Hello pals! Welcome to Week 73 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Teence to choose. Last week we ad The Killing Moon from Echo and the Bunnymen wot Marley won! Let's have a look at the entries for this week:

The Bunnymen! I wonder if they do like Carrotinis. Well, bunnies and rabbits, rabbits and bunnies. The Bunnymen love for sure "Hat, meet rabbit - Rabbit, meet hat" from Gaba Kulka. So will bunny whisperer Marley?

Since Marley’s winning linky last week was by Echo and The Bunnymen I decided to look for a bunny connection. My linky for this week is “Rabbit” by Chas & Dave.

Right. Listen carefully. I will only say dis only once. The winning linky last week by that cleva clogs @marleyterrier was The Killing Moon by Echo & The Bunnymen. So wiv killing an bunnies involved this puts me in mind of the film “Fatal Attraction” where the phrase Bunny Boiler was coined after the character played by actress Glenn Close killed and boiled the family’s pet rabbit. Glen Close narrated the story “The Emperor & The Nightingale” for Rabbit Ears Productions and also performed at Carnegie Hall taking part in the concerto “The Runaway Bunny”. But amongst our canine pals she is best known for her part as Cruella De Vil in “101 Dalmatians” by Disney in 1996. In that film she had plenty of killing planned of innocent pups although some bunnies did help in the rescue mission so they could escape from her mansion. So (still wiv me?) for the linky I choose the song “Cruella De Vil” from that movie. It is sung by Selena Gomez.

Last week we did hab Killing Moon - Echo And The Bunnymen a great pick by @marleyterrier which @terenceterrier did wisely choose as da winner. Dis maked me fink ob songs about da moon, but den me did fink dat you not see da moon in da daytime, you see da moon at night which ob course is after sundown. Den me remembered da wonderful song “Hurry Sundown” by The Outlaws. See his shadow in da light ob da moon - hear da gypsies call!

Well done to da cleva paws Marley for choosin da chainy last week - was a good one. So wot dus one go wid afta dat? Well fur inspurashun we did put on rainycoats and did bounce round like bunnies based on da songy last week and den said hey why not go wid 'Doris Day's - By the Light of the Silvery Moon BOL!

A well deserved first win in ages for @marleyterrier; congratulations & celebrations.
On to the linky: Ian McCulloch was one of the founding members of Echo & the Bunnymen, but in 1998 he was part of England United, a collaboration with the Spice Girls, Ocean Colour Scene & Space who recorded the the official 1998 World Cup football song - Top of the World.

However, this song was not as popular as the previous official England World Cup song by EnglandNewOrder : World in Motion. New Order were great friends with the Bunnymen having been on tour together around North America in 1987. This song was New Order's only chart topper but my link shall be another of their songs, the biggest selling 12 inch of all time: Blue Monday.

I was listening to last week's winner The Killing Moon by Echo & The Bunnymen, I heard it for for first time, and I really liked it.  I want to keep the theme of the moon but a different mood, The Killing Moon was sad and yet haunting.  My choice is Under The Moon of Love by Showaddywaddy. Why? It makes my feet tap and however sad or miffed I am it makes me smile, we all need to smile.

Ok here is ma linky. Echo was ackhewlly a drum machine wot dus be an electronic instrument wot imitates the sound of drums and uvva percusshun intstruments. Radiohead used electric piano, drum machine and computer manupliashuns of sounds. So, I chooses their track Everything In Its Right Place by Radiohead.

We dus say congrachulashuns to Terrence for a terrific linky last week! So den we been having many discussions over noms and said wot does foller Rod Stewart and well we says da linky dis week is Phil Collin's 'I Can Feel It In The Air Tonight'! Why you ask? Well because last week Roddy's songy was not only about tonite bein da nite for dem *giggles - cus dey was doing da wiggy* but it wus also about da beginning of a relashunship - he was woo wooing da girlly saying we is gonna get togetha and then Phil's songy not only has toonite in but it is about da end of a relashunship. Seems he was bitta wid his exy wifey! So has a start & da end!

Huge well done to Terence on his brilliant second win last week, not just a one win wonder at all. My linky is The Man With The Golden Gun by Lulu. Why I hear you ask? Well like Rod Stewart, Lulu is also Scottish. More interestingly, Britt Ekland was the Bond girl in The Man With The Golden Gun & was also Rod Stewart's girl at the time when Tonight's The Night was made. She can even be heard performing the whispers on the record.

Okay, for a linky to @terenceterrier's Rod Stewart song “Tonight’s the Night”... dis one bery difficult because dere soooo many wonderful possibilities! Rod was heavily influenced by Sam Cooke and Bob Dylan and he covered songs by boaf, including "Tomorrow Is Such a Long Time" from his album Every Picture Tells a Story. Me not finded da Bob Dylan version on You Tube but Rod's cover is great anyway so we listen to it!  "Tomorrow Is Such a Long Time" Rod Stewart

Last week's winner was Rod Stewarts Tonight's the Night, my best idea for this week is Tom Jones' Love me Tonight. Why they are both songs of love and longing and pleasures of the night,  err hem.

Well done Terence wiv your winning entry last week. Rod Stewart did be singing 'Handbags and Gladrags'. This song was written by Chris Farlowe who has a long association with the legendary Van Morrison. They toured together and guested on each others music. So this linky is 'You don't pull no punches but you don't push the river' by Mr Van Morrison cos it dus be our fave. (to be honest mum choose dis weeks linky cos she luv Mr M! -- I call it hijacking).

We did see that Terrunce did choose a song by Rod Stewart. We see dat Rod the Mod's first solo record be called An Old Raincoat Wont Ever Let You down. This made us fink of Leonard Cohen song Famous Blue Raincoat but we fink dat too gloomy so we fink about bands wot ave links to raincoats so we did fink of Echo & The Bunnymen who wored em all the time...and so our chain duss be Killing Moon by E&TBM wot you can listen to here.

The winning linky last week “Live in a hiding place” puts me in mind of the famous actress Greta Garbo who is famously associated with the quote in the movie Grand Hotel “I want to be alone” which in similar forms appears in many of her other movies. In relation to her personal life she loathed the publicity and similarly said “I want to be let alone”. So I choose the lovely song “On My Own” by Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald.

Kelso dun Idlewild, Living in a Hiding Place. Idlewild album The Remote art was launched in the US in March 2003 and dis evenchully led to them opening Pearl Jam's Riot Act world tour. They become good friends wiv Pearl Jam an also supported them for a one-off concert at Wembley. Pearl Jam also dun a song called In Hiding wot is linky for hiding AN for Idlewild. However, my favourite Pearl Jam does be Alive wot you might feel after you bin in hidin for a long time!

I hadn’t heard of group Idlewild before so I looked em up I sees dey iz Scottish rock band an hav a group member called Rod and annuva with surname Stewart. So I haz to go with a linky by the superstar rocker Rod Stewart who is very proud of his Scottish roots. I choose “Tonight’s the Night”.

Oh da Kelso is making us think *rubs paws* we dus be going wid da songy and says cus da Idlewild songy be about hiding we has gone with Adele. Why? One cus her name dus sound simalar to Idlewild ta us *snorts* not rilly but & two, da songy is 'Hiding My Heart' which dus be followin da songy wot Kelso chose so we dus say she put hur heart in da hidin place.

Well done Mr Kelso-your song last week by Idlewild makes me think of JFK Airport cos dat used to be called Idlewild airport. My linky is 'Airport' by Guster. It do be a beautiful but sad song.

Last week Briar did choose Kelso’s linky “Live in a Hiding Place” by Idewild. Kelso did tell us lots ob stuff about Idewild- (band name, album name, & place in Anne of Green Gables) but forgot to mention or not know dat Idewild is also da name ob an amusement park! It is 3rd oldest amusement park in USA dat still in operation today and it right here in me own state! (Mom went dere when she was little!) So me linky is 1962’s “Palisades Park” by Freddie “Boom Boom” Cannon a tribute to annuvver amusement park dat did close in 1971. A roundabout linky me fink, but a GREAT song and a fun bideo ob da park & stuff!

The lead singer of Idlewild, Roddy Woomble is married to the bassist in the Glaswegian punk-folk band Sons & Daughters, Ailidh Lennon. Sons & Daughters third album: This Gift was produced by Bernard Butler. Bernard Butler was one half of Suede; the other half being Brett Anderson. My linky shall be my fav Suede song: Animal Nitrate.

for this weeks chain I did be finkin bout Idlewild. I found Idlewild was also the original name for JFK Airport in New York. And then I did fink about John F Kennedy and i see he has Centre For Performin Arts named after him in New York too. So i look up website for dat place ...and it say there that Singer-songwriter John Legend joined the Kennedy Center to launch “What’s Going On…NOW,” to mark 40th anniversary of lornch of Marvin Gaye's epic Whats Goin On. We do say well done to Briar for da selcshun last week. You is cleva paw so wot dus other paws do you ask? Well, we has gone wid da choicy of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong dis week. Why? Well der was a whispa dey was involved wid each other and well 'Everything But The Girl' group dus be sekretive abowt da fact dey is a couple too. Dey wus also influenced by Ella & Louis too so we dus go wid dis linky for da week 'Our Love is Here to Stay'.  Hit it baby.... la la doodle eoo our love is here to stay.....

Last week winning linky song was “I don’t want to talk about it”. If peeps aren’t talking then it will be quiet. So my choice this week is “Silence is Golden” which was a no 1 hit for The Tremeloes.

Last weeks winner was Everything But The Girl with I Don't Want To Talk About It. If nobody talked about it then it would be a very quiet place. There was a very quiet meeting place in Anne of Green Gables called Idlewild. This place is where the band Idlewild got their name and Idlewild is also the name of the EBTG Album that features I Don't Want To Talk About It. The two members of EBTG are very private about their relationship and personal life and have not performed publicly since 2000 and, for this reason (as well as it it being my favourite Idlewild song) I have chosen "Live In A Hiding Place" as my link this week.

Well----Everything But The Girl are a band from the town of Hull (Kingston Upon). My beloved grandparents do live in Hull and I do love to visit them and sit on their laps and squash them a little. My Grandads favourite song is 'Lilly The Pink' by The Scaffold. He dus sing it a lot and has done for the past 40 years! It always makes me wag my tail and grin. So this is my happy chainy.

Ok .. Everyfink but the girl wiv I don't wanna talk about it. Ben Watt an Tracey Thorn is married couple wot be EBTG. The song I Don' t Wanna Talk About It is bowt how someone who had her heart broken. Well when you gets your heart broken you fink is never gonna get better but it dus and sometimes better fings come out of it. So my choice of song is Better Things from Massive Attack wot Tracey Thorn does sing most fantastically!
