Lexie's Chain: The Four Hundred and Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 406 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Maggie wiph Jungle Book I wanna be like you ooooo oooo. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie did win wiv Louis Rimer and I want to be like you. This song be from the Jungle Book animated film and sings about a monkey who wants to be a man. So we give you The Specials singing about the Monkey Man.

@claptonterrier
Hello Lady Lexie…this week I am registering a protest about last week’s chain….your dad claimed he chose the clip because of the Orangutan…but I am told that King Luie was not an orang-utan because Organutans are not native to India where the Jungle Book was set….I can hear him now shouting ‘Hey! I’m a monkey!”…so this week our link is, ahem,,,”Hey Hey we're the Monkees!”

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie did win wiv da songy "I want to be like you" wot be from da film Jungle Book. Dis week a new series of " I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" started wot be filmed in da Australian Jungle. One of da peeps in it be John Barrowman who be best known in dis house as Capt Jack Harkness in Torchwood. Da moosic in dat series be pretty naff so I give yoo his song "What About Us" instead.

@diamondbertie
Well done Maggie. I love Jungle Book and I want to be like you is so funny. I thought immeditely of Cab Calloway singing Minnie the Moocher, the video is equally brilliant.

@djladylexie
Oh ooo be doo I wanna be like youuuuu ooo ooo. Love dat song. So many great songs in Jungle Book. Another great one was Bare Necessities, sung by the great Satchmo, Louis Armstrong. I wanna be like you was sung by Louis Prima, Louise and Louis New Orleans were both well kn own for their New Orleans jazz style. New Orleans jazz has a swinging, stomping, syncopated beat that you just can't help but dance to. So, get those paws tappin and dance along to dis great number, probably the most well know of them all, from the greatest man out of New Orleans, Satchmo. Oh when those saints go marchin in!

An da winner as decided by Maggie ...... dus ............. be ........... Clapton! You choosin next time me pal.

Ere is wot Maggie said: Well done everyone! So many great links, you all know my faves! One link had a very logical argument leading to the song. I chose “Hey Hey we're the monkees”

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 29th November 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Four Hundred and Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 405 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Terence wiph Hallelujah. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@limeoscar
Well, Ella Fitzgerald … only one way to go from the Queen of Jazz and that’s to The King.  I give you Mr Elvis Presley, The King of Rock and Roll, who has such a plethora of music we could choose from but we picked this very early recording of Blue Moon, a song which Ella herself was known for.  This version by Elvis was recorded in 1954 at Sun Studios and released on his debut album in 1956.  Thanyooo, Thanyooo ver much "Elvis has left the building".

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv Ella Fitzgerald singing " Ev'ry time we say goodbye".  * Finks* there duss seem to be a lotta "goodbyes" going on but on da uvver paw wen he come back there be a lotta "hellos". So for my linky I gonna give yoo "Hello Goodbye" wot woz writted by Paul McCartney. But to be diffrent I gonna use da vershun by The Cure. Paul's son James is da happy chappy yoo can see playing the keyboard so it duss link to da original . Sorta.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you gone and won it wiv Ella and Every Time We Say Goodbye. We stick with the goodbye theme and give you the Tartan Legends that were the Bay City Rollers and Bye Bye Baby.

@maggietkat
Well done Lexie with “every time we say good bye”.  Lexie said that Ella Fitzgerald also recorded this song. Ella was famous for her “scat singing” vocalizing along with the band. Louis Prima was also a famous scat artist and probably best known in Disney's Jungle Book with “ I Wanna Be Like You”.

An da winner as decided by me dad dus be .......................................  Maggie! You choosin next time me pal.

Ere is wot Me dad said: I choose Jungle Book because ... Iceland ... Orangutans ... go Orangutans!

Lexie's Chain: The Four Hundred and Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 404 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Terence wiph Hallelujah. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel did win wiv Hathaway and Hallelujah. Now this be a song by Leonard Cohen. He also famously sang about Suzanne. A great singing Suzanne is Suzanne Vegas and here she is with great song Toms Diner.

@claptonterrier
last week terence selected a song by a  singing actor…..which leads us immediately to the very finest of singing actors and our linky this week…..Bohemian Rhapsody by the one and only William Shatner!

@limeoscar
So last week was Hallelujah, which according to YouTube this year is the 4th most covered song, but before the internet came along in the top five was Somewhere over the rainbow & What a wonderful world.  These were put together in what is known as a 'mashup' by a Hawaiian chap called Israel 'Iz' Kamakawiwo’ole, so this does be our linky this week.  It is also a double linky as Hallelujah was used in the film Shrek and Iz’s version of the mashup was used for the closing credits of the film Meet Joe Black.

@maggietkat
Wel. Done Sir T with Hallelujah by Hawthorne. I figured that since that is a famous song sung by a tv character I would look for nother. Here is Megan Draper from “Mad Men” vamping a French standard “Zou Bisou Bisou”.

@djladylexie
Well done Sir Terence wiv da Hallelujah. Originally written and sung by Leonard Cohen. My favourite line in the the song is "The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift". This represents F G and F. The major chord. Ella also sang about the change from major to minor in her song Every Time We Say Goodbye. That me linky.

An da winner as decided by Oscie dus be .......................................  oh poops is me again! Me dad choosin again pfftttt.

Ere is wot Tel said: After much study n considerayshun I chooses linky numba 5 wot be Ella Fitzgerald n "Every Time We Say Goodbye" .

Lexie's Chain: The Four Hundred and Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 403 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Oscie wiph Inspector Morse feem. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Oscar won wiv very clever Inspector Morse theme tune. That show started the late very great John Thaw. He was also in The Sweeny with Denis Waterman who was famous for singing the theme tune for  the shows he acted in so here he is singing the theme tune for Minder.

@maggietkat
Well done with Inspector Morse Theme. Oscar chosed it because it had Morse code. My tune also a memorable number. “Jenny 867-5309” by Tommy Tutone.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal  Oscar aka da Drone King did wiv da feem toon from "Inspector Morse" . When Morse woz bumped off in da TV series annuva series started called "Lewis" wiv his Sgt Lewis getting pawmoted to Inspector. His second in command be Sgt Hathaway who nearly became a priest before deciding to join da pawleece. He in turn gets pawmoted when Lewis retired ( tho da series still called Lewis just to confuzzle fings). Anyhows Hathaway woz played by Laurence Fox. Not only woz he an actor but he also writted songs n sing dem. For my linky I looks down da YooToob playlist for him  n finds one called "Hallelujah Hathaway" wot he sings n it be pawticularly appawriate cos of da religious connekshun in da character. Nuffin to do wiv da fact it be one of our favrit songies - honest guv !

@djladylexie
Well all I can say is dit dit dah or summat. I fink The Police wanted to sing about Morse code but they got confussled and sung de do do do de da da da instead! BOL.

An da winner as decided by Oscie dus be .......................................  Tel!

Ere is wot Oscie said:It’s gotta be Linky 3 as that linky was brilliantly written and we luffs Lewis as much as Morse!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 7th November 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Four Hundred and Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 402 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos me wivs da David Bowie an Star Man. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv da 1972 track "Starman" by David Bowie. Later dat decade he starred in a sumwot strange cult movie called " The Man that Fell to Earth" wot be abowt an alien wot err falls to our planet earth. Da most faymuss n luvved alien wot came to earth woz E.T. So for my linky I going wiv a songy called dat n it be by Katy Perry.

@maggietkat
Well done Dame Lexie with David Bowie's “Starman”. When Bowie was the commencement speaker at Berkeley he listed his musical influences. One of those was Julie London, a very talented actor and singer. This is “Blue Moon” which is not quite the stars but a lovely very of a classic.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you did win wiv David Bowie and Starman. What does a Starman need? Well a starship and then nothing will stop him!

@limeoscar
So last week the winner was Bowie’s Starman, so we could do the obvious linky, but that would be borin snorin! Instead me linky be about morse code, no bear with me pals. The Starman single originally featured a "loud mix" of the "morse code" section between the verse and the chorus. That puts us in mind of other music with morse code, an probably the most famous is the theme from Morse by Barrington Pheloung, in which the opening bars in morse code spelled the word Morse!

An da winner as decided by me dad dus be .......................................  Oscar! Me dad picked dis one because funny enough he be learning morse code on his course to become officer of the watch!

Ere is wot dad said: --. --- --- -.. / .--- --- -...   if you can say what that is you get a bonus point!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 24th October 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexies Chain: The Four Hundred and First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 401 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Oscar wiv Money from Da Floyd. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@claptonterrier
Hello Lady Lexie...last week our winner was the song Money! ...well, money money money must be funny as they say....so this week our mind has been turned to funny songs....and our linky this week from amongst the many funny songs you might hear is "It would never have worked out" by Victoria Wood.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Oscar did win wiv Money by Pink Floyd. This song is from the album Dark Side of the Moon. Alan Parsons was the audio engineer who worked on this album. He also worked on two Beatles albums including Let it Be and we pick this track from that album - The Long and Winding Road.

@maggietkat
Well done Oscar with Pink Floyd's Money. I decided to look for songs about money. My search didn’t take long. I decided to try Sir T’s method, choose the first song that pops into his head. My pick has a similar theme, “Money for Nothing” by the Dire Straits.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Oscar did win wiv "Money" by Pink Floyd. Dis song woz on da album " The Dark Side of the Moon". On da dark side it is well umm just dark wivout shadows. You only get a moon shadow when there be a total lunar eclipse *astonomer ears* . Yoo can also get total solar eclipse AND * dramatic pause leading up to linky*  a total eclipse of the heart . Da vershun I going wiv though be by Westlife n it be a YooToob moosic video.

@djladylexie
Money from the Floyd was from their album dark side of the moon. The moon is in outer space. Outer space is the physical universe beyond earth. Earth is the plant wot we lives on. The best movie ever about space and earth must be The Man Who Fell to Earth wiph David Bowie. Continuing me space feem I gives you Starman from Bowie.

An da winner as decided by Oscy dus be .......................................  oh noes is me! So me dad turn to pick next time.

Ere is wot Oscar said: Wot a pawsome list ov entries this week . . . many furbulus artists wot over OTRB now *bows head*.  We dus choose Linky 5 coz how can yous not pick the genius of Mr Bowie

Lexie's Chain: The Four Hundredth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 400 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Terence wiph Like A Rolling Stone by The Rolling Stones. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was Like a Rolling Stone….its not often you get songs being written about other bands (albeit indirectly)…so tis week our linky will be one of the few others….we give you Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder…a song about the great Duke Ellington.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel won wiv the doubler Like A Rolling Stone sung by would you believe it The Rolling Stones. This Bob Dylan song was also covered by Green Day and our favourite song of theirs is usually known as Time of Your Life but the full title be Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).

@limeoscar
So last week’s winning song was Like a Rolling Stone, but did you know this was demo’d without success in 3/4 time and only became a hit after it was changed to the rockier sound of 4/4 time known today?  So that does be our linky this week... timing.  Arguably one of the most famous pop songs with weird . . . timing is Pink Floyd’s Money, which is in 7/8 timing, apart from Gilmour’s guitar solo which is in 4/4.  It’s all about . . . timing!

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with Like a Rolling Stone. Thought about Coventry *shibers*. Here is my favorite super *shibers* song, “Thriller” by Michael Jackson.

@djladylexie
Me linky is the name Marianne. How comes you asks? Well, let me tell you. They say a rolling stone gathers no moss. Moss is a plant wot don't have roots and grows like a carpet spreading as it goes. A carpet is a floor covering that makes it nice to walk on. A small carpet is called a rug. Some artists have rugs on stage when they perform. One such artist was the late great Leonard Cohen. Leonard Cohen wrote a song called So Long Marianne which was about his girlfriend and muse Marianne Ihlen. Mick Jagger also had a relationship with a Marianne, Marianne Faithfull. So here's to Mariannes.

An da winner as decided by El Tel dus be ....................................... Oscar! Yay you wins me pal. Your turn to pick next time.

Ere is wot Tel said: Wowsa there be some supa linkies n songies dis week. Half of my marks always goes to da writted linky n half to da song. Linky numba 5 wos brill - it haz  to be awarded da title of a linky extraordinaire. Full marks for effort. ( noms on Mars bar trying to decide). However in da end I goes for linky numba 3 as my winner cos it be a clever linky n I luvs da song "Money" by "Pink Floyd"

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 17th October 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 399 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner wos Clapton. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sir Clapton won with The Boss and Paradise Under the C. As soon as we heard this we couldn’t stop singing another paradise song by the great Meatloaf .

@terenceterrier
Larst week our little woolly pal Sir C did win wiv Bruce Springstein and "Paradise by the Big C". I learns dat his surname is of Dutch origin n means summat like a stepping stone between houses. From dat I gonna step to a rolling stone.  To da  song " Like A Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan cos Bob woz a big influence on Bruce. But I can do a dubble linky here cos I finds a vershun of da song by da Rolling Stones. Since Halloween be approaching I gives yoo da live vershun from Coventry this year. ( hides behind sofa - dey look very scary n dey murdering a classic Dylan numba).

@limeoscar
So Clapton gave us The Boss with Paradise by the C.  When this was first played, they all thought it was Sea not C, but it’s really as simple as ABC, so that does be our linky this week the Jackson 5 with ABC.

@djladylexie
Me linky is hell. Wot you say!? Well, Springsteen went on tour wiv his band and went to Australia where he dun a cover version of Highway to Hell in honour of Bon Scott of ACDC. So me gonna choose annuva ACDC song - Hells Bells - released after the death of Bon Scott as their comeback album.

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with “Paradise by the C” featuring Clarence “Big Man” Brown. I do love those saxes so I looked and looked for other sax rock and roll players. I found Sonny “The Colossus” Rollins who sits in with the Stones' “Waiting on a Friend”. Get it? Big sax players?

An da winner as chosen by Clappers dust be .................................... Terence! Yay dat mean you dust win so you chooses next week me pal Tel.

Ere wot CT said:  Hello Miss Lexie and apologies for the delayed results. We have been jetting around Europe. Anyhoo, we have perused this week’s linkys and we have made our choice. Hello pals. Welcome to week 398 of Lexie's Megan wif da somefon somfon. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Megan did win wiv da songy " Under the Sea" from da Disney film abowt a mermaid. As yoo probs knows there be a famuss statue of a Mermaid in Denmark. I gonna do a nifty side step to annuva famuss statue wot be in Edinburgh n be of a Skye Terrier doggie known as Greyfriars Bobby. He had a Disney film made abowt him too. I gonna give yoo a song abowt him as my linky. " Greyfriars Bobby" by Kaitlyn and The Children of the Town.

@maggietkat
Well done Dame Megan with Under the sea. I figured that if mermaids can go under the sea, then humans can go Up. This is the Carole King and James Taylor version of a Drifters tune, “Up on the Roof”.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie...last week our winner was Under The Se from the Little Mermaid film...of course yours truly would quite like things to be Under the C ! ...so this week our entry is "Paradise by the C" by the inimitable Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band...featuring the Master of Disaster, the Big Man... Clarence Clemons!

@djladylexie
I'd like to be under the sea but I dussnt be able to breave so I fink I be there in a sumbarine. A yellow submarine! We can all live in it!

Hello pals. Welcome to week 397 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Terence wiv da Jaws Feem Toon. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Terence did win wiv
Do do do do dodododo
Scary Jaws theme
Sharks can make you scared of going in the sea but there are lovely things  like The Little Mermaid Under The Sea

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with the theme from Jaws. I am going with the BIG FISH which leads me to one of my favorite movies, Big. An incredible scene is when Tom Hanks and his boss play the keyboard on the floor in FAO Schwartz. My link is Heart and soul/Chopsticks.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week our winner was filed theme tune…so we got to think about other songs made famous from films…our favourite my be Saturday Night Fever by the Bee Gees from the film of the same name…and that of course is a ruse slice of D.I.S.C.O….and so this week our linky is D.I.S.C.O by Ottawan!!

@djladylexie
Jaws was a very scary feem toon from da movie Jaws. In dis filum a giant man-eating great white shark attacks people on Amity Island. Da feem toon wawn was done by John Williams who be probably the most famus movie composer of all time. Me stickin wiv da man-eaters and da john williams feem toons and goin wiv da feem form Jurassic Park.

Hello pals. Welcome to week 396 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Maggie wiph Schoop Schoop song from Cher. Let's see what we got dis week and who is da winner!

@claptonterrier
Hello Lady Lexie…last week ou winner was the SHoop SHoop song by Cher….we have no idea what the Scoop is, was or might be…so this week are are countering with our own load of old nonsense…and our linky is Manamana….by the Muppets….

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Oscar did win wiv Cher n The Shoop Shoop Song. Da video woz made to promote da film " Mermaids" . A mermaid is half fish but I dussnt do fings by halves so I gonna give yoo some moosic abowt a proper fish. A BIG fish. A VERY BIG FISH. My linky be John Williams : Theme From Jaws ( Boston Pops ) . BTW it still not safe to go back in da water.

@djladylexie
Well done Oscar wiv da shopp shopp song. Cher's version was the soundtrack of her 1990 filum Mermaids which isn't about mermaids. A move which is about a mermaid that isn't called Mermais Splash which as got Daryl Hannah as da mermaid. I jus found out that Daryl Hannah has aledgedely married Neil Young! So dat is gonna be me linky - Neil Young - and one of his songs wot I likes dus be Horse With No Name.

An da winner as chosen by Maggie dust be ....................................El Tel . Yay dat mean you Terence win so you chooses next week.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was by Shirley Bassey…we know that Miss Shirley is a very proud Welsh person and so we googled the best songs about Wales….quite extraordinarily the No. 1 song in the WalesOnline list of Top 50 Welsh songs is this one by Badfinger…the Swansea power poppers according to WalesOnline….a song covered by many a more famous face down the years.

@maggietkat
Well done Oscar with Mr.Kiss Kiss Boom Boom by Shirley Bassey. I have a several part link today, The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss) sung by Cher. There are Mr.'s In each title, repeated words, two words have double o's. The star, 007 or Bond, and Cher are known by one name.

@diamondbertie
Well done @LimeOscar with Mr KissKiss Bang Bang I listened to this song it got me thinking of a particular type of man and my mind kept turning to You’re so Vain by the lovely Carly Simon.

@djladylexie
Well done Oscy wiv Kiss Kiss Bang Bang by Shirley Bassey. Shirley Bassey is a worldwide singing superstar and has performed at some of the most hugest hugest venues in the world. One of our most favourit performances by er dus be on Da Morecambe and Wise Show where dey did put a welly boot on her foot instead of a high heel shoe. It still make us laff. Lots of famus people was on dere show coz of it bein so funny and taking the mickey out of stars. One such star was a very young Cilla Black wot appeared on da show in 1971. Ere she be singing her song about love ... Anyone Who Had a Heart.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 395 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was me wiph Me Ol Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Let's see what we go dis week.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv "Me 'Ol Bamboo" wot be a song from da film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. CCBB be an Old Banger. So for my linky I looks for annuva song abowt an Old Banger in a film. Dis one be a T Bird n it be restored to its former glory in da film. For my linky I gives you " Greased Lighting" from da film Grease.

@maggietkat
Well done Dame Lexie with Me O’Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I think about bamboo I think about warm climates. There was an old calypso song by the Four Seasons about a gal in a bamboo hut. Here is “Marianne”.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you did win wiv Dick Van Dyke and Me Old Bamboo. There was also a Van Dyck wiv slightly different spelling wot did be an artist. There was a song by Don Maclean about another artist wiv Van in his name Vincent.

@limeoscar
Well done Lexie with her song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, in which the lyrics only count up to 7, did ya notice that?  Not quite 007, but then our linky isn’t quite a Bond theme either.  We’ve chosen Shirley Bassey's Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a sultry serenade of a suave, smooth & sophisticated cool dude . . . much like Lexie’s dad we’re thinking!  Alas, it was a step too far as United Artists requested a theme containing the film title, so they had Mr Jones sing Thunderball instead.  Incidentally, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical was based on a novel written by Ian Flemming and as song with Bang Bang in the title, we love this triple linky, along with this version that has iconic 60’s Thunderboll imagery to put you in the mood . . .

An da winner as chosen by the dad dust be .................................... no 4. Yay dat mean you win Oscar so you chooses next week.

Ere wot me dad said: I love a bit of Shirley and an excellent link. All were great entries.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 4th September 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

@djladylexie
Mary Poppins was a great movie! Dis movie also starred Dick Van Dyke. Dick Van Dyke also appeared in annuva super moosical about a flyin car wot was called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I'm gonna go wiph a song from that movie wot I loves ... Me Ol' Bamboo.

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 393 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was me wiph Lovin Spoonful from da Nashville Cats. Sorry for the delay we bin moving housey to be nearer Atlantis! Let's see what we go dis week.

@maggietkat
Well done Miss Lexi with the Loving Spoonful and “Nashville Cats”. I have a double link this week. Cats have been know to eat birds. The world has lost an incredible voice this week. Aretha Franklin. This is Aretha being very good to birdies (bad cats) with “Mockingbird”.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv "Nashville Cats" by The Lovin Spoonful. Dey also had a hit wiv "Daydream" . Dey woz a band from da 60's. Annuva band formed in dat era woz Fleetwood Mac.  A track called "  Dreams" woz on their Rumours album . My pal Tucker taught me well so I select da live vershun from 1977 as my linky.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you did win wiv Loving Spoonful and Nashville Cats. Well a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down and we give you this with Julie Andrews as the practically perfect in every way Mary Poppins.

@claptonterrier
ello Lady Lexie….last week our winner was a song by the Lovin Spoonful…..that band put out its big hits on the Kama Sutra record label….so this week we have been thinking about songs about love….this is a bit of a popular subject when it comes to pop music and the search has been driving us crazy…so we have eventually settled for our linky on Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen!….

@sonikebt
The winning song from @djladylexie was “Nashville Cats” by the Lovin’ Spoonful which is a celebration of Nashville musicianship. For our link this week we have chosen a band who, though their music, celebrated Gaelic/Scottish traditional music, history, culture and politics. The band danced their “Last Dance” at Stirling Castle this weekend when they played their final concerts. Our link this week is “Alba” by Runrig.

An da winner as chosen by me dad dus be .................................... Megan!  Yay! You be choosin next week me pal.

Ere wot dad said bowty it: Spoons .... It's obvious right? I'm going with the Mary Poppins number coz it does exactly what is says on the tin!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 27th August 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 392 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Maggie wiph Reba MacIntyre and Lights Went Out in Gogiga wiph Honey. Sorry for the delay we bin moving housey to be nearer Atlantis! Let's see what we go dis week.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was a song sung by Reba Macintyre….this lady is one of the queens of country music and like, Dolly, one of those musicians who has become known so well that she is often  referred to by only her first name…so our linky this week is by one of the very first musicians (apologies, to John, Paul, George and Ringo) to be known by one name only…and our linky is Message in a Bottle performed by ( a solo) Sting…

@terenceterrier
Larst week Miss Maggie winned wiv " The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia". It musta been pretty dark. During da day it gets dark in lotsa places if there is an eclipse. So for my hastily cobbled togeva linky I gives yoo "Eclipse" by Pink Floyd. Dis track be on their album "The Dark Side Of The Moon" . Dat always be dark - obvs.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie did win wiv Reba Macintyre and When The Lights Went Out in Georgia. In 1977 the lights all went out in New York when there was a blackout so we does pick this classic song about New York.

@djladylexie
Maggie won last week wiv Reba MacEntire an When the Lights Went Out In Georgia. Reba MacEntire is signed with MCA Nashville. Nashville is known as Music City and for it's country music. In honour of Maggie and da Nashville feem we chooses Nashville Cats  by The Lovin' Spoonful.

An da winner as chosen by Maggie dus be .................................... me! Oh dear oh dear, dad be choosin next week.

Ere wot Maggie said bowty it: Entries this week are the most difficult ever, each more clever than the next. I decided to go with the Nashville link mainly because the band was woven into the story. Okay, it didn’t hurt that both the band and song are on our top 100 list. Thank cod I was able to stop Mom from cat-erwauling. My choice is “Nashville Cats” by the Loving Spoonful.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 20th August 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninety First Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 391 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was Tel wiph Honey. Let's see what we go dis week.

@sonikebt
Last weeks winning link was “Honey” by Bobby Goldsboro. Honey is sweet but it can be bitter sweet coz of the calories. So our link is - “Bitter Sweet Symphony” by The Verve.

@diamondbertie
The last winner chose Honey by Bobby Goldsboro, wow ?? I know this song it’s lovely
My link has to be the Beatles song a Taste of Honey another lovely song with honey as the link.

@djladylexie
Honey by Bobby Goldsboro was an excellent song. This isn't what a Cincinnati Enquirer report said that it was frequently  considered the worst song of all time! Apparently Tony Blackburn played it constantly on his radio show when he was dumped by his wife Tessa Wyatt. This was parodied in the mockumentary Smashie and Nicey The End of an Era. They played a song over and over again on their show. That song was Bachman Turner Overdrive and You Ain't Seen Noffink Yet. Dat me linky!

@limeoscar
OMD what is Sir Tel doing to us . . . still mopping up tears in this house pals, one box was not enough!  The words of of the song did get us thinking though about a song written for the tv series Highlander for the scenes in which Connor McLeod must endure his wife Heather McLeod growing old and dying.  It has the bonus of being by the legends that are Queen, so we give you as our linky this week . . . Who wants to live forever.  It was apparently written by Brian May in the backseat of his car after seeing then 20 minute first cut of Heather’s death scene.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel won wiv Honey .. it be a  sad song but when we fink of honey we think of our favourite bear Pooh Bear and here is the Honey Song.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was a song by Bobby Goldsboro....which sounds like a stage name chosen from a list of English town names....which put is in mind of Middlesborough....and so this week our linky is an ode to the young girls of Middlesborough by the town's greatest musicL export, Chris Rea,..and the song is Stainsby Girls.

@maggietkat
Well done Sir T with “Honey” sung by Bobby Goldsboro. Mum's sister had a huge crush on Bobby. The writer of the song was Bobby Russell. Russell had another hit, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia”,  a song in the Southern Gothic genre. This is Reba McIntyre's version, just wait for the twist in the last stanza.

An da winner dust be: Maggie! Yay me pal you chosin next time.

Ere wot Tel said abowt it: It woz very hard to pick dis week. So many dat I liked for different reasons . But there can only be one winner so afta reminding myself of da chainy game rules I choose linky numba 7 wot be "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" by Reba McIntire.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me by 6th August 2018 (get it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

@djladylexie
Move Like Jagger dus be mostly about how Mick Jagger dances wot is very famuss way of dancing. Me stickin wiv the dancin feem m. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eighty Eighth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 388 of Lexie's Chain. Last week da winner was me wiv Jumpin Jack Flash from the Rollin Stones. Let's see what we got this week:

@claptonterrier
*squeal of tyres and brakes*….hello Lady Lexie….a late entry from me this week…last week our winner was Jumping Jack Flash….that is shorthand for a flashy wild young man…so we thought about the bad boys of rock music…and so we do not have to name names we have selected as our linky this week “Wild Boys” by Duran Duran.

@maggietkat
Well done Lexie with the Stones’ “Jumpin' Jack Flash”. Jagger's lips and stage performances influenced the danceable Maroon 5 number, “Moves Like Jagger”.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week you did win wiv Rolling Stones and Jumping Jack Flash. Well I fink the heat do have got to us but we fort straight away of flashing and this led us to this song ... yeah they call it the streak !

@limeoscar
Well done Dame Lexie with Jumpin’ Jack Flash, which was pawrently inspired by the gardener, who was called ... wait for it ... Jack! So that got us thinking about the garden in all this luffly sunshine which reminded us of the Beatles hit, as we did think we might like the Octopus’ Garden in the shade right now. This Muppets version always makes us smile!

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Lexie did win wiv " Jumping Jack Flash" by da Rolling Stones. There woz also a movie of the same name released in 1986. I perused da soundtrack n selects for my linky "Hold On" by Billy Branigan.
