Hello pals. Welcome to week 360 of Lexie's Chain. This is the final chainy of 2017 after which we will know who dus the winner be! Last week was Terence wiv Revolution from The Beatles. Let's see what we got this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with Revolution. I have witnessed many revolutions in my life but one went unnoticed until Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber. His musical about PerĂ³n and his wife Eva brought to light the labor and economic policies in Argentina. My link is “A New Argentina”.

@skye613
The last Chainy of the year. And what a year it has been around our world. The Beatles tune " Revolution" was about the Vietnam War. The word Revolution was only sung 1 time.  That is a silent revolution. And the world is silent as some try to isolate and create friction. My linky this week " Sounds of Silence ". The original.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence win wiv the Beatles and Revolution. We fink it be good to have a nice revolution so we picks Tracy Chapman and Talking About A Revolution...Sounds like a whisper.

@claptonterrier

Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was Revolution by the Beatles. The Beatles actually recorded three songs with a similar name…the others are Revolution No. 1 and Revolution No. 9, both featured on the White Album. Of course the Beatles were very famous for having so many No. 1 records so this week our linky is their ninth chart-topper (see what we did there?)..which was Day Tripper….at least in the UK…

Marie Antoinette woz told by her government peeps dat da poor French people were starving n had no bread n she sed "Then let them eat cake". She obvussly had no idea wot rill happening in da country n da masses started da C French Revolushun n dey chopped off her head wiv da guilloteen. @claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie....last week Lady Megan won with a song by the band DNCE....we spent a while reading about them and about their linky song. @djladylexie
Megan wond wiv Cake by the ocean by DNCE. I'm more of a savoury kinda girl meself especially if they is sossidges involved! BOL. Sossiges are great wiv breakfast of beans, eggs and bacon. @maggietkat
Well done Skye with The Warmth of the Sun by The Beach Boys.  The song got lots of play time during the Vietnam War. Actually, it was written by Brian and Mike the day before and day of President Kennedy's assassination. The Kennedy presidency has been described as Camelot. My link this week is “Camelot” from the play/movie of the same name.

@terenceterrier
So larst week Skye win win da Beach Boys n "warmth of the sun". We could all do wiv dat at da mo cos it cold enuff to freeze da wotsits off here. So to keeps warm we need to follow the sun n find da sunpuddles again. My linky duss be "Follow The Sun" by Xavier Rudd. Da offishul video be filmed in Aussie land wot has summer when we norvern hemisphere furs haz winter.

@cloonfourmegan
Hi my lubberly pal
Last week Skye did win with the Beach Boys. Another word for Beach is Ocean. We lubs cayk so what could be better than Cake by the Ocean.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was The Warmth of the Sun by the Beach Boys...all very well I say but the warmth of the sun can be a dangerous thing....just ask Icarus...the boy who flew too close to the sun so that it melted his homemade wings and he fell to earth....so this week our link Is Thea Gilmore with Icarus Wind....(sorry about the long advert at the start of the video).

@sonikebt
@Skye613 did win with “Warmth of the Sun” by the Beach Boys. Well there has been no warmth from the sun this week in fact it has been Frozen so “Let it go” performed by Idina Menzel.

@djladylexie
There's nuffink nicer than the sun on your face, makin you feel warm and happy. Problem is there's always somewhere the sun ain't shinin. Course, Aha told us that the sun always shines TV.

An da winner as chosen by ....................... Skye  ................................ dus be ....................................................... Megan! Yay well done me pal you choosin next week!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifty Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 357 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was me Clapton wiv somefink really horrible which is best forgotten heehee. Let's see wot we gots this week:

@sonikebt

Congrats to Sir Clapton for winning with “You suffer” by Napalm Death. Napalm Death’s music is part of the Death Metal and Grindcore genre about which we know very little. With the help of our 17 year old we explored some other new to us music and have chosen a song from the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) genre which is a little more soothing than “You suffer”. Our chosen artist is cited as an influence for Radiohead’s Kid A album. Our link this week is “Xtal” by Aphex Twin.

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with the shortest song ever! I decided to look at the opposite of suffer and find a song that makes me smile. I found one that fills this thought but also has in the title “good”. Here is James Brown singing his classic, “I Got You (I Feel Good)” .

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sir Clapton won wiv Napalm Death and You Suffer. The second line of this great lyrical fest is Why so we chooses Annie Lennox singing Why.

@skye613
Well done Sir Clapton! So napalm sends me to Vietnam. And Vietnam will always bring to mind theRobin Williams film " Good Morning Vietnam. "My linky this week " The Warmth of the Sun" from the soundtrack. And the sun is warm like napalm! BOL

@terenceterrier
So after a long wait our favrit knitted dog Sir Clapton wins da chainy wiv da linky "You Suffer" by Napalm Death. *whispers*  I worries abowt him I rilly duss cos all dat jogglin abowt on bikes seems to have unhinged his brain. *sets up YouCaring fundraiser to get da little woolly chap into a retreat*. But back to da serious bizniss. Dat song (using da term loosely) woz da shortest track ever released. Fank dog ! At da other end of da scale da longest song ever to get to numba 1 in da UK charts woz "All Around The World " by Oasis. I give you da offishul video as my linky. It is memorable not just cos of all da Sgt Pepper like animayshuns but cos near da end Liam Gallaher iz standing next to his bruvver Noel n  aktually seen to SMILE !

@djladylexie
Cheerful little number that and a rather pleasant singing voice NOT heehee. Napalm Death are an extreme death metal band (which is code for a 'load of crap')more like wishing-you-were-deaf metal I reckon. Death metal is a sub-genre of metal.  I love to av a google on fings so I decided to find out what the polar opposite of death metal is and, well according to Spotify and its 'the opposite of every genre' blog it is Reggae Roots, also a sub-genre of reggae. That sounds far more pleasant what, what? So here we go, a nice lickle Roots Reggae number for ya which is one of the top roots reggae numbers of all time from Mr Robert Marley (ahem) himself Jamming by Bob and the Wailers. Reminds me of that joke

How does Bob Marley like his doughnuts?
Wi' jam in! ('We jammin')

An da winner as chosen by ....................... Clapton ................................ dus be ........................................................ Skye! Yay well done me pal you choosin next week!

Ere wot Clapton said: Hello Miss Lexie. Another good haul of seasonal selections in our Chainy Christmas e-mail this morning. We always enjoy the links and thinking that our pals have done. As we celebrated the 5th anniversary of old Marley passing OTRB this week we were very tempted to choose linky 6 but that seemed a bit self-indulgent for us to do so instead we are choosing linky 4. This is because we have been watching the new 10-part series about the Vietnam war recently (highly recommended via iPlayer) and the Beach Boys are always good for cheering up a cold and windy December day. Hurrah! Well done to all the players.
