@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel did win wiv Ol Man River which be from the musical Showboat. Showboat be  a collaboration between Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kerr (and PG Woodhouse) but usually we fink of Hammerstein’s musicals wiv Richard Rodgers and we chooses one of our faves from South Pacific.

@diamondbertie
Last week Terence Terrier won with Old Man River sung  by Roderick Williams,  Paul Robeson sang it in Showboat, my link is Paul Robeson singing Shenandoah.

@maggietkat
Well done Tel with “Ole man river” from Showboat. The Mississippi River rolls on and doesn’t care. The other thing that doesn’t care is time. I have chosen a song from another musical, the new Hamilton.  This is the ending number, “Who live, who dies, who tells your story”.

@soniekbt

Well done Sir T with your link O’l Man River performed at the Last Night of the Proms. We did go to the LNOTP a couple of years ago so for our link we have chosen our fav song from that (despite our Celtic heritage) - “Jerusalem” - William Blake & Sir Hubert Parry.

@djladylexie
Ol Man River is from a moosical wot is called Show Boat. A show boat dus be a boat wot is a floating theatre. Showboating has also come to mean someone who wants their behaviour to be seen at all costs where a person will do something flashy instead of achieving their goals. Boxers are well known for their showboating style before a fight. Most notable of these are Muhammad Ali. Ali called himself The Greatest (well deserved as it turned out). He floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee, the great Ali. So my link is a song about the greatest showboater of them all. Muhammad Ali from Faithless.
