Lexie's Chain: The Hundred and Thirty Seventh Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to week 137 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Rosie wiv somfink erm what was it ang on I check .... oh yeah .... She's Gone, Hall and Oates. Brillant linky  RosiePosie! So wot dus we dus av this week?

@diamondbertie
Last weeks winner was @rosieterrier - her choice was She's Gone by Hall & Oats.

This is a lament about loss on that theme I choose Kirsty McCall's Thank you for the Days. Also a lament of loss and recalled the good memories.

@skye613
@rosieterrier won the Lexieschain with " She's Gone " by Hall & Oates from their best (IMHO) best album Abandoned Luncheonette. A beautiful song lamenting a lost love. This week on Twitter I did lose two good pals OTRB. This song does speak to our lose, their journey & those they left behind " Into The West ".

@kelsoterrier
Ok, I see "She's Gone" by Hall & Oates is requiring a link. Well I normally just have a bowl of Oats and a Hall full of them seems to me to be in excess of what you should eat! Hmm, in excess...INXS! Now, I seem to remember Daryl Hall sang backing vocals on a couple INXS songs (Original Sin and All The Voices). What else can I link....well if "She's Gone" then she did Disappear! So my link is the excellent INXS with the fabulous song Disappear.

@freddie_bt
We wuz stwugglin to fink of a linky n den it occurred to us wot if we picks a song dat we'd like to link to n see if deres a route back. Our startin point came fwom da fact dat today Dad did book tickets to see da luvly The Leisure Society at The Stables in MK, da venue founded in deir garden by Jonny Dankworth n Cleo Laine. The Leisure Society is one of Dad's favwite acts. Brian Eno said of deir album "The Sleeper" "its the only thing I've been listening too lately with enthusiasm". Brian Eno has worked on many occasions with Robert Fripp who in turn has frequently worked with Daryl Hall, producing LPs and performing together. So we found a linky n ere fwom deir "The Sleeper" album are da quintessentially English "The Leisure Society" wiv "Last of the Melting Snow", at da time dis song wuz nominated for a Novello Award Nick Hemming who wrote it n sings it wuz supplementing his meagre income as a musician by workin in a fabric warehouse:

Dey also do a bwilliant cover of Gary Numan's "Cars" totally transforming it wiv ukelele, flute, cello n violin, well worth listenin too.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Miss Rosie won with "She's Gone" by Hall & Oats….that made us think about the poor people who go missing every day around the world….some of their own choice and many not….that's a very sad situation so I apologise for imposing a somber note into the Chain again…..but my choose this week is "Missing" be everything But the Girl….*run run*….got to dash!

@bunnersandharvs
Well dat Rosie paws was a cleva one winning dat linky last week with Hall & Oats' s She's Gone. We is rilly prowd of hur fur dat one! Now dat songy did make dese paws think dat if sume one wos gone den you might get sumone to go look fur dem too so dat is why our linky dus be by da same two singers Hall and Oates songy Private Eyes! We also liked clapping our paws together when we did sing dis. So get your paws clapping and get dem snapping too...cos we wotchin you! Hee hee...

@wonderwinger
The beautiful and gorgeous Rosie last week chose Hall and Oats "She's Gone". This week on my walks I've been watching the farmers bring in their harvest. There are all sorts of crops: wheat, barley, peas, linseed and OATS. I was struck by the colour of the fields that were once green but are now GOLDEN BROWN. My linky is related to the altogether more controversial crop of opium shall be Golden Brown by The Stranglers.

@terenceterrier
Da winnin linky last week woz “She’s gone”. Well if someone goes you usually say “Goodbye”. So my linky be “Bye Bye Baby (Baby Goodbye)” by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

@borderpup
So, where do we go from 'she's gone'? Well we fort it would be good to have a nice song about coming home or being at home! First we fort of Crosby, Stills & Nash wiv 'Our House', but seeing as it refers to '2 cats in the yard'- pfft! - we decided to look elsewhere. Boaf songs for the last 2 weeks have bin expressing emoshuns about someone leaving, so we choose 'Feels Like Home' by Bonnie Raitt, wot dus be the best version of this song. It's all about what it feels like to be wiv a loved one, like a rescue dog finding their forever home!

@djladylexie
Nuvva song wot we dus like of Hall & Oates dus be Maneater. So we gowin wif simple one today – wot be Maneater by Nelly Furtado!

An da winner ............... as chosen by @rosieterrier  .............. dus be ........... Briar (@wedgywinger) Well dun Briar! Oh an dat means you will be selectin the winner next week.

Ere wot Rosie said bowt it: Ooooh, as usual all da linkies were brilliant and choosing was very difficult. But I have decided dat the song 'Golden Brown' dus win. I loved the thought of the harvesting and the oaty links!  (we was careful not to listen too loud tho cos mum said dat when she was a schoolgirl she was told dat song would affect her heartbeat!!). I say, "Pah", turn it up......to 11 ;-).

You has until noon (GMT) Sunday 8th September 2013 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title!
