Lexie's Chain: The Eighty-Fifth Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 85 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Patch to choose. Last time was Snow Patrol wiv Run. Let's see wot happened this week!

@diamondbertie
Here is my entry for the next link. Last weeks winner was Runaway by Bon Jovi, great choice, I could not resist another completely different song of the same name by Del Shannon. This dates back to the mid 1960s.

@djladylexie
Last week was Bon Jovi's Runaway wot name come from vinjoob – eskimo word for polar bear. Now then, the eskimos have 50 words for snow. Handily this the title of Kate Bush's latest album 50 Words for Snow. She also write a song about runnin to wot dus be ma link for dis week – Running up that Hill by Kate Bush.

@kelsoterrier
Ok, last weeks winner was Bon Jovi with Runaway. The link came about as a result of a vey clever anagram. So I decided to try my hand at an anagram link but can't promise the clever part ;-) Ok, here goes, Bon Jovi Runaway is an anagram of Bonjour Vain Way. To me this sounds like something a very vain person would say to themselves in the mirror in the morning when getting ready for their day of vanity. When I think of really vain people I think of two songs, Mr Vain by Culture Beat and You're so Vain by Carly Simon. I prefer You're So Vain by Carly Simon tho so I choose it as my linky this week.

@bvfeyj
So Briar @wonderwinger did select @PatchDaCat wif “Runaway” by Bon Jovi & me finks if you is a runaway maybe is cuz you is “Born to Run”! So me does submit “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen. Besides dat boaf Bon Jovi & Bruce Springsteen is from New Jersey (dat’s New Joisey y’know), and dey boaf hab performed wif Southside Johnny. Boaf has hab long careers and continue to perform today. More importantly Bruce is da Boss and “Born to Run” is a kick arse song!

@borderpup
Last week we had Runaway by Bon Jovi, so we did get our finking caps on .... Jon Bon Jovi, da man imself, does do lots of werk for charities. One of them is called Habitat for Humanity, and they dus get people togeva to 'build homes, communities and hope.' They build homes for needy people all over da world and also do disaster relief, helping people to get shelter. I fink you might be able to see where this is going now ....! Yes, we choose Gimme Shelter by them Strolling Bones!

@bunnersandharvs
So well dun to da super feline patch fur his win AGAIN!! Now, I has been scritchin my beard over da linky and though i dusn't rilly like da group BonJovi, he did help Cher relaunch her sing song career (well Jon B-J and Richie Sambora). Plus Bon Jovi and Cher both has lots of hair too so I is going wid Cher fur my linky, well Sonny and Cher wot singing 'I Got You Babe' .... hit it. 'They say our love won't last Laa Laa Lee dee dee BOL.

@terenceterrier
Last week the winning linky woz “Runaway”. I fink the girl who ran away woz a rebel. So my linky dis week be “Rebel Rebel” by David Bowie.

@rosieterrier
Well done to Patchy Cat on last weeks win. My linky dus beWell done to Patchy Cat on last weeks win. My linky dus be 'Dock of the Bay' by Otis Redding. This is because it dus invole sitting on the aforementioned dock and not running like Mr Bon Jovi. Phew! I prefer relaxing....... Now where's my nearest dock? Thank you xxxxx

@wonderwinger
Well done Patch, on your Eskimo-inspired link last week giving us Runaway by Bon Jovi. My link this week is Whisky in the Jar by Thin Lizzy. Why? Well, are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin... Bon Jovi covered the Thin Lizzy song Boys are Back in Town. However, when I thought about the title Runaway i thought where might you be running? Maybe you're fleeing "Out in the Fields". This was a single by the Thin Lizzy members Gary Moore & Phil Lynott from Moore's solo album "Run" for Cover. I love Whiskey in the Jar a traditional Irish song about a highwayman, aha, yet another reason for Running away.

@marleyterrier
Ello for you….i see that Patch da Cat did be chosen a song by Bon Jovi….and they is famously from New Jersey…so we did look at other moosishuns who be from New Jersey and did see that Paul Simon be from there too. We dint ono this cos we fort he was from New York City. He did a nice song called The Only Living Boy in New York….so we is bringing it all back home by choosin that song but played by a British band so my choice dis week is Only Living Boy in New York by Everything But the Girl.

An the winner dis week .... as chosen by @patchdacat  ..... dus be  ........ @borderpup wiv . Yay!! Well done ma pal!

Now is time to get your finkin caps on an send me (find out how on da guidelines page fing) the next link in the chain. Da winner dis week dus be pickin da winner next week and dat means you Indie.

Lexie's Chain: The Eighty-Fourth Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 84 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Briar to choose. Last time was Snow Patrol wiv Run. Let's see wot happened this week!

@djladylexie
Run By Snow Patrol .. Ma linky dos be Foreigner wiv Cold as Ice. Why? Well .. Snow is really cold, and sometimes when it melts and then re-freexes it turns into ice! So snow has to be cold as ice to be erm … ice! Heehee.

@borderpup
Last week was Run by Snow Patrol, which was a big hit when covered by Leona Lewis, tho we fort the original was much, much better! It dus be too hot here for much brain activitee, so we did fink about other cover songs .... We did fancy somefing a bit dancier, so we has chosen Comfortably Numb by The Scissor Sisters. Wiv apologies to all Pink Floyd fans out there, we fink in this case the cover version is better than the original! Here it is in their brilliant set at Glasto.

@patchdacat
To link from “Run” by Snow Patrol I am choosing “Runaway” by Bon Jovi as my linky. If you run you will be a runaway so an obvious link there but a less well known link follows. Snow Patrol were originally known as Polar Bear. The eskimo word for polar bear is vinjoob which is an anagram of Bon Jovi.

@terenceterrier
*rams finking cap on head* A linky to follow from “Run” needed. I finks of the fillum “Runaway Bride” wiv Richard Gere & Julia Roberts which had dis songy “Before I fall in love” as its theme toon sung by Coco Lee.

@bvfeyj (Tucker)
Last week @patchdacat did wisely pick @wonderwinger wif da clever entry Run by Snow Patrol. Good job, Patch & Briar! (And me is SURE dat da sardine cup cakes had nuffing to do wif dat!) OK, moving on... while trying to fink ob a link and wif all da heat we been habbing me did start finking about snow... dis lead me to a wonderful song brilliantly written and performed by Stevie Nicks ob Fleetwood Mac. So me does suggest “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac as dis week’s linky. Me does prefer dis live version (me likes da mistake and how dey react!)

@diamondbertie
I choose Walking Back to Happiness sung by Helen Shapiro. Why? Last weeks winner was Run by Snow Patrol I settle for a more leisurely pace in this hot weather.

@marleyterrier
I did see that Snow Patrol be fronted by Gary Lightbody so I did decide to looks him up on Twitter. Furst tweet I seen from him was pishure of him wiv the actor Stephen Graham who played Al Capone in the wonderful series Atlantic City. So our chain this week did be Original Gangster by Wheatus…..(cos there dussnt be no decent songs on the soundtrack of The Untouchables…..Mr Costner…ahem)….

An the winner dis week .... as chosen by @wonderwinger ..... dus be  ........ @patchdacat wiv . Yay!! Well done again ma pal! Dis game is turnin into a two horse race or ... a one dog, one cat race heehee!

Now is time to get your finkin caps on an send me (find out how on da guidelines page fing) the next link in the chain. Da winner dis week dus be pickin da winner next week and dat means you Briar.

It's over to you! Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until noon (GMT) Sunday 26 August 2012. Sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title!

Lexie's Chain: The Eighty-Third Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 83 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Patch to choose. Last time was Berlin and Take Ma Breff Away. Let's see wot happened this week!

@borderpup (Indie)
We did fink about 'Take my Breath Away' by Berlin and thought of course of Top Gun - then nuffing else! Then mum said ang on a minute ... U2 did record their famous album 'Achtung Baby' in da Hansa Studios in Berlin!  Any excuse to play U2, I says.  The song we have chosen from that album is 'Mysterious Ways', and the video was fillumd in Morocco so Lexie's mum might like da middle eastern feem!

@bvfeyj (Tucker)
Last week Patch did gib us da beautiful Take My Breath Away by Berlin from da Top Gun movie soundtrack. Very nice linky & well deserved winner! Also from dat movie we hab eaven in Your Eyes by Loverboy. Da same year (1986) Peter Gabriel released his song In Your Eyes which was later also in a soundtrack (for the film Say Anything). And dat is me link dis week.  In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. (dis is bery good extended live version from Japan aid 1986).

@rosieterrier
I figure Berlin do be a city in Germany dat I seen on tinternet. I knows that they be a train station called Zoologischer Garten-in English - Zoo Station. Well the sooper group U2 did a songy called Zoo Station. My linky dus be the song Miss Sarajevo by U2 cos it is beautiful and always moves me when I do be hearing it.

@marleyterrier
After Patch's choice, we did notiss that the original version of Take My Breff Away was made by a band called The Motels at request of Giorgio Moroder¦..so we did get to be finking about motels and otels and wot a big part they has played in poplar musics. And of corse the most famuss otel song of all time (we fink) is  Hotel California by da Eagles so we be choosin dat (wiv pologies to Mr Presley down at the end of Lonely STreet).

@diamondbertie
Here is my entry for the chain; last weeks' winner was Take my Breath away by Berlin, it was the theme to Top Gun, My choice is The Dam Busters March, by Eric Coates. Why because it keeps the theme of war and conflict.

@terenceterrier
Last week linky was Take my breath away which was on the soundtrack from the film Top Gun. Annuvva songy which wez like a lot from that film is You've lost that loving feeling by The Righteous Brothers which we choose as our linky.

@kelsoterrier
Last week Berlin with Take My Breath Away was the winner. Berlin were from LA and had no real connection with the German city of Berlin but were musically inspired by Kraftwerk who were a German band. They were also inspired by Ultravox who were from London. Similarly, Ultravox had no real connection to the city of Vienna but this was one of their biggest hits. If you were in a nightclub dancing and you saw someone that was so beautiful that they "took your breath away" then you would likely soon be out of breath and end up dancing with tears in your eyes ;-) So my link this week is Ultravox with Dancing With Tears in my eyes.

@bunnersandharvs (Harvs)
So den da clever Patch wot dus be a Patch Da Cat did win (AGIN) last week so well done pal. So and so da songy last week was 'Take My Breath Away by Berlin' wot wus in da moovie Top Gun. So dis got me thinkin bout dat moovie and well Kenny Loggins did singy a song in dat moovie called Danger Zone but he also did singy wing in da 'I'm Alright in Caddyshack So i is going to go wid i'm alright cus no body dus need ta worry bout mee! *danses*.

@wonderwinger
Well done Patch on winning the chainy last week with Take My Breath Away. My link is Olympics-inspired in that it is Run by Snow Patrol. Why this song? Well, when you run really really fast so often afterwards you are short of breath & Berlin was the host city of the Olympics in 1936. Apart from that, this song has some beautiful lyrics and honours so many of our friends that have passed OTRB this week.

@djladylexie
So last week was Take My Breff Away by Berlin. Berlin also dun a song called no more words wot was their first single from da album Love Life. That album was produced by Giorigo Moroder, Italian record producer. Famous for his sythesizer productions, many of which were his own.Our favourite of the time was from da fabulus movie Midnight Express so we choses Chase from Midnight Express by Giorgio Moroder.

An the winner dis week .... as chosen by @patchdacat..... dus be  ........ @wonderwinger wiv Run by Snow Patrol. Yay!! Well done ma pal!

Now is time to get your finkin caps on an send me (find out how on da guidelines page fing) the next link in the chain. Da winner dis week dus be pickin da winner next week and dat means you Briar.

It's over to you! Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until noon (GMT) Sunday 19 August 2012. Sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title!  Chainy bin late the last few weeks coz we as bin on board the lady Atlantis doin fings wot means we get ome late

@bunnersandarvs
First of all, well dun to da Bertie for his linky On a Clear Day wot dus be sungy by Barbara Streisand so it did make dis paw do some thinking bout her and some of her moovies and one of dem was Da Owl and Da Pussycat which made me think of da songy by Sir Tom Jones What's New Pussycat ! Hee hee I love you, yes I doooooo! BOL!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBdSqk78nHw

@bvfeyj
We did hab da Who dat could see for miles & miles, den Barbra Streisand dat on a clear day could see foreber, and den dere is poor Jackson Browne who can't eben see da sky, so dat my pick "Doctor My Eyes" by Jackson Browne.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0GhjlmlEwQ&feature=related

@djladylexie
Babs said on a clear day you can see forever. Well on a clear night you can see a lot as well. Like the moon and stars.  So I dus choose song a bout somfink appenin at night wot be Moonlight Shadow by Mike Oldfield.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e80qhyovOnA

@marleyterrier
I see dat Bertie did choose a song from da fillum On a Clear Day…..in dat fillum da lady played by Barbra Streisand imagines she be a lady who did live many years before and ave been reincarnated. One of our favirt songs duss be Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder in wot he sing "I'm so darn glad he let me try it again. 'Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin,  I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then Gonna keep on tryin' 'Til I reach the highest ground" …..so dat be our link…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6MpGJzte_g

@rosieterrier
Ooooo what's that Barbra? I can feel rain--it dus be spoiling my view. I can't stand the Rain Sez my friend Eruption! And that's my chainy for dis week! Thank you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7RSTuwKxe8

@terenceterrier
Last week’s winning linky woz  “On a Clear Day You can See Forever” by Barbra Streisand . She also recorded “Evergreen”.  I choose the recording of this by Westlife as my linky  cos it gives all the girls some good looking Irish lads to look at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbMl_bazas8

@patchdacat
As you all knoes we haz a regular competitor who foolishly holds hiz breff waiting for the #lexieschain result. So my linky be “Take my breathe Away” by Berlin. This woz the soundtrack to the movie “Top Gun” in which they flew fighter planes which go very high so when you are in them “On a clear day you can see for ever” which woz last week’s winning linky to follow.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6moL-RWlTI

An the winner dis week .... as chosen by @diamondbertie..... dus be  ........ @patchdacat wiv Take Ma Breff Away by Berlin. Yay!! Well done ma pal!
