Hello pals, dis just a general post about Lexie's Chain and see how fings goin and where we are at this stage in da game.

On the down side, I has been at it again wiv ma delete key an av deleted a few linkies even when I said I received em. What can I say? Well .... first let me say I really sorry abowt it and I dussnt do it on purpose! I feel terrible every time and I am finking of ways to try to stop it appenin.

Lexies Chain: The Sixty-Seventh Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 67 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to ma dad to choose on ma behalf. Last week we ad The KLF and 3am Eternal. So let's av a look at dem now.

During the Brit Awards 1992 The KLF criticised the music business with firing machine gun blanks into the audience. 5 years later while accepting MTV Video Music Award for "Best New Artist" for her song Sleep to Dream, Fiona Apple said: 'This world is bullshit, and you shouldn't model your life on what we think is cool, and what we're wearing and what we're saying'.

When I was watching the KLF video, I spied something like Stonehedge about to be bulldozed. I immediately thought of "Stonehedge" recorded by Spinal Tap and featuring commentary bu Nigel Tufnel. Previous names of KLF were The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu/The KLF/The Timelords, which fits with the theme of timeless and ancient legends. As a young male cat, I think Spinal Tap humor is like really funny. MaggieTKat says I am just a juvenile delinquent.

me not know nufin’ bout dis KLF, but 3am eternal title reminded me ob Wendesday Morning 3 AM song from album ob da same name by Simon & Garfunkel so me suggest me faborite song from dat album “Sparrow”. Sparrow from Wendesday Morning 3 AM Album by Simon & Garfunkel.

Ha, KLF! Love it! In homage to their wackiness I hav decided to do a wacky linky. Well the KLF had a thing for the lost continent of Mu (naturally) and, indeed, were also known as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu and were bound for Mu Mu Land! Mu Mu always makes me think of Homer Simpson wearing a Muumuu when he intentionally becomes clinically obese to avoid work in the Simpsons episode "King sized Homer". Homer's favourite band was Grand Funk Railroad and their biggest hit was a cover of "The Locomotion". The railroad/locomotive theme also links to another of KLF's biggest hits which was "Last Train To Trancentral". So my choice this week is The Locomotion by Grand Funk Railroad :-)

Well done Lexie on last week's win giving us 3am Eternal. The KLF were Bill Drummond & Jimmy Cauty. Cauty with Alex Paterson was part of The Orb in the the late eighties to 1990. At the time The Orb were renowned for their ambient chill out tracks. Tunes which you would often want to listen to at 3am after a hard night's raving. My favourite is the linky this week Little Fluffy Clouds. What were the skies like when you were young?

Dat wus a supa choicy of songy wong by da Lexie last week ragardless of all dat #lexiegate poop! So wot dus a paw go wid dis week? It dus be The Shamen's Ebeneezer Goode. Why? Well is a contraveshul song in da moosic world cus da songy is supposed to be about drugs wot ain't good fur you but den wot da hecky fire! Dey wus chosen cause dey wus influenced by KLF House moosic style and dey wus being different like wot da KLF wus in der day too.

we did see dat you chose KLF as your song last week and we kno the man from KLF was famuss for burnin £1 million. That make us fink of film by Clint Eastwood called Million Dollar Baby......Mr Eastwood also did film called Bird bout life of Charlie Parker who be musician and of corse there was famuss film called Birdie by Alan Parker (one of our favrits) and Peter Gabriel do mosssics for that film so our chain this week be Sledgehammer by Pater Gabriel

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 66 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Tucker (@bvfeyj) to choose. Last week we ad Bobby McFerrin and Drive. So let's av a look at dem now.

Bobby McFerrin. Wow. When I think of Bobby McFerrin, I recall the Grammy award winning album by the Manhattan Transfer, "Vocalese". The album features both McFerrin and John Hendricks. Hendricks has been credited as one of the leaders in skat singing. Hendricks collaborated with Janis Siegel on an earlier project, "Extensions". That collaboration on the chart "Birdland" also earned Grammies for both the group and Siegel and Hendricks as duo arrangers.

The original Birdland was a club in NYC where all the jazz cats played. It was named after Charlie "Yardbird" Parker, just as I am named Parker. Mom has seen ManTran performing this chart many times, so it is very special to us. Please ejoy this live version of "Birdland".

Hmm, must find a link to Drive by Bobby McFerrin. Ok, well Drive is from the Album entitled Don't Worry, Be Happy and the title track from this album is Mr McFerrin's most famous song. Don't Worry, Be Happy is a great whistling song and another of my favourite whistling songs is Patience by Guns N Roses. Also, Driving can be very stressful these days with so much traffic about so sometimes we all need a little patience when we drive ;-) So my choice is Patience by Guns N Roses.

Last week we did hab "Drive" by Bobby McFerrin. His father Robert McFerrin, Sr. was an opera star. In 1950 he became the first African-American to star at The Metropolitan Opera. Another famous operatic singer of the same time period was Mario Lanza who played The Great Caruso in da 1951 film ob dat name about da life ob da famous tenor Enrico Caruso who was Mario Lanza's idol. So me suggest his first million selling recording "Be My Love" tho dis not opera.  "Be My Love" by Mario Lanza

Last week we had Drive by Bobby McFerrin. Mr McFerrin was famous for his unusual singing style known as multiphonic singing. Other performers who used this in their music include the KLF. The most famous song from The KLF is Justified and Ancient which did feature Country singer Tammy Wynette. Ms Wynette did a famous song called Stand by Your Man.

Another artist who did have a song of the same name is LL Cool J. He did record another song what is claimed to be the 1st ever rap ballad - I Need Love. So, that is my suggestion for this week's #lexieschain.

Ok. Drive by Bobby McFerrin – mmmmm let me fink. Ok Bobby McFerrin sings in intersting throat, chanting an harmonic singin. The KLF is also famus for dis type of singin and so I chooses dere hit song 3am eternal by KLF!

Last week's winning entry from Tucker featured Bobby McFerrin performing Drive. One of the noises he produced was an echo. This made me think of another artist who sang as if to create an echo. The artist I thought of was the great comedienne Joyce Grenfell & the song was Joyful Noise.

Well da dischushuns & paw tapping dis week means we dus go wid Zapp Mama's Drifting because dey wus influenced by da Bobby McFerrin. Dey dus have variety of songy wongs but why dus we choose dis songy you say? We says cus when Mum dus DRIVE sometimes she dus drift away thorting abowt wot treats to buys us next. You drifting, you keep on drifting doo dee dah doobee doo... BOL!

Last week's winner was Drive by Bobby McFerrin, we all thought and thought and here is the only one we could come up with Nat "King" Cole's Route 66, It was so connected to cars and driving.
