Hello pals. Welcome to week 308 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiv White Horsies. Let's see what we gots this final chainy week:

@terenceterrier
Larst week moosik diva Lexie winned wiv "White Horses " by Jackie Lee. There are lotsa wild white horses in da Camargue. Mum woz wotchin film abowt dem in cinema when news came on screen dat JF Kennedy woz assasinayted. Marilyn Munroe woz a speshall *coughs* friend of his. So I chose for my linky MM performing "I Want To Be Loved By You" in da funny film "Some Like It Hot". It always woz on at Christmas when mum woz younger.

@maggietkat
Well done with "White Horses". Staying with The color white and adding in the season, my pick is "White Christmas".

@skye613
And a very Merry Christmas to one & all! Continuing the Horse theme, I chose " All The Pretty Horses ". A beautiful tune, almost a lullaby. Cause it was a children's show!  ( um I think).

@sonikebt
The typist loved @Dogstoyevsky winning song "White Horses" and the TV series when she was a youngster and this reminded her of another song from her youf, The Osmonds and "Crazy Horses". Happy Christmas to you all.

@diamondbertie
How clever of you to win with On White Horses, my mind kept thinking of a famous white horse Silver, so I choose the opening credits of The Lone Ranger someone said that true intellectual is someone who can listen to the William Tell Overture without thinking of the Lone Ranger. As a child I used to watch the Lone Ranger and looked forward to it every week.

An da winner as chosen by ................. me dad ............... dus be .................. @diamondbertie Bertie. Yay! Dat is me pal you dus choosin next week the first chainy of 2017.

Ere wot me dad said: Am I still doing this?! Hmm ok well ..... *jumps on horse* Hi Ho Silver and .............. away!!! I loved the lone ranger as a kid so that was an easy one. All the best for you and you families in 2017.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 307 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Megan wiv Horsey song whose name I can't remember (BOLBOL see what I dun there). Let's see what we gots this penultimate chainy week:

@maggietkat
Well done Megan with America's Horse with no name. I decided to look for bands whose names are countries. My pick is not quite countries, but their hit is all about "Down Under". Here is the video by Men at Work.

@skye613
Prepare to take a walkabout wif me. So Megan won with "A Horse With No Name". That is sad, he had no name. This dog has a name. In 2015 a documentary film was released entitled " A Dog Named Gucci "  This is the story of a dog & the man who saved him from being badly abused. It also chronicles the 7 year-long crusade to change & enforce stricter penalties for animal abuse. " One Voice " was written by Ruth Moody of The Wailin' Jennys and included in the film.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was a song by the band America….we tried hard to think about songs about horses and about bands named after countries but we drew a bit if a blank…and then we realised that the band America was full of young Americans…and so our link this week is to David Bowie and his song “Young Americans”.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Megan winned wiv da linky "A Horse With No Name".  Dat mean da hoss be nameless *logical ears* . Luckily for me there a group called Nameless so I choose for my linky their track called "Butterfly" cos it be a happy bop along songy.

@bunnersandharvs
So congrachoolashuns Megan fur da winnin linky 'Horse with no name' sung by America. We wos thinking we dus luv horses and dat old Mum did luv da groop America too. So whur we going wid a linky... Well, if dat horse didn't have a name, it must have been wild too which gots us thinking about da songy 'Wild Horses' by da Rolling Stones so we using it as our link dis week cos we been listenin to der new songy 'Just your fool'. So der you has our linky fur da week.

@diamondbertie
@maggietkat won with save a horse by Big and Rich. My choice this time is ALMOST withering a western theme. It comes from the film The Blues Brothers where they are singing Rawhide. The critics panned this film but the public liked it regardless.

@sonikebt
Well done @CloonfourMegan winning the link with "A horse with no name" This week we have chosen as our link a horse that is a name - Horse McDonald with (gets the mistletoe  ready) "So, kiss me".

@djladylexie
Horsies are still da feem. Well me usin a riddle for me linky. What horses can you ride that have no riders, no reins and no saddles? White horses .. thems is the crest of waves dussnt you know! Well here me song wot mum used to sing in her head when she rode her virchewal horse (a broomstick wiv mop an wheels) wot her inventive (but poor) dad made er instead of the real fing.

An da winner as chosen by ................. Megan ............... dus be ..................oh! piffle is me! grrrr still dat mean me dad gets to choose the last chainy of 2016 ... he will be so happy teehee.

Ere wot Megan said: Wot brill linkys this week. Very difficult to choose. There be lots of horses which make me a bit nervous but makes mum happy. We very moved by Linky 2 but in the end couldn't resist Linky 8 which also takes mum back to her childhood. Neigh!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 25th December 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 305 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv Donald Fagen's Nightfly. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Skye with the Doors and Riders in the Storm. I thought about Riders and Storms and there is a fun tune about riders. "Save a Horse. ride a Cowboy." By Big and Rich.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner chose by Miss Skye was Riders on the Storm….the most famous storm we can think of was Hurricane Katrina…which of course decimated the city of New Orleans a few years ago…so this week our linky is Katrina and the Waves singing “Walking on Sunshine”…

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Skye winned wiv "Riders On The Storm" by The Doors. *stares into space to get inspawrayshun * . Doors can be lotsa colours. My favrit colour is green cos of da grass n plants n trees n fings. So my linky dis week be "Green Door" by Shakin' Stevens. I hopes yoo likes dis YooToob vershun cos there be a luvvly doggie n two kittehs in cameo roles.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Skye won with The Doors and Riders on the Storm. I am scared of horses but go with the equine theme and A Horse With No Name.

@djladylexie
Doors, Riders on the storm eh? Hmmmm let me fink.I read that the song was inspired by (Ghost) Riders in the Sky: A Cowboy Legend by Stan Jones.  Ere be Johnny Cash version of dat song.

An da winner as chosen by ................. Skye ............... dus be ..................Megan! Yay! Well done me pal you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Skye said: All great minds this week, horses and doggies and kitties, oh my. Going with link-4. Which was followed closely by 3 & 5. Hard this week  pals, you are all so good!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 18th December 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 305 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv Donald Fagen's Nightfly. Let's see what we gots this week:

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie won with Nightfly by Donald Fagin. This made us fink of our favourite Fagin Reviewing The Situation in Oliver.

@claptonterrier
last week winner was Donald Fagan with the Nightly…Mr Fagan was famously in the band Steely Dan….that band took its name from a..ahem…thing in a William Burroughs book…and so this week our linky must have a literary theme….there are various bands whose names have come from literature…Steppenwolf..The Doors and Veruca Salt to name but three…but this week our entry is by Moby…who was named after Moby Dick…the celebrity whale from the Herman Melville book…and we have selected his song “Porcelain”…

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie winned wiv Nightfly by Donald Fagan. Fagan woz da baddie gang master in da Dickens tale Oliver Twist wot has been bowf a stage show moosical n a film. We lives not far from Rochester n there be a Dickens Festival on at da mo. Therefore I give yoo one of our favrit songs from da 1968 film "I'd Do Anything (For You"  n cos I'd do anyfink for my #lexieschain pals.

@skye613
So last week Maggie won with " Nightfly ". Way back when M was growing up there was a female DJ, Alison Steele, on WNEW in New York. One of the few at the time , she was known as the Night Bird. According to Jimi Hendrix's manager the song " Night Bird Flying " was inspired by Alison. If it was raining at the start of her late night show , she always led with The Doors " Riders On The Storm " , my linky this week.

@diamondbertie
Maggie won with Donald Fagen, Nightfly, I'd not heard it but I liked it, I'm not able to give a good link but I shall still have a go. It's that time of year where we are bombarded with Christmas songs some creating their own ear worms. My favourite has to be Fairytale of Christmas by the pogues.

@sonikebt
@MaggieTKat won the chain with "The Nightfly" from Donald Fagan's autobiographical album "The Nightfly". We are going autobiographical this week with a George Michael song which was written at the time he was trying to distance himself from his record company Sony and the image created for his album Faith. "Interestingly" the only shot of George in the video is of his bottom - a reference to the Saturday Night Live spoof of him shaking his ass in Faith. Our link is "Freedom 90".

@djladylexie
Me linky dus be hats. Ok let's see. Well, me readed that Donald Fagen (not fagan as I fort) was founding member of Steely Dan. I always get Steely Dan and Steeleye Span mixed up as to who is who. Steeleye Span had a song called All Around Me Hat. Donald Fagen's father was an accountant wot worked in the office of a hat maker! so me link is hats!

An da winner as chosen by ................. Maggie  ............... dus be ..................Skye! Yay! Well done me pal you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Maggie said: Winner is The Doors with Riders in the Storm. You all knew my favorites! Reviewing the Situation features Fagin at his best, Clever reasoning with I'd do anything, Night bird with the Doors, and the amazing Steeleye Span. I chose the Doors because it is dreary in St. Louis, I remember the Night Bird, and Riders is an early Jim Morrison before he got boozy and whipped out his you know.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 11th December 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 304 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Clapton wiv God (that is Dog backwards acchewlly) is a DJ by Rollo Faithless. Dog is a DJ ... get it!? Let's see wot we gots this week:

@sonikebt
@claptonterrier winning song last week was "God is a DJ" by Faithless. Well "I am an antichrist" - "Anarchy in the U.K." Sex Pistols

@djladylexie
God is a DJ from Faithless. My link does be singular names. What?! Well .. check it ... I am goin wiv Rolle > Dido > Eminem. Faithless front man is the amazin Rollo. Rollo also has a famous singer sister called Dido. Dido had a hit wivn Eminem an the very sad song Stan.  Dat me linky.

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with Faithless "I am a dj". This is one of me favorites songs about the gods that Djs can be, "Nightfly" by Donald Fagan.

@terenceterrier
Larst week little pal Clapton winned wiv a linky by da group Faithless wot headlined at da Isle of Wight festival. Dis got me finking abowt islands n moosishuns n songies wot be associated wiv dem. In 1977 da group Wings had a Christmas Numba 1 wiv a songy abowt a bull wot be a rare breed called da Mullock n comes from da Isle of Mull. My linky be " Mullock Entire".

Hangs on a minnit Mum interruptin. WOT ! Err she sez Sir Paul McCartney (who woz plain mister back then) bought High Park Farm in 1966 on da  Kintyre peninsula (wot will be an island if da narrow bit at Tarbert sinks into da sea) n da song rilly a tribute to da Mull of Kintyre. *embarrassed back tracking ears* . My linky be Wings performing "Mull of Kintyre " on da Mike Yarwood Christmas Show 1977 n wiv a lot of peeps playing bagpipes n drums.

@wotterface
Last week Clapton won with the dance classic by Faithless, God is a DJ. Faithless did another song about not being able to sleep, Insomnia. This reminded me of another song about not sleeping, Arcade Fire's Rebellion.

@diamondbertie
I had to think religion so my mind switch to Son of a Preacher Man I originally heard it by Dusty Springfield but searching YouTube I found a better version by Aretha Franklin.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sir Slowhand Clapton won with Faithless and God is a DJ. Well if he is then it's no wonder Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.

@sky613
Great choice, Sir Clapton! Couldn't resist this one. If " God is a DJ" , then it gets personal and music saves us all! My linky this week, "Personal Jesus"  Rock on pals!

An da winner as chosen by ..................Clapton ............... dus be ..................Maggie! Yay! Well done me pal you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot CT said: Hello there Miss Lexie. What a lot of very good links we have had this week. However, I think someone out there in Chainyland knows us too well and has picked one of our favourite songs by one of our favourite artists…well, when I say “we” i really mean accident blackspot @terriertypist…and so our winner this week is link 3 and “Nightfly” by Donald Fagan…*jazz paws*.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 302 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Terence wiv Free and All Right Now. Let's see wot we gots this week:

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Sir Terence won with a song played at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival…in 2016 that festival was headlined by the band Faithless and so this week our linky is their song…God Is A DJ.

@maggietkat
Well done Terence channeling Tucker! I got thinking about the song title All Right Now and thought and thought. Then lightning struck! There is an old jazzy standard "Alright. Okay. You win."  Many artists have covered the sing, but this one is by Peggy Lee.

@skye613
Another great win, Terence! Paul Rodgers and Andy Fraser wrote " All Right Now ". Paul also wrote " Radioactive ". While many are familiar with the tune by the same name from Imagine Dragons , this came out in 1985. This video is not a very good quality but check it out! Love The Firm.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week clever Tel won again with Free and Alright Now. We Lubs running free so we does pick the song with the same name by Iron Maiden *bangs head*.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Tel with Free and Alright Now. Wikipedia told us that one of the engineers on that record was a guy who was also an engineer for The Darkness so here's a bit of silly glam rock from them...

@sonikebt
Well done Sir Tel with last week's winning link "All Right Now" by Free. This song is about a guy picking up a girl for ... well ... *slightly embarrassed ears* you Only one song came to mind as our link this week."Creep" by Radiohead.

@djladylexie
Free was an english rock band. Their lead singer was Paul Rodgers who went to become front man of Bad Company. I dus give you one of the most awsomest songs from Bad Company - Feel Like Making Love.

An da winner as chosen by ..................Terence ............... dus be ..................Clapton! Yay! Well done me pal you dus be choosin next week,

Ere wot Tel said: Dis week I didn't know any of da linky toons so I had to keep playing dem agin n agin. It woz a close run fing but in da end I chooses linky 1.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 302 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv Da Who and The Kids Is Alright. Let's see wot we gots this week:

@skye613
Congrats Maggie! The Kids are Alright , I wonder about the parents. Sticking with kids & live, my link this week is " Teach Your Children" covered by Kathy Mattea, Alison Krauss & Suzy Boggus. This was performed at the White House. Peace.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie won with The Kids Are Alright by the Who. What a week it has been and we have to mark the passing of the irreplaceable Leonard Cohen following the theme of The Who with Who By Fire with the very pertinent lyrics Who in Mortal Chains Who in Power?

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie winned wiv "The Kids Are Alright" by The Who. Dis woz originally on da My Generation LP. Dis takes me niftily to my linky wot be "Alright Now" by Free cos it be enjoyed by same same generation of kids wot heard da original Who songy n it share da Alright werd. Cos it be Remembrance Sunday I remembas  Tucker who be a sadly departed lexieschain Champion n gives yoo a live vershun cos he luvved to do dat. Dis vershun woz recorded at da Isle of Wight Festival in 1970.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was The Who's The Kids Are Alright. The first line of that song is about watching your girl dance with other men and this song is about seeing someone you loved dancing with other people too. It's Robyn with Dancing on my Own.

@sonikebt
Well done @MaggieTKat winning the link last week. If the "The Kids are Alright" get your dancing shoes (& hats) on because the everything's gonna be alright. "It's alright" by East 17.

@djladylexie
Well done Maggie! My linky does be Everybody's Talkin' from Midnight Cowboy sun by Harry Nilsson. Why? Well, The Kids are Alright from The Who. The Kids Are Alright was also a 1979 rockumentary about the band. A week after the first rushes, Keith Moon, drummer in The Who died from an overdose. Eerily, Moon died in the very same flat that Cass Elliott also died in. The flat was owned by Harry Nilsson who believed the flat was cursed.

An da winner wot was decided by Maggie.............. is .....................................Terence! Yay! Well done me pal. You dus choose next week. (Ed: Might have to start calling this Tel's Chain BOLBOL - miss you Tucker!)

Ere wot Maggie said: I have an impossible task this week. Teach your children shows Mrs Clinton smiling ages ago before her losing battle this past week. Next, the passing of Leonard Cohen is near and dear to my heart. Finally, losing Tucker is never far from my mind.  Honorable mention is the Nilsson link. (He was HOT in the day!) I chose " Alright Now" by Free in Tucker's honor. Cheers dear corgi link master.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 301  of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Tel with T-Rex and Children of the Revolution.

@diamondbertie
The Children of the Revolution chosen by Terence had me in a real fix, then I thought of the composer Shostakovich a real child of the Russian revolution who composed The Gadfly Suite, the piece Romance is my choice the book and film Reilly Ace of Spies was a real spy who got involved and was murdered during the revolution.

@claptonterrier
last week Sir Terence won with a song by T-Rex….which of course is a dinosaur…so this week our link keeps the lizard theme going and we have picked “Money” by the Flying Lizards….(although I think someone a little more well known wrote the song…).

@wotterface
Last week's chain winner was T with T.Rex's Children of the Revolution. The 1990's indie band The Wannadies covered this song as Ann side for one of their singles so my pick this week is another of their songs, probably their most famous. You and Me Song.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence won with Children of the Revolution by T Rex. Gloria Jones sang with T Rex but before that she sang Tainted Love which was very popular in Northern Soul clubs and then covered by Marc Almond in Soft Cell creating a great 80s synth pop hit. So here it is.

@maggietkat
Well done Terence. Children of the revolution was the anthem of me college years. The Who were anthem bearers for secondary years.  Here is the grown up version of Kids are Alright.

@sonikebt
Well done Tel winning with T. rex and "Children of the Revolution". Now this did get us thinking about other bands that are named after extinct species and found this great song by The Dodos - "Fools"

@djladylexie
Well done Ter wiv children of the revolution. Marc Bolan tragtically died in a car accident. The driver was Gloria Jones, his girlfriend at the time. She met Bolan while performing in the musical Hair which is not about hair at all. So I choosin a song from the musical - Aquarius!

 An da winner wot was decided by Tel .............. was .....................................Maggie! Yay! Well done me pal. You dus choose next week.

Ere wot Tel said: Wowser wot a lotta cleva linkies - some of da songies I noes well n some new to me. It woz a close call between 5 n 7. But Roger Daltrey woz Mum's teenage idol n "The Kids Are Alright" one of her all time favrits so if  I dussnt want my treets wivheld I haz to go wiv Linky 5.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! @terenceterrier
Larst week Megan winned wiv The King of The Swingers singed by King Louie. *finks hard* King Louis XVI woz executed in 1793 during da French Revolution. So for my linky I gonna go wiv "Children of the Revolution " by T Rex.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgcxd9wtXUE

@wotterface
Last week Megan won with a song from her favourite film so my choice this week is a song from my favourite film. From the film Labyrinth is David Bowie with Underground.

http://youtu.be/CwVqOs3Aess

@claptonterrier
Last week our winning song was from the Jungle Book and featured the crossings of King Louie…in the recent remake of the film King Louie was played by the actor Christopher Walker….and so this week our linky is his most famous musical moment which saw him appearing in the video for Fat Boy Slim’s Weapons of Choice…

@sonikebt
Louies' and monkies and swinging, Oh My! Did you know that " I Wanna Be Like You " was covered in pop, country ,and swing! Big Bad Voodoo Daddy covered it so I am really excited to chose " Mambo Swing" . Love this band. There's swinging & monkies too!

@djladylexie
Louie is the king of the swingers! Well I bet you didn't know that there was a King of Swing too! His name was Benny Goodman and he an American jazz and swing musician, clarinetist and bandleader, known as the "King of Swing". I choosing a Benny Goodman hit sing sing sing!

An da winner wot was decided by Megan .............. was .....................................Terence! Yay! Well done me pal. You dus choose next week.

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 299 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Bertie wiv Louis Armstrong and All The Time in the World. Let's see wot we got this week:

@sonikebt
Well done @diamondbertie for winning the chain with "We have all the time in the world" by Louis Armstrong. The video to our choice this week focuses on an hourglass showing time running out. The song is "Chocolate" by Snow Patrol,

@skye613
Aww Bertie, what a great choice. So be sticking with time this week also. Louie says we have all the time in the world. Hmmmm, so how did Paul, Kanye & Rihanna discover a new time increment? " FourFiveSeconds " Never have I heard of this!

@maggietkat
Well done Bertie! I noticed your link was to James Bond. Here is another James Bond theme by Nancy Sinatra. Louis may have said  all the time, nancy says that You Only Live Twice.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Sir Uncle Bertie chose a song by Louis Armstrong…Mr Armsrtong, as well as being a ground-breaking trumpet player, was also the first man on the moon in 1969 and so this week our link is “Man on the Moon” by REM…

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Bertie won wiv Louis Armstrong and All The Time in the World. One of our favourite films is Jungle Book (the original not the new one) and we love King Louie (ok ok slightly different spelling) the King of the Swingers singing this.

@terenceterrier
Larst week clever Sir Uncle Bertie winned  wiv da linky "We Have All The Time In The World". Dis songy woz used in da James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". There be lotsa supa dupa songs in these movies so which wun  shall I link to? Well to be all Ying Ylang  ( or woteva) yoo will have da opposite n no time left in da werld if da sky falls in - dat woz summat dat Chicken Licken always worried abowt. So for my linky dis week I chooses da theme toon to da James Bond movie "Skyfall" wot be written n sung by Adele.

@djladylexie
Well done Bertie! We goin wiv The Temptations and Papa Was a Rolling Stone. What? How? Well Louis Armstrong was also known as Satchmo, a nickname that was shortened from Satchelmouth (because of his large mouth) by Melody Maker editor when he came to the UK. Another artist known for his big mouth is Mick Jagger. Jagger is lead singer of the Rolling Stones. The Temptations sang Papa Was A Rolling Stone. Simples!

An da winner wot was decided by dear Bertie .............. was ..................................... Megan! Yay! Well done me pal. You dus choose next week. I love dat song! Did you see the new movie Jungle Book I fort it was brilliant ... jus sayin.

Ere wot Bertie said: This has been a tough choice, I gave it a lot of thought.  The music and the reasons were all worthy in the end I settled for number five link because it makes me smile. Louis Armstrong 's mellow voice singing King of the Swingers did it for me. It was funny and in a way sad.

All the best to everyone who entered, I'm sorry you couldn't all be winners because (Ed: because? I guess we'll never know)

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Eighth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 298 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was El Tel wiv Sumfink Sumfink put this in later. Let's see wot we got this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Terence. Well, I figured if you could hold back the years, you could reelin' the years. Here is steely Dan.

@skye613
Terence winned the Lexieschainy with " Holding Back The Years" , good job pal! So if we hold the years, does this mean we are in a "Time Warp" ? A classic for my entry today.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel won wiv Slimpy Red and Holding Back the Years. We does wish we could hold back the years but instead we is holding out for a hero with the Welsh chanteuse Bonnie Tyler.

@claptonterrier
last week our winner was by the band Simply red…of course no one really thinks of them as a band because they are essentially Mick Hucknall and the rest…so this week our linky is another band of the same stripe…Jamiroquai….Jay Kay and some other dudes….and the song we have picked is Virtual Insanity…watch the video and tell me I’m wrong….

@sonikebt
Sir Tel's winning song last week "Holding back the years" talks about Mick Hucknall's fears after his mother left. Simon Le Bon wrote the lyrics from our choice this week based on fears for his band mate John Taylor due to his drug use. Our link is "Hold back the rain" by Duran Duran.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXkoNN0YzOo

@diamondbertie

Holding back the years, won I have to submit my choice of Louis Armstrong singing We Have All The Time In The world. We all want to hold back the years, and when we are young we think we have all the time in the world.

@djladylexie
Mick Hucknall was (and is) Simply Red. The band got their name from his red locks! I'm goin wiph redheads and choose Tori Amos and Cornflake Girl.

An da winner dus be ................. @diamondbertie wiph Louis Armstrong and We Has All The Time in the World! Well done to you Bertie .. you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Tel said: Fanks for da 7 linkies pals. There woz several songs I rilly liked n da linkies were clever so woz difficult to decide. In da end I goes wiv linky 6 wot be "we have all the time in the world" by Louis Armstrong.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 297 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Skye wiph Lady In Red from Chris De Burgh. Let's see wot we got this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Skye! One of my favorite tunes from "Woman in a Red Dress" was written by Stevie Wonder, "I just called to say I Love You".

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Skye winned wiv Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh. The B side of that single was Borderline and this was the title of a song Madonna sung. In 1986 the same year as Lady in Red was released Madonna released a colour themed Album True Blue and we choose Papa Don't Preach our favourite from that album.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was a song by Chris de Burgh….we see that Mr de Burgh was born in Argentina….we wondered if there were many other famous musicians born in Argentina…but we did not find any that we knew…but we did see that Che Guevara was born in Argentina and so this week our link is a song which speaks about him in its first line…

Our link is “Panic in Detroit” by David Bowie…"He looked a lot like Che Guevara, drove a diesel van”…woof.

@terenceterrier
Linky I gots to follow is Chris Da Burp n "Lady in Red". Da lady woz wearing a dress wot woz simply red.  Cos Iz not getting any younger I chose their hit songy "Holding Back The Years" as my linky.

@sonikebt
Well done @skye613 on winning the chain with "Lady in Red". Our typist has a bit of an aversion for Chris de Burgh because she shares her name with another of his well known songs about a stripper. If we had a gravy bone for every time someone thought it was funny to sing her the song we would be very very fat! So, shouts very loudly, "That's Not My Name" by The Ting Tings.

@djladylexie
Hmmm Chris de Burgh - yuk yuk. The song was written about his wifey wot he first saw wearin a red dress. Her name is Diane - so here's to Chris and Diane. I'm going with young love and names. So  here's a little song about Jack and Diane from John Mellencamp.

An da winner dus be Terence wiph Simply Red and Holding Back The Years! Blimey Tel you are on a roll me pal! Well done to you .. you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Skye said: Well done all, best links. Number 4 made me laugh and it's a great tune. Congrats!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 9th October 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 296 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Terence wiph Come On Eileen from Dexy's Midnight Runners. Let's see what we gots:-

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…i see that Dexy’s Midnight Runners was the winning link last week….they were lead by a man called Kevin Rowland…but he is not the only famous singing Roland…oh no…there is also Roland Rat….so this week our link is Rat Rapping….sorry about that…oh dear.

@skye613
I must confess that I spent at least 2 days tapping head with paw trying to find the linky. Then I read the lyrics! " That pretty red dress, Eileen ( tell him yes) Oh my dog! Is Eileen Chris DeBurgh's " Lady In Red ?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt2YIpZWBqA&feature=em-share_video_user

@maggietkat
Well done Terence with "Come on Eileen" by Dexie's Midnight Runners.  I have a double link for you today! Come on Eileen was a one hit wonder from the 80's and a graduate school fave. (Picture many geeks doing the arm pumps.) As we found out, Dexie's is a dru-uhh. The other 80's one hit wonder fave was "Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. The village reminds me of Hieronymus Bosch paintings. Of course, ergot mold produces a hallucinogen which grew on wheat for bread making which Bosch undoubtedly partook. (picture Geeks practicing the overhead arm swing).

@sonikebt

The winning song from last week, "Come on Eileen" is about Kevin Rowland's first love/lust. Our choice this week takes a slightly more innocent view of first love in "The Garden Rules" by Snow Patrol.

@djladylexie
Dexy's had quite a few hit singles includin Jackie Wilson Said. I'm in heaven when you smile. The original song was recorded by Van Morrison. Continuing wiv da feme of men in love wiv women so we go wiv Brown Eyed Girl from Van Morrison.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence won wiv Dexys Midnight Runners & Come on Eileen. Dexys also sang Jacky Wilson Said so we pick Jacky Wilson singing Reet Petite.

An da winner dus be @skye613 wot won wiv Lady In Red from Chris De Burger mmmm burgers!

Ere wot Tel said: Fanks for da linkies my pals. I definitely likes fings wot be somewhat off da wall so woz tempted to go wiv linkie 1 due to my terrier fascination wiv all fings rattie. But I woz impressed dat a pal read da lyrics to get to one of my all time favrits. Plus I be sitting here wearing my brand new red padded harness *sings* "Terrier in Red mmmm be walking wiv me la la la ....". Oops got carried away I choose linky 2.

Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 295 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiph Comfortably Numb from Pink Floyd. Let's see what we gots:-

@skye613
"Comfortably Numb" was a song of my youth. Pink Floyd spoke the words of a generation. Along down the road we traipse as each year goes by. And now with a " Touch Of Grey " , the words still resonate.

@cloonfourmegan
Lexie won with Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb last week. Back in the day the Floyd did benefit gigs for the International Times which reported the squatter activism of the brother of a man in the news this week. Piers Corbyn older bro of Jezzer. These days Piers forecasts weather so we pick some Weathergirls with the fantastic It's Raining Men!

@diamondbertie
Well done with your choice of Pink Floyd and Comfortably Numb, a dark and rhythmic piece, my mind kept swinging to Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel.

@maggietkat
Well done Lexi with Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. I got thinking about mascots and realized that many are animals. Eric Burden was to obvious, so I thunk some more. Animals can be pets. Aha! Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys (so named because the music was Brian's "pet sounds" he was experimenting with not to mention LSD). My link this week is the hauntingly beautiful number about the loss of innocence, " Caroline No".

@terenceterrier
Sits down pals n put ya paws up. Paw yerself a Baileys cos we may be here a while. Larst week Lexie tells us abowt da macot wot wos a face wiv a grin. I fink dis mite be a smiley. Smileys can be summat wot da druggies take. According to da Talk to Frank website Smileys be da substance piperazine. (WOT ! do dese nimcompoops know dey be taking wormer tablets ? But I digress  ... ) Dis chemical mimics da effects of da drug ecstasy n bowf be stimulants. Annuva in dis category be dextroamphetamine wot  be known as Dexies. * Da group Dexys Midnight Runners took their name afta dis. They had a hit wiv “ Come On Eileen” wot gonna  be my linky *prods pals to wake dem up.

@sonikebt
Well done Lexie winning the chain last week with Pink Floyd. Our boy has just discovered Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon thanks to his physics teacher (apparently all physics teachers like this album). So this got us thinking about bands who have made concept albums & one of our favourites from 70's era was Genesis. Our link this week is our most favourite Genesis song - " Follow You Follow Me"

Ere wot me dad said: all great links. Love Genesis! But I liked the dexies link very err .... comprehensive! I'm going with that. Well done all.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 2nd October 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 294 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Sound of Silence by Disturbed. Let's see what we go this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Skye with Disturbed and Sounds of Silence. I thought a lot and a lot, and figured I would pick out disturbing lyrics in an album you had to play at 11 when you were at university.  Here are the Violent Femmes with "Country Death Song".

@cloonfourmegan
Well done Skye for winning last week with the Sound of Silence. We continue with the theme of Sound and choose a totally different time song The Sound of the Suburbs. The antidote to boring Sunday mornings!

@wotterface
Last week the winner was a cover version of "Sound of Silence" so we've gone with another song about silence that has lots of cover versions, I'm choosing the original though...Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence.

@terenceterrier
Okie doxie I needs a linky to follow on from “Sound of Silence” singed by some very scary lookin blokes wot were Disturbed. My linky be a nifty side step to “Silence Is Golden” but I goes for a diffrent vershun to da 1960’s original. Dis be by Jim Jidhed who be a Swedish rock singer.

@sonikebt
@Skye613 won the chain with "Sound of Silence". We think that music is the Art of Noise and our link this week is their song "Moments in Love".

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Miss SKye won with the Sound of Silence….when looking at this song we noticed that it was no.1 in the American charts on 1 January 1966 …which was the year that my ancient typist was born…so our link this week is the song that was no.1 in the American charts on the last day of 1966…I’m a Believer by The MOnkeess.

@djladylexie
Wow what a song! That has totally changed my view of that songy. Well anyway, let me find a linky. Disturbed I read has a mascot called The Guy, originally just a drawing of a face with a large grin. That got me finkin, wot uvva bands as ad a mascot.

I fink ma most favourite as got to be Pink Floyd wiv the pig wot first appeared around 1977 when Floyd begain their In The Flesh tour. Pig also appears in The Wall concerts and I am choosing annuva dark (to me anyway) song from The Wall, This has also been covered by others. Comfortably Numb.

Aside: THE best album to movie in the world ever... FACT.

An da winner as chosened by Maggie dus be ................... oh flippin flip!! Grrr is me again oh blimey I dussnt like keep winnin! Oh dad not gonna be appy.

Ere wot Skye  said: Fabulous links this week! Loved #3 but the link that connected via mascots was brilliant. Winner this week #7. Fact!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 25th September 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 293 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiph Red Red Wine from Neil Diamond. Let's see wot we got this week.

@terenceterrier
Pal Maggie winned wiv da linky “Red Red Wine” singed by Neil Diamond. Red wine can be ruby in colour. Diamond is a precious gem n annuva is ruby. My linky gonna be “Ruby Don’t Take Your Love To Town” by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. Dis songy abowt an paralysed war veteran. Today be 9/11 when nasty terrorists attacked da USA Twin Towers n there be lotsa peeps still seriously disabled as a result. So I finks abowt dem.

@sonikebt
Well done @MaggieTKat for the win with Neil Diamond and "Red Red Wine". UB40 covered this song without knowing it was by Mr Diamond. UB40 have reggae'd up a few classic songs in their time and our link this week's is their version of "I got you babe" featuring Chrissie Hynde.

@skye613
Congrats to Maggie. Excellent tune & artist, but today I must digress. My link today is to 9/11. Today & everyday we must make our words heard over the silence.

@diamondbertie
@maggietkat won with Neil Diamond singing Red Red Wine my choice is the theme music from the western Red River.

@wotterface
Last week Maggie won with a Neil Diamond song. Diamonds are precious sparkly things that are made under great pressure. So I have chosen a song about pressure by Maximo Park...

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie won wiv Red Red Wine by Neil Diamond. We were finking of other pop stars called Neil and finked of Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy. So here they are wiv National Express which you need to travel on if you have drunk too much red red wine!

@djladylexie
Neil Diamond sung the original and UB40 sang it too with their unique reggae sound. UB40 were formed by the Campbell brothers. They were sons of folk musician Ian Campbell who was a Scottish folk singer. His band were cunningly entitled the Ian Campbell Folk Group. A member of the group was Dave Swarbrick, one of the world's most well done fiddle players. A famous session musician in his own right, Swarbrick worked on many Fairport Convention albums. I'm choosing a song from Sandy Denny their lead singer Where The Time Goes in honour of the fallen of 9/11. Rest in peace.

An da winner as chosened by Maggie dus be ................... skye!! Yay well done me pal. So you be choosin next week me pal.

Ere wot me Maggie said: I am choosing The Sound of Silence by Disturbed. I feel that this version of one of my most loved songs is very appropriate for 9/11. Thanks to everyone for great tunes.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one!
