Lexie's Chain: The Fortieth Chain

Hello pals.! Welcome to Week 40 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Tucker (@bvfeyj) to choose da winner. So, last week da link was You Ain't Going Nowhere  by The Byrds! Let's see wot ideas come in dis week:

@borderpup
Dis week we choose 'Return of the Grievous Angel' by Gram Parsons, because he was a member of the Byrds when they made 'Sweetheart of the Rodeo' and was responsible for their more 'country' sound. He was a huge influence on many musicians (some of them talk about him in the documentary shown on dis video) and he discovered Emmylou Harris who is also singing on this song. Mum wanted an excoos to play a Gram song, and dis is one of her favourites!

@bvfeyj
Bobby Darin, Beyond the Sea, taken from the album Epitome of Cool. Dis week me submit "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin. Why? Roger McGuinn was founding member ob da Byrds but before dat he played backup for Bobby Darin.

@rossi_dog
My mum likes the Byrds and enjoyed listening to this song. I too am a big fan of all Birds, so we picked a song by Sheryl CROW, All I wanna Do, BOL! Look forward to hearing the other suggestions this week, and may the best dog win! xxxxx

@kelsoterrier
Ok dis week I has to find a linky to You Ain't Going Nowhere by The Byrds, let me fink. Ok, da Byrds originated from LA and dere biggest hit woz a cover ov Bob Dylan's Mr Tambourine Man. Fur dis reason I gonna choose annuver Bob Dylan cover from annuver band who originate from LA. So my linky iz Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Guns N' Roses.

@i_am_fuzzy
As it's the big 4-0...huzzah! from the byrds, who clearly can't spell to slade - 'cum on feel the noize' who had many missspelt songs!!

@terenceterrier
You Ain’t Going nowhere by The Byrds was last weeks linky. That song was written by Bob Dylan as was Mr Tambourine Man which was also sung by The Byrds . My linky for the chain is the Bob Dylan version of Mr Tambourine Man.

@bunnersandharvs
we dus think dat Tucker did a supa hoopsa job last week on da seleshun... Dus make us thinky wink hard. So heer we go! we has chosun Wilson Phillips 'Release Me'. Yhey shur dus sownd a bit winey but the reason for goin wid dem wus they is dawters uf Brian Wilson wid dah Beach Boys & John n Michelle Phillips uf da Mamas and dah Papas. Dey wus all produced by dat guy wot did produce da album last week, Terry Melcher (Doris Day's son). We awso thawt dat da singy songy wus a gud transishun from 'You ain't going no where' ta 'Release Me'.

@diamondbertie
Lazy Bones by Hoagy Carmichael, also sung by Louis Armstrong and many others, Why? You aint going nowhere has the recurring line "Down in the Easy Chair" And the tune and words of Lazy Bones came to me.

@dladylexie
I gonna stick wiv da birdy feem and choose The Eagles and Desperado. Why? Well of course first fing is dat The Eagles are also a band wiv birdy name. They is also an American rock band wiv close linkies to folk and country jus like The Byrds. Bernie Leadon from The Eagles also sang at the funeral of The Byrd's guitarist Clarence White.
