see what we go dis week!

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Skye winned wiv da songy Say Something by A Great Big World / Christina Aguilera. So I ponders for a bit n finks dat if dey asking someone to say summat it means dat person is not talkin and be silent. So for my linky dis week I gives yoo a golden oldie Silence is Golden by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

@sonikebt
Well done to @Skye613 who won last week with "Say Something". Now in the song Christina does say, when talking about love, that she "will stumble and fall". The legendary Streisand used the same phrase when talking about love in her 80's hit "Woman in Love" which was written by Robin and Barry Gibb. So our link this week is Barbara with "Woman in Love".

@maggietkat
Well done Skye with Say Something. I thought I would follow up the duo chain with 2 Neils (Young and Diamond) singing "Old Man". You get an extra point if you can figure out which is which.

@bunnersandharvs
Well dat Skye had a fabuloos linky last week by Christina Aguilera and we been listening to it lots so thanking you fur dat, pal. We shorts about dat songy and how if you don't say something you prolly gonna loose it when you could have had it all. So, going with Rolling in the Deep by Adele. Have greeeeaat week pals and Maggie we so happy you getting betterer too!

@djladylexie
Well done skye! The song about loosing someone you love and saying goodbye. When that happens the days can seem lonely and sad. So this week I choosin Bill Withers Ain't No Suhshine sums it up quite well.

@diamondbertie
@skye613 won with Great Big World by Christine Aguillera, a very emotional song about loss and departures. My choice is also about loss and departure is Days by Kirsty MacColl.

An da winner as chosened by Skye dus be ...........................................  Sonic an Spike wiv Woman in Love from Barbara Streisand! Good one me pals! You choosin next week.

Ere wot Skye said: So many great linkies this week. It is so very hard to chose but one caught me right away. How can I not chose The Fabulous , The Spectacular Barbra. And a very close second with the 2 Neils! Well done pals!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 1st November 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 246 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Terence wiv Robin Thicke and Blurred Lines. Let's see what we go dis week!

@wotterface
No big explanation for my song this week, just read this...

BBC Article

then listen to my choice of song...

Much better

@wonderwinger
So the handsome @terenceterrier won last week with Robin Thicke and Blurred Lines. This song was written and produced by Pharrell Williams. Pharrell Williams is well known for his song "Happy". The Blurred Lines song got them into trouble with Marvin Gaye's children who sued them as they said it sounded like their father's song "Got To Give It Up". The judge found in The Gaye children's favour so my linky shall be Marvin Gaye's last single that was released whilst he was alive "Joy".

@sonikebt
Last week @TerenceTerrier gave us "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams. Now Pharrell is probably best known for his song "Happy" which was remixed, to become "UNhappy" by Woodkid, an artist who we discovered through the chainy.  So our link this week is a song by Woodkid, which Pharrell remixed (albeit not this version) called "I Love You".

@maggietkat
Well done with Blurred Lines! I noticed that Al Jarreau financially backed Robin's first band. This is Al and Dave Brubeck blurring the lines with the innovative 5/4 time signature piece "Take 5". (See what I did? 2 links! Link to Robin himself AND blurred lines!).

Maggie sended dis message: Thanks everyone for their wishes.  I am recovering, but I don't know that Mum will! Here I am sleeping on the back of mom's chair. I haven't done this in over a month.

@skye613
Ma pal Terence is on a Roll! Great tune " Blurred Lines ". So many talented people preforming. Also the song was nominated for a Grammy in the best duo/pop performance category. This category was only added to the Grammys in 2012 . In 2015 my link this week did win this category. This is one that never fails to bring tears to my eyes. So many levels ... So many meanings. Enjoy!

@claptonterrier
Last week Si Terence chose “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. Mr Thicke was famously sued by the family of Marvin Gaye for plagiarising one of his songs for Blurred Lines. Another current singer who was also sued for copyright infringement was Sam Smith. Tom Petty claimed that Mr Smith’s hit “Stay With Me” was like Mr Petty’s song “I wont back down”…he sued and won and was awarded a song-writing credit on Mr Smith’s song…

So this week our link is Sam Smith and “stay With ME”.

@bunnersandharvs
So dat Ter came up wid a grand linky last week wid Blurred Lines. It sure is a paw tapper and it gots us thinking dat bout dem lines bein blurred and confused. It gots us thinking dat if you walk da line in love and life, you will be fine so we going wid an oldie by Johnny Cash called, you gots it...'I Walk the Line'. Why? Because he wrote it about his devotion and love fur his wife June. Der wurnt no lines blurred lines der, no sirrree. Have fun chooosin da linky dis week Ter and happy week to evapawdy.

@djladylexie
Hmmm blurred lines, white lines, the thin blue line, washing lines, walking the line .... lines lines everywhere! Arghhh! I can't see anyfink but lines so that's what I'm going with. I like seein washin on the line especially on a windy day. Shirts billowin in the wind but like Mrs Bartolozzi. Who? Mrs Bartolozzi of course.

An da winner as chosened by Terence dus be ........................................... Skye wiv Christina Aguilera an Say Somfink.

Ere wot Terence said: WOWSER ! Da #lexieschainers came up wiv clever linkies dis week. Lotsa good songies too n I had to listen to dem twice. Got it down to shortlist of 3 but *deep breff n long pawse like wot dey do on da TV results shows* I choose linky numba 5 wot be  A Great Big World/ Christina Aguilera  wiv "Say Something".

Yay well done again Skye! You choosin next week.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 245 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Maggie May by Rod Stewart. Let's see what we go dis week!

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Syke gived us Rod Stewart wiv “Maggie May”. Corse dese days wen I hear dose werds I finks of da BT wot lives wiv Andy  Murray. So I asks wot be his favrit moosic wot he listens to before he plays tennis. One of these be “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke.

@maggietkat
Well done Skye with Rod Stewart's Maggie May. I got thinking about May December romances, and I remembered a movie that was released also released in 1971. "Summer of '42" was an incredible romantic movie that dealt with loss of a soldier and then seeking help. Thus, my song is the hauntingly beautiful "The Summer Knows".

@djladylexie
Well done skye wiv Rod an Maggie! The song is about a young man involved wiv an older woman. One famous movie of that ilk was the wonderufl Mrs Robinson. The feme song of course sung by Simon and Garfunkel. That is me linky Mrs Robins by S&G.

An da winner as chosened by Skye dus be ........................................... Terence wiv Blurred Lines! Well done Tel. So you choosin next time Tel.

Ere wot Skye said: Wow!  Great links to choose from this week and I like them all. But this little Dixie has to go with the BT. Linky #1. Thanks pals.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred Forty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 244 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Terence wiv They Is Comin To Take Me Away Ha Ha Hee Hee. That is not about me :).

@diamondbertie
Well done @terenceterrier, I really smiled at your choice of Mad Hatter with They're Coming To Take Me Away. Alice in Wonderland does allude to mind bending drugs in many parts of his books. My choice of a link is The Beatles and their song Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds which is unashamedly about LSD and I'm not referring to old pounds shillings and pence.

@claptonterrier
last week Sir Terence chose a funny song and illustrated it with a clip from a film featuring Johnny Depp…..Mr Depp’s best known role is as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films….he said he modelled his character on Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones…so this week our link is Moonlight Mile by the Rolling Stones…

 @skye613
Congrats to Tantrum Terence! Ma head is hurting from trying to link this tune but here goes. As Terence told us the winner last week was originally done by Napoleon XIV , who was actually Jerry Samuels a recording engineer. This novelty recording was further enhanced by the same tune recorded on the B side in reverse. Ahhh B sides My link this week is the B side of " Reason to Believe " . Which actually gave Rod Stewart his first #1 in the US.

@sonikebt
TerenceTerrier did win last week with a song by NeuroticFish about a man being taken to the funny farm. Now Fish is the name of the former frontman from Marillion who has a recording studio called The Funny Farm. So, since I'm sure we all love a bit of neo-prog rock, our link this week is "Kaleigh" by Marillion.

@djladylexie
Terence won wiv being taken off by the men in white coats. The men in white being doctors and in this case for doolally people. Some  people believe in aliens you know and some consider them mad too. Course, luckily the men in black tell us that there are aliens coz they are alien hunters as we all know. So, I chooses Will Smif and Men In Black.

An da winner as chosened by Terence dus be ........................................... Skye wiv Rod Stewart an Maggie May. A triumphant return me pal! Well done. So you choosin next time Skye.

Ere wot Tel said: ello Lexie. After mutch careful considerayshun I chooses linky numba 3 – da old rocker Rod Stewart wiv “Maggie May” . I duss likes to see a good linky speshally wen it arrives at one of my favrit songs. Mr Rod woz on Strictly tonite too so dat mite hav influenced me.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 243 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiv Kirsty MacColl and Don't Come The Cowboy With Me:

@terenceterrier
Dats da last straw ! Iz taken all a fur can take ! Annuva win from dat DJ ! Dis old pal slaves over a hot n steaming poota every week to concoct a witty n cleva linky n still dussnt succeed. Iz quivering wiv all da effort. *bangs head against wall n kicks paws on da floor in tantrum* Iz going doolally. *empties valerian pills down froat to calm down* And B-R-E-A-T-H-E . Annuva song by Kirsty MacColl iz A Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis. Sounds like he's also doolally. Dem folks wot be a sandwich short of a piknik get carted off to padded cells by da men in white coats. So my linky dis week be They're Coming To Take me Away Ha Ha. Da original woz by by Napolean X1V but I gives yoo a vershun by da aptly named NeuroticFish and da video shows clips of da Mad Hatter ( aka Johnny Depp ) from Alice in Wonderland wot be film from da crazy fantasy book by Lewis Carroll wot be a favrit of ours.

@diamondbertie
I must admit I love Kirsty MacColl and her song "Don't Come The Cowboy With Me" was a great choice. The song is about what nasty pieces of work a lot of men are to women, made me think the Nancy Sinatra song These Boots Are Made For Walking, which then got me thinking of boots and the hilarious film Kinky Boots, my choice is Kinky Boots - Cast Album Price and Sons Theme.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week you chose the song “don’t come the cowboy with me sunny Jim”…..poor Mr Jim….i think he probably liked being a cowboy….but being a cowboy is not all fun and games….sometimes they have to go on the run…..so this week our link Is “Ride Like the Wind” by Christopher Cross…it tells the story of a cowboy on the run from the law all the way to Mexico….

@maggietkat
Well done with Kirsty Macoll! Something kept running through my pea brain, but "Not in These Shoes", was Cowboys. So, I chose a great video of some of the Nashville Greats joining together as the Highwaymen to sing, "Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be Cowboys".

@skye613
Ahhh! Great to be back to #Lexieschain! And da winner last week was DJ Lexie herself with Kristy Maccoll's " Don't Come the Cowboy with Me Sunny Jim. Kristy's life was ended to soon in a diving/boat accident in Mexico. While diving at night with her sons a boat came into their path, she saved her son Jamie by pushing him out of the boats way, losing her life. Her other son Louis was not in harm's way. Louis has carried on the musical tradition and is Ellie Gouldings manager. My pick " Beating Heart".

@sonikebt
Lovely Lexie did win last week with a great song by Kirsty MacColl about not being a cowboy. Some of the cowboys Kirsty was singing about weren't being very friendly but our linky this week is about a cowboy you could always count on. The song is "You've got a friend in me" by Randy Newman and the cowboy is Woody from Toy Story.

An da winner as chosened by me dad dus be ........................................... Terence Terrier wiv  Ere wot dad said: Their Coming To Take Me Away .... brilliant. Seeing as you are all barking mad anyway! Haha. So you choosin next time Tel.

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Forty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 242 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv Working My Way Back to you Babe from The Spinners. Lets see wot we gots dis week:

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie winned wiv Working my Way Back to You by The Spinners . Spinners use da wool from sheep. So for my linky dis week I give yoo Sheep by The Australian Pink Floyd Show.

@sonikebt
Last week's winner was @MaggieTKat with "Working my way back to you" by the Spinners. Once we got over @claptonterrier 's fondness for chunky men dancing, we noticed that the lyrics talk about missing their girl. So our link this week is "Missing" by Everything but the Girl.

@diamondbertie
Well done @maggietkat winning with The Spinners and working. My choice is Dolly Parton  singing Nine to Five which keeps the theme of working and the work place. This film made me laugh.

@djladylexie
Well done Maggie wiv Spinners and Working My Way Back. This week my link dus be Kirsty Macoll and Don't Come The Cowboy With Me Sunny Jim. You could say she's saying watch out to those Spinners! So why dat one? Well did you know that there was annuva band called The Spinners. They was an english folk singing group from Liverpool. They made a cover of a song by Ewan Macoll called Dirty Old Town. Ewan Macoll was the father of  Kirsty so dat me linky!

@claptonterrier
Last week Miss Maggie chose a song by the Spinners…quite by chance we sent you know who to a spinning class yesterday and someone asked us what spinning was so we had to explain to them it was riding a bicycle inside…so this week our link is The Bike Song by The Business Intl.

@bunnersandharvs
So we gots us anuther good linky dis week from Maggie by da Spinners 'Working My Way Back To You'. It dus be a real paw tapper. We did think dat if dey did work der way back den dey wos 'Together Again' so dat our linky dis week. It dusn't be da paw tapper like dem Spinners but it is by Emmylou Harris. Have a terrific time choosing dis week Maggie and happy week to all da pals.

An the winner ... as chosened by Maggie dus be ................ oh poo! I. Is me again! Pfftttt this is gettin silly! I may have to stop playing I finks.

Ere wot Maggie said: I love the chain of links leading to my lady Kirsty Macoll. So, I choose Kirsty.
