Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Seventy Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 277 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me Megan wiph Bruvverood of Man and Kisses For Me. Let's see what we got this week:

@maggietkat
Well done with Brotherhood of Man! After showering off all that sugar, I thought about a camp number from the musical "How to succeed in business without really trying". I choose a video from the Tony awards where Robert Morse introduces the fictional, J. PIerrepont Finch in the current revival. Morse played PIerrepont in the original musical and in the film version. so, here is "Brotherhood of Man".

@skye613
So... The Brotherhood of Man.  If one has a man there must be some women running around! Enjoyed the tune and it made me think happy . "Closer to Fine" always makes me smile as the words push me to think and rejoice in moving forward!

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week’s winner was a song by the Brotherhood of Man…i don’t think they would have got away with calling themselves that in this day and age…little bit non-PC….so this week we have selected song to redress the balance…and our link is “Sister and Brother” by Midge Ure featuring Kate Bush…

@terenceterrier
Larst week Megan winned wiv Brotherhood of Man singing the UK 1976 winning Eurovizshun entry “Save Your Kisses For Me”. We dussnt wotch it no more cos not da same wivout big Tel doing da comments n we dussnt like da habit of all da Eastern Europeans voting for each other n not us. It woz da war in Yugoslavia wot created many of dem countries. We dopted 2 kittehs from an EE country n their album of rescue fotos woz called Brothers In Arms cos dey woz so devoted to each other. Brotherhood of Man / Brothers in Arms mutch da same fing n very handily lets me sweve da naff Eurovizshun songs n weirdpeeps to give you my linky. Dis be (obviusly) “Brothers in Arms” wot be a songy abowt war n fings . Dis a live vershun (obviusly) by Dire Straits wiv Eric Clapton helpin owt.

@diamondbertie
Last week @cloonfourmegan won with the Eurovision Song Contest winner Brotherhood of Man singing Save All Your Kisses For Me, I decided to depart from the contest choices a go with the link of KISSES, my choice is Kiss You by One Direction, I know they've split up and gone in different directions (sorry I couldn't resist).

@sonikebt
Well done @CloonfourMegan for winning the chain with "Save you kisses for me" by Brotherhood of Man. The last couple of weeks have been about brothers and men, so let's redress the balance with "Woman" by Neneh Cherry.

@djladylexie
My linky dus be seals. What? How? Well, let me tell you. Bruvverood of man dun Kisses for Me. A kiss is somfink wot you can give to someone you love or it might be a way to seal a deal. Sometimes a kiss was a way to seal someones fate. A seal is a web-footed marine mammal wot lives in the sea. Seal is also the name of a man wot sings songs. The song Kiss from a Rose mentioned the sea in the first line - There used to be a greying tower alone on the sea - so there you go. Seals. heehee

An da winner as chosened by @cloonfourmegan dus be ................................. @terenceterrier wiv Bruvvers in Arms from Dire Straits. Yay! Well done me pal. You be choosin next week.

Ere wot Megan said: Oooh what very good linkys came through this week and I did have terrible trouble choosing. There were some songs we didn't know and now we are really glad we do have heard them. Anyhoo ... after much deliberation I does choose Linky 4 cos the story of the rescued kitties did bring tears to our eyes and also Mum do love Dire Straits!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 22nd June 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Seventy Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 276 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiph Everybody Needs Somebody from The Blues Brothers. Let's see what we got this week.

@sonikebt
@djladylexie won the link last week with "Everybody needs somebody" by the Blues Brothers. Now everybody does need somebody but secretly everybody wants to rule the world, which was a song by Tears for Fears. Joe Strummer believed that TFF stole that line from his song "Charlie Don't Surf" and asked Roland Orzabal for a fiver in royalties which he duly paid. So for our link the week we are staying with The Clash and gives you "London Calling" coz who doesn't love a bit of rebellion against the establishment.

@terenceterrier
larst week Lexie winned wiv “Everybody Needs Somebody” by The Blues Brothers from da film Clip.  Da band woz originally started by Dan Belushi and Dan Aykroyd but lotsa uvva peeps have played wiv dem including Steve Cropper who woz lead and rhythm guitarist wiv Booker T & the MG’s. So for my linky I looks no further than their sixties hit single “Green Onions” wot mum remembas well. If yoo desperate for more to link dem den I sez blue n green both be colours *desperate ears*. I corse gives yoo a live vershun to enjoy n wot aktchewally be much betta than the original 45 recording.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Lexie won with the Blues Brothers. As it is Eurovision weekend there is much singing about friendship and brotherhood. So we choose a song from the days of Eurovision when we used to win before Australia was in Europe. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Brotherhood of Man!

@diamondbertie
I really love your choice, The Blues Brothers' Everybody Needs Somebody. I love this film and lost count how many times I watched it.The critics really panned it, but the public loved it, my choice this week is from the same film which is Cab Calloway with Minnie the Moocher.

@skye613
Congrats DJ Lexie! And we all know that Everybody needs somebody but what if they are still looking? Trying to find that Someone, who maybe doesn't see you anymore.  Well "What's a boy in love supposed to do? " Oh L'Amour ".

@maggietkat
Well done Lexie with "Every Needs Somebody". I decided to keep this chain simple. The iconic song in The Blue Brothers  movie is Sweet Home Chicago. The song has been covered extensively and is featured in almost every club on Clark and Halsted Streets. This version is at the White House with an incredible blues all stars band. If that isn't enough, keep watching for a guest vocalist.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was you with The Blues Brothers and Everybody Needs Somebody to Love. John Belushi was one of the Blues Brothers and he was in some of the National Lampoons films. Someone else who was in a lot of the National Lampoons films was Chevy Chase and he was famously in the video for Paul Simon's You Can Call Me Al. So that is my choice this week.

An da winner as chosened by me dad dus be ................................. Megan wiph Bruvverood of Man.

Ere wot dad said: I absolutely detest Eurovision so Eurovision it is! Brexit Brexit Brexit! [yeah thanks for that Dad very err ..... informative response .... pffttttt]

Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Seventy Fifth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 275 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Wyn wiv DJ Yoda and Sega RIP. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Wyn! I remember helping Mum while she made that Mario jump. She didn't  think I was much help. Anyway, I thought I would go with the game link. So, here is James Morrison with "Love is a Losing Game".

@skye613
Late, Late I'm very late . Well done Wotter! Have never heard of this DJ . And the searching began! Thru twists and turns and cartoons I found ma tail in one hit wonders. How does this linky ? Why it is a reference to another genre of music, of course!

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…this is our very late entry…last week Miss Wyn won with a song called Sega RIP….RIP stands for Rest in peace…and is said of those who have passed away….one person who decided not to RIP was Lazarus…and so this week our link is Lazarus by David Bowie…

@terenceterrier
larst week da winnin linky woz DJ Yoda / Scroobius Pip with Sega RIP. *bangs head agin wall* impawsibul to fathom a linky. I noes Yoda woz a Jedi Master in “Star Wars” but I didna noe he moonlighted as a DJ. Anyhows I be told John Williiams did da star Wars moosik so i gives yoo “Across The Stars” wot be performedby da LA Sinfonic Orchestra n other pals . umm just listen to da furst bit

@cloonfourmegan
Last week the force was strong with Wynter and she won wiv DJ Yoda! DJ Yoda's real name is Duncan and that made us fink of PJ and Duncan although of course they were really Ant and Dec. So here they are wiv a medley of their greatest hit!

@sonikebt
@wotterface won last week with DJ Yoda and "Sega RIP" featuring me!. We iz sticking with Yoda this week and gives you the theme from Star Wars by John Williams sung by a cat.

@djladylexie
Me linky this week dus be Everybody Needs Somebody from the Blues Brothers. What? How? Well let me tell ya. Yoda is also the name of the Jedi Master from Stars Wars. The voice of Yoda was provided by Frank Oz, The Muppet Show blokey. Frank Oz appeared in The Blues Brothers movie. A song from that movie was Minnie the Moocher featuring Cab Calloway. DJ Yoda did a version of Minnie the Moocher on his album DJ Yoda's How to Cut and Paste: The Thirties Edition. So our linky dus be Blues Brothers so I chooses the song Everybody Needs Somebody.

An da winner as chosened by Wyn dus be ................................. oh piffle! Is me .................... Me dad will be choosin next week.

Ere wot Wyn said: Absolutely loving the Star Wars references this week but we've chosen to go with link number 7. Why? Because Mom is a massive muppets geek (as well as Star Wars) so the link with the wonderful Frank Oz in it was the obvious choice. Plus the song is great, a real earworm.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 15th May 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Seventy Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 274of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Sonic wiv Daft Punk and Derezzed. Let's see wot we gots dis week:

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Sonic with Daft Punk's Derezzed. In the video the Daft Punk men play on an arcade game and it immediately bought this track to mind, talking about mid 90's computer gaming. It's DJ Yoda featuring Scroobius Pip with Sega RIP.

@maggietkat
Well done Sonic with Derezzed from Tron:Legacy.  Olivia Wild was one of the stars in the movie and she was Remy "Thirteen" Hadley on "House". soundtracks on House were amazing, so I decided to pick one of the tunes, Taj Mahal playing "Honky Tonk Women".

@skye613
Sonic won with Daft Punk last week and they always make me think of Kraftwerk. Why I hear you ask? No idea they just do! Daft Punk was formed by 2 frenchmen who met in school. Kraftwerk was formed by 2 Germans who met in school! And I love this live (????) version. BOL

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Mr Sonic won with a song called Derezzed….we have absolutely no idea what that word means….so this week our link is to another nonsense word song..Bang a Boomerang by Abba.

@terenceterrier
Larst week our little pals Sonic n Spike winned wiv “Derezzed” by Daft Punk. I fink most punks were daft wiv their safety pins n fings n daft hairdos. Da only punk I remembas be Johnny Rotten although now cos he be getting on a bit he reverts to real name John Lydon. He took part in series 3 of “I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here” wot woz winned by Kerry McFadden who woz a singer in Atomic Kitten. Since derezzed means summat being destroyed I fort I pick an AK track wot be abowt summat being there forever n I gives yoo “Eternal Flame” as my linky.

@diamondbertie
Last week @sonikbt won with Daft Punks Derezzed, an very atmospheric choice, I listened to it many times as I did not know it, it has a SiFi feel about it, each time my mind swings to Zager and Evans'  In The Year 2525 The predictions are depressing and humanity seems to be rushing headlong towards it.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sonik won wiv Daft Punk. This is the daftest Punk song we noes and we luffs it!

@djladylexie
Daft Punk's last album was Random Access Memories. I am going to randomly access my memory (do you see what I did there) and access something daft (again, with the seeing what I did there). Well, one very famous but not always well know guest appearance on their album is Paul Williams who sings Touch. So my linky does be Rainbow Connection written by Paul and sung by Kermit the Frog, which is silly, because we all know that frogs can't sing, right? Well, actually they CAN.

An da winner as chosened by Sonic dus be ................................. @wotterface witv DJ Yoda featuring Scroobius Pip with Sega RIP ..... oooooo ..... again! Well done me pal is your turn next week!

Ere wot Sonic said: Thanks for the links.  Here goes my attempt at chosin! There was an eclectic mix of links this week from the very clever Link 8 with a singing frog, the brilliant Kraftwerk in Link 3 and the draft punk in Link 7. However there could only be one winning link this week, Link 1 by DJ Yoda, because it features me - Sonic!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 8th May 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!
