Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Seventy Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 274of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Sonic wiv Daft Punk and Derezzed. Let's see wot we gots dis week:

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Sonic with Daft Punk's Derezzed. In the video the Daft Punk men play on an arcade game and it immediately bought this track to mind, talking about mid 90's computer gaming. It's DJ Yoda featuring Scroobius Pip with Sega RIP.

@maggietkat
Well done Sonic with Derezzed from Tron:Legacy.  Olivia Wild was one of the stars in the movie and she was Remy "Thirteen" Hadley on "House". soundtracks on House were amazing, so I decided to pick one of the tunes, Taj Mahal playing "Honky Tonk Women".

@skye613
Sonic won with Daft Punk last week and they always make me think of Kraftwerk. Why I hear you ask? No idea they just do! Daft Punk was formed by 2 frenchmen who met in school. Kraftwerk was formed by 2 Germans who met in school! And I love this live (????) version. BOL

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Mr Sonic won with a song called Derezzed….we have absolutely no idea what that word means….so this week our link is to another nonsense word song..Bang a Boomerang by Abba.

@terenceterrier
Larst week our little pals Sonic n Spike winned wiv “Derezzed” by Daft Punk. I fink most punks were daft wiv their safety pins n fings n daft hairdos. Da only punk I remembas be Johnny Rotten although now cos he be getting on a bit he reverts to real name John Lydon. He took part in series 3 of “I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here” wot woz winned by Kerry McFadden who woz a singer in Atomic Kitten. Since derezzed means summat being destroyed I fort I pick an AK track wot be abowt summat being there forever n I gives yoo “Eternal Flame” as my linky.

@diamondbertie
Last week @sonikbt won with Daft Punks Derezzed, an very atmospheric choice, I listened to it many times as I did not know it, it has a SiFi feel about it, each time my mind swings to Zager and Evans'  In The Year 2525 The predictions are depressing and humanity seems to be rushing headlong towards it.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sonik won wiv Daft Punk. This is the daftest Punk song we noes and we luffs it!

@djladylexie
Daft Punk's last album was Random Access Memories. I am going to randomly access my memory (do you see what I did there) and access something daft (again, with the seeing what I did there). Well, one very famous but not always well know guest appearance on their album is Paul Williams who sings Touch. So my linky does be Rainbow Connection written by Paul and sung by Kermit the Frog, which is silly, because we all know that frogs can't sing, right? Well, actually they CAN.

An da winner as chosened by Sonic dus be ................................. @wotterface witv DJ Yoda featuring Scroobius Pip with Sega RIP ..... oooooo ..... again! Well done me pal is your turn next week!

Ere wot Sonic said: Thanks for the links.  Here goes my attempt at chosin! There was an eclectic mix of links this week from the very clever Link 8 with a singing frog, the brilliant Kraftwerk in Link 3 and the draft punk in Link 7. However there could only be one winning link this week, Link 1 by DJ Yoda, because it features me - Sonic!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 8th May 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain dus be inspired by da pawsome Radcliffe & Maconie Show wot you can has a listen to on dere website. Follow me @dogstoyevsky or #lexieschain on Twitter to join da fun. Remember anyfink goes! Rock, classical, opera, ballads, punk, reggae - is up to you! Fanx for playin!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Thirty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 233 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was SonikeBT wiv Run an Snow Patrol. Let's see wot we dus got this week:

@maggietkat
Well done with Run by Snow Patrol. I figured that if you run, you can "Roam" where you want to... By the B52's.

@terenceterrier
Larst week da winnin linky woz Run by Snow Patrol . If yoo runs yoo will get tired n have to slow down for a walk. So gonna use dat as my link n I gives yoo Walk on The Wildside by Lou Reed.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Snow Patrol with Run, a song about hope. I've chosen another song about hope with a brilliant video. It's also got "run" in the title, twice! "Run Boy Run" by Woodkid.

@kelsoterrier
I see last week's winning link was Snow Patrol with Run. Such a great band for us dogs, we love Snow, Squirrel Patrol, Running and Chasing Cars! This got me thinking about Canine linkies....then all that thinking made me hungry which is another canine trait, well for me anyway. After eating I started to think about our origins and how we're like a wolf in a lot of ways. Hmm, Hungry...Like The Wolf, ok, let's go with that then. A classic from Duran Duran, now, where's my treat?

@skye613
Last week @sonikebt based their  winning linky on the theme of hope and light. What is the opposite you ask? Florence has the answer "No Light, No Light ".

@djladylexie
Snow Patrol wiv Run was da winner. Snow Patrol does be a fantastic band. One of their songs we love is called Set The Fire to the Third Bar. This song is about an electric heater with 3 bars when you never had central heating unless you was posh and used to put all three bars of when it was really cold specially when it was snowin outside (see what I did there?), even if it was sunny! So we goin wiv Foo Fighters and Cold Day In The Sun.

An da winner as chosen by @sonikebt dus be ....................... @wotterface! Yay well done me pal! Dus be you next week!

Ere wot Sonike said: Well done all for great links this week. We have chosen link 3 because we like hopeful songs and the song and video were great. As a Durannie, link 4 was a very very very close second mostly because we got to watch Roger Taylor - swoon!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 26th July 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Thirty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 232 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Harvs wiv Anthem by Leonard Cohen. Let's see what we got dis week:

@claptonterrier
last week Sir Terence chose a song called Anthem by Leonard Cohen…we thought about doing some research about Mr Cohen and the clever lyrics to his songs and picking some clever song as a result…but instead we looked at rock anthems…far easier…..so this week our link is Mr Brightside by The Killers….much nicer boys than their name would suggest.

@terenceterrier
Larst week da winning linky woz Anthem by Leonard Cohen. There be lotsa anthems to choose from as linkies but fort a rendishun of God Save Da Queen mite not be kwite wot would impress da judge. So I looked at footie club anthems instead n gives you da Liverpool FC one Gerry & The Pacemakers wiv You'll Never Walk Alone . *sways along to da moosik wearing red footie shirt*

@borderpup
Well dun to Tel for picking Anthem by Leonard Cohen! When we fink of anthems, we fink of songs where people sing along and wave their lighters (or mobile phones these days!). One of our faves is On a Day Like This by Elbow. It has been used in lots of tv progs and stuff, and was the closing song for the London Olympics. We are choosing the performance from Glastonbury last year, where the rain clouds cleared to reveal a lovely sunset while they sang 'it's feeling like a beautiful daaaaaay'. Magical!

@sonikebt
Well done @bunnersandharvs for winning with 'Anthem' by Leonard Cohen. We were struck by the line "a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in" and how, when things are broken, that in light there is hope of change & repentance. So this week we are going with the themes of hope & light with 'Run' by Snow Patrol

@maggietkat
Well done with Leonard Cohen's "Anthem"! When I think of Cohen, I recall the incredible performance by K.D. Lang at the 2010 Winter Olympics. We were all mesmerized by the power of Lang's voice in Cohen's hymn, "Hallelujah".

@djladylexie
Another great Leonard Cohen song was Suzanne - a girl he had a platonic relationship wiv. A platonic friend is someone wot you is friends wiv and the subject of sex never comes up. We all needs friends from time to time and we needs em through the good times and the bad times. That's why I chosed Lean On Me.

So da winner as chosen by ........... @bunnersandharvs dus be ................. @sonikebt . Well done me pal you choosin next week.

Here's wot Harvs said: gOLLy wOt a sUpA wEeK oF LinKies. wE aLwAyS LuVs sEeiNg wOt yOO paWs cOmE uP wiD & wE diD hAvE a sUpA tiMe LiStEniN & wOs billy hARd tO cHOosE bUt wE gOIN wiD LINKy 4. sO wEhAa tO dA wiNNEr!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 19th July 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain - The Two Hundred and Thirtieth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 230 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me (again pfftttt) wiv Chain Reaction from Diana Ross. Let's see what we got dis week:

@sonikebt
Last week Lexie set off a Chain Reaction with Diana Ross. This week we're joining the Jesus and Mary Chain, "Head on".

@diamondbertie
Well done with winning last week choosing Diana Ross and Chain Reaction, I choose for my link Sam Cooke singing Chain Gang.  We have three chains here :

1. Lexie's Chain
2. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross)
3. Chain Gang (Sam Cooke)

@maggietkat
Well done Lexie with Diana Ross doing "chain reaction". Chain reactions are chemistry whether between molecules or humans. I think the "Chain Lightning" could be a physical thing, too, although with Steely Dan it is hard to tell.

@borderpup
Well dun to Lexie for winning - again! - with Diana Ross and Chain Reaction. Our linky is Goldie Lookin Chain with Fresh Prince of Cwmbran, because ... they wear chains and are no strangers to provoking a reaction! (Pawsonally I fink they would be a good choice for Glasto instead of a certain rapper who takes himself waaaay to seriously.)

@wotterface
Well last week's winner was you with Diana Ross and Chain Reaction, which is ace. The video very much reminded me of another (well, the 60's bit anyway) so my choice this week is Outcast with Hey Ya! See the similarities?

@terenceterrier
Larst week yoo winned da chainy wiv Diana Ross singing Chain Reaction wot be a songy we likes a lot. I'm not doin too well wiv my linkies so me n mum put our heads togeva. Cos mum haz science degree she immediately finked of da chain reaction caused by a nuclear exploshun like wot you get wiv nuclear bombs. She remembas lotsa Ban da Bomb protest marches in da news when she woz young. One of her favrit songs had da line ...if the button is pushed there is no running away ... referring to da red button wot launches da bomb of mass destruction n da fact yoo only hav 4 mins to get to yor underground bunker. So we gives yoo Barry McGuire n Eve of Destruction. It woz released in 1965 but fings just as bad now in da werld.

@kelsoterrier
Well my reaction to last week's chain winner was to think about Diana Ross's crazy hair - it always reminds me of a mahoosive microphone. A chain reaction is where something leads to a self-amplifying chain of events. *tenuous link alert* Such as emm one microphone leading to multiple microphones? If you had multiple microphones you could, of course, record stereophonic sound. Where am I going with this? Well The Stereophonics sang a chain reactiony type of song which was "A Thousand Trees" *sings* "It only takes one match to burn a thousand trees"

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…..last week you chose a song by the inimitable Diana Ross….she was one of the Supremes….a nice thing to eat is chicken supreme….so this made us think about the band the Dixie Chicks…and our linky this week is Wide Open Spaces by these lovely ladies….

Ere wot Dad said:  Blimey! Wot a lot of great links. I really like Goldie Looking Chain and Barry McGuire arghh!!! Both great links. Hmmm, but I have to go with Barry McGuire. Well done. I thought the Stereophonics link was funny. I too thought that of her hair.

So da winner as chosen by me dad dus be ................. @terenceterrier wiv Barry McGuire and Eve of Destruction. Well done me pal you choosin next week.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 5th July 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss).

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Twenty Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 229 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Sonic wiv New Radicals an You Get What You Give. Let's see what we got dis week:

@maggietkat
Loved the New Rascals tune! The lyrics speak to "the music in me". A ground breaking Coca Cola commercial introduced us to sharing music, the music of love within me. The New Seekers recorded a full length version. My chain is "I'd like to teach the world to sing".

@diamondbertie
Last weeks winner was @sonikebt who chose You Get What You Give by New Radicals
My mind immediately came to Justin Timberlake with What Goes Around Comes Around.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Sonic with The New Radicals and You Get What You Give. This track was a massive one hit wonder so we've gone down the 90's nostalgia route and chosen another massive one hit wonder form the 90's. Blind Melon and No Rain with the famous bumblebee girl...

@terenceterrier
Little pal Sonic winned da chainy wiv da linky “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals. Corse as everyfur noes dis be one of da fings wot Karma be abowt. So my linky dis week be “Instant Karma” by John Lennon.

@bunnersandharvs
So we so happy fur @sonikebt's win last week wid New Radicals, You Get What You Give. Dis songy made us think if we gave love we would get love so we going wid dat theme and using da Beatles All You Need Is Love. Yep, is true, everybody sing...daadadeedaada.

@djladylexie
I'm gonna be a bit radical here (ha!) an go wiv free radicals and atoms … one could say I'm startin a chain reaction! So I gives you Chain Reaction from Diana Ross!

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Mr Sonic chose a song by the New Radicals…well this week we have decided to link to some other radicals (see what I did there?)….a very controversial theory indeed is the theory about the creation of the universe….in the mid-20th century, British astrophysicists, including Stephen Hawking turned their attention to the theory of relativity and its implications regarding our notions of time. According to their calculations, time and space had a finite beginning that corresponded to the origin of matter and energy…..wow….this is now known as the Big Bang Theory…so our link this week is the Bare Naked Ladies and the theme tune to the TV series Big Bang Theory…

An the winner as chosen by ........................ Sonic  .......................... dus be ..........  no no no no!!! Wot goin on! Is me again sorry pals! Oh dear dad not gonna be appy ;).

Ere wot Sonic said:  Well done to everyone for great links this week. It was very difficult to chose a winner. We have chosen linky 6 coz we like a bit of radical thinking and this choice did make us laugh. It did also make the typist nostalgic remembering dancing to this at the disco when she was young!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 28th June 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Twenty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 223 #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Briar wiv Ben E King and Stand By Me. Let's see wot we dus gotted.

@sonikebt
Well done @wonderwinger for winning with Ben E King's "Stand by Me". Standing by people, peacefully, to create a fair & equal society for all is important given the result of #GE2015. So my linky this week is "I dreamed a dream" from Les Miserables.

@terenceterrier
Da bootiful supermodel Briar winned larst week wiv her linky “Stand by Me” by Ben E King n pals Eric C n Phil C. If sumwun is standing by yoo den probs dey are very impawtant in yor life and yoo could say yoo needs dem to get by in life. So my linky dis week is “ You’re all I need to get by” . . I chooses da Cat and Budgie vershun but Iz told dere a vicious rumour circulating dat dey miming to Marvin Gaye n Tammi Terrell . Phew I been waiting weeks to be able to use dis as a linky. I also deddykaytes it to da judge.

@wotterface
Last week's winner was Briar with Stand By Me. Stand By Me is also the name of a brilliant film with a brilliant soundtrack. So I've picked my favourite track from that soundtrack Lollipop by The Chordettes. Pop! Bu bum bum bum...

@skye613
This week my linky is " You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin". On March 25, 2015 Ben E. King's song " Stand by Me " was inducted into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry . Also inducted was this tune. Along with The Doors first album & among others Joan Baez first album. Super selections to Stand by Ben E King.

@djladylexie
Stand By Me was also the name of a movie wot had the song in it. The movie starred River Phoenix. River Phoenix's bruffa is Joacquin Phoenix who has had a great movie career. One such movie was Walk The Line about Johnny Cash. SO I gowin wiv Walk The Line from da movie of the same name.

An da winner as chosen by Briar ................... be ............................ me! Oh ... well it has been a while! Oh noes wot I gonna dus!?? Dad be in Malta so I'll have to dus it next week.

Ere wot Briar said: My winner is linky number 5, I liked the Phoenix brother movie link and Walk the Line was also another brilliant film. My second place is linky number 2, as a star of the small screen myself I love a good advert.

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 17th May 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Fourteenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 214 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Clapton Terrier wiv John Grant's Sigourney Weaver. Let's see wot we gots dis week!

@diamondbertie
At last @claptonterrier won with John Grant's  Sigourney Weaver, this is about aliens. My chosen link is also about aliens "martians"  so Jeff Waynes The War of the Worlds - The Eve of the War.

@wotterface
Last week's chain from Clapton was about an actor, Sigourney Weaver. So my link this week is a song BY an actor (amongst other things). It's Jared Leto and 30 Seconds To Mars with Up In The Air.

@terenceterrier
Larst week our little pal winned wiv “Sigourney Weaver” by John Grant. *finks hard* If yoo iz a weaver yoo makes blankies n fings on a loom wiv wool. Yoo can also use wool for knittin.  Our little pal Clapton iz made of knittin. So for my linky i gives yoo “The Knitting Song” by Bill Oddie  (betcha most pals neva heard dis one before ! )

@maggietkat
Well done with john grant and Signorey Weaver. The lyrics mention Twilight Zone and talks about vampires. This reminds me of a song by the Manhattan Transfer, Twilight Tone which has a girl with a third eye.

@skye613
Last week Sir Clapton won with " Sigourney Weaver " by John Grant. This got me thinking of the actress. Turns out her first acting role in a major film was as a minor character in Annie Hall in 1977. There was very little music in this film but there was a cover of Savoy Brown's "A Hard Way To Go".

@djladylexie
Signourney Waver by John Grant. In da song he dus also menshuns Winona Ryder and the vampire movie wot dus be called Dracula. Annie Lennox sang a song wot was in the movie called Song For A Vampire. So we goes wiv Song For A Vampire … Annie Lennox.

So the winner as chosen by @claptonterrier dus be ......... @terenceterrier. Yay! Well done Tel me pal. Next week is you.

Ere wot CT said: Well Miss Lexie…what an extremely difficult choice to make this week even though we only have six entries. We did think about choosing the Savoy Brown song because of the syncopated drumming or the Annie Lennox song because of the lovely singing but in the end we have plumped for…*ahem*…the entirely unbiased choice of Bill Oddie’s Knitting Song…its a very much over-looked issue if you ask me…can you imagine a world in which the Beatle’s record label put out songs like this? Good gracious…

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 15th March 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Thirteenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 213 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Kelso wiv A View To A Kill by Duran Duran. Let's see what we go this week:

@wotterface
A View to a Kill was a classic 80's Bond Theme. Another classic 80's Bond theme was The Living Daylights by A-Ha. A-Ha also did the classic Take On Me (not a bond theme) of which one of our favourite cover versions is by Punk ska band Reel Big Fish. So this is Reel Big Fish with Take On Me...

@borderpup
So, to follow on from 'A View to a Kill' (with something other than what I fink when I see those pesky squizzles) ... Well, a sniper would need a good view to hit his target. A good film about an assassin is 'The Day of the Jackal', about an attempt to assassinate President deGaulle, but I'm not going down that route, oh no. The film starred Mr Edward Fox (pesky foxes, grr) and it is Winter - though Spring officially starts today, I know, bear with - and so my choice is White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes.

@terenceterrier
Larst week’s winning linky woz “ A view to a kill “ by Duran Duran. We dun our homewerk and da Bond fillum wot da songy come from woz abowt an investigation of a horsey racing scam. Next week is da Cheltenham Festial wot be a big event for da hosses wot jump fings. Kauto Star woz a famuss steeplechaser wot won lots at da Festival n had a song ritted abowt him. So for my linky I gives yoo “Kauto Star” by Mark Boylan.

@maggietkat
Well done with Duran Duran! The View to a Kill was the theme for a James Bond movie of the same name. I decided to stay in the thriller genre for my link, "Harlem Nocturne". It was the theme for the Mike Hammer detective TV show. It was also used in the 1983 cult movie "Christine", the version by the Viscounts which is my choice for the week.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Mr Kelso chose a song by Duran Duran…they were famously named after a character in the sic-fi movie Barbarella….that made us think about other heroins in Sci Fi and of course we thought of Ripley from the Alien movies played by Sigourney Weaver….so this week our link is the beautiful “Sigourney Weaver” by John Grant…

@skye613
Congrats pal & have fun picking this week. So was looking at all the great artists who have song Bond themes. One of my favorites is Tina Turner who also sang the theme of another series of movies. But thinking she may have been wrong cause we sure could use one. " We Don't Need Another Hero".

@djladylexie
A View To a Kill sung by Duran Duran was from the movie called A View To A Kill wiv James Bond where yet another mad 'want to take over the world' type character aims to destroy Silicon Valley.  Annuva man wot wanted to take over the world was Dr Evil.His nemesis was Austin Powers, The Spy Who Shagged Me pokes fun at James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me. In the Spy Who Shagged Me Austin's wife is turned into a large-boobed fembot by Dr Evil. She tries to kill Austin, then self destructs. We are choosing a song from da movie wot is Beautiful Stranger from Madonna as our linky.

@diamondbertie
My choice is Nancy Sinatra with Bang Bang. It i in keeping the theme of death and killing.

So the winner as chosen by @kelsoterrier dus be ......... @claptonterrier. Yay! Well done me pal. Next week is you.

Ere wot Kelso said: Oh man it's so difficult this week.  Linky 1 is definitely my favourite song of the bunch but, for me, Linky 5 just edges the link of the week so Linky 5 is the winner :-)

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 8th March 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss).

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Twelfth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 212 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Indie with Ernie, The Fastest Milkman from Benny Hill. Lets see wot we gots dis week.

@wotterface
Last weeks winner was Benny Hill with Ernie and his fast milk cart. Poor Trigger, getting kicked by Two Tonne Ted! So I've chosen another comedian who had a hit single - Vic Reeves and the Wonderstuff with Dizzy.

@wonderwinger
Last week the wise and wonderful @borderpup won with Ernie the Fastest Milkman in the West. I thought I'd use Milk as my Linky and I immediately thought of the Sean Penn film, "Milk" the biopic about the first openly gay person elected to US public office, Harvey Milk. My song comes from the soundtrack and is the delightful disco classic by Sylvester - You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real). (Warning do not watch this video if hungover or prone to epilepsy).

@kelsoterrier
Ernie, for some reason makes me think of E.R.N.I.E. (can't think why) which is the computer that chooses the winning premium bond numbers, although he never chooses mine! The best (or Premium) Bond was, of course, Roger Moore which I'm also counting as my rude Benny Hill-esque innuendo (in your endo - that's the second one) link for the week because of the Roger More connotations. Anyway, I digress. The song Ernie was about a milkman and baker trying to win the girl and they both had a fight with A View To Kill each other. So my link this week is Duran Duran with the Bond theme A View To A Kill.

@diamondbertie
The very clever @borderpup won last weeks chain with Benny Hill's funny song Ernie - the fastest milkman in the west.  I can only choose as the link is the Benny Hill theme Yakety Sax. Why? When I listened to Ernie the theme Yakety Sax kept coming to my head.

@terenceterrier
Larst week da winning linky woz “Ernie The Fastest Milkman in the West” by Benny Hill. His character woz well known for leerin at n chasin young girls wiv big boobies. Vewy non PC n all dat but no wun knoo wot PC woz back den. Dey fort it woz Dixon of Dock Green. Anyways I digress – back to da linky. A well known comedy actress of da same era wot had her boobies leered at in da “Carry On” fillums woz Barbara Windsor. So for my linky I gives yoo a songy by Babs “Sparrows Can’t Sing”.

@djladylexie
Milkmen worked for milk companies like Unigate and drove around in their milkfloat deliverin milk. They wod ring on your doorbell and ask you if you wanted one or two pints! Are you ok for yoggit and butter and fings like that. Unigate wos a milk company wot came up wiv characters they called Humphreys. Humphreys were milk feeves wot would suck up milk few a red and white stripey straw. The White Stripes are a famous band wot are known for wearing red and white whilst performing. Here's their song, My Doorbell.

@claptonterrier
Indie won with a song called Ernie by well-known funny man, Benny Hill. We did not have to think for long about a link….Mr Hill was very silly and very funny…so this week we have chosen a song by The Divine Comedy…called National Express….

@maggietkat
Well done with Benny Hill and Ernie! I am going the silly farm route for my chain. I present to you the Peterson Brothers with Farm Style.

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Eleventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 211 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiv Ken from Kate Bush. Let's see wot appened this week.

@terenceterrier
Da winnin linky larst week woz “Ken” sung by Kate Bush. Ken of corse woz usually referred to as Red Ken. So for my linky I gonna pick “Red Flag” by Billy Tallent.

@borderpup
You know that feeling when you get one fort in your head and it won't go away? (Frow da ball, frow da ball etc). Well that's what happened this week for mum and I should just like to say this has nuffing to do wiv me whatsoever and I apologise to everyone for inflicting this song on them. Here goes ... back to the politics and stuff, mum had the 'save the GLC' stickers and badges back in the day, and she had one on once when visiting her nan in Yorksha on a day the milkman called. He was a local farmer, who just happened to be Sir Bernard Ingham's brother!! So our linky continues the politics feem with ... milk!

@smcheetham
Well done Lexie that brought back a lot of memories for me of a lot of marching I did in my youth. I have used the word Ken to give me my link this week. It's a very simple one from Ken to Kenneth and What's the Frequency Kenneth by REM. So here you go have a good week all.

@wotterface
Last weeks winner was you with the delightful Kate Bush. Kate Bush's first single was Wuthering Heights, about the book of the same name. Lots of songs have been about or inspired by literature and my pick this week was inspired by and takes it's title from John Milton's Paradise Lost.

“On a gathering storm comes/a tall handsome man/in a dusty black coat with a red right hand”.

@kelsoterrier
Kate Bush was famous for running up that hill and I can only assume she was so keen to get to the top to enjoy The View. Mr Ken Livingstone aka "people's Ken" was regarded as having the common touch with the working-class. Many tradesmen therefore probably thought of him as a superstar. So my link this week is The View with Superstar Tradesman. Think dad might like this tuuuuunne!

@diamondbertie
Here is my feeble entry, first well done with winning your choice by Kate Bush - Ken, got me thinking of spin doctors and their ilk.

This is by no means a new phenomenon, during the French Revolution a brilliant composer and and lyrics writer Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle in 1792 composed La Marseillaise which was adopted to the French National Anthem in 1795, this stirring anthem would get anyone to man the barricades.

@maggietkat
Well done Lex with Kate Bush! Since the song is about politics, I thought I would bring a bit of my world. It has been tough times in Ferguson, MO. My link is Tracey Chapman's "talking about a revolution" in honor of all those fighting for equality.

@bunnersandharvs
Well dat Lexie is on a roll dis year too wid her recent winning linky from Kate Bush - Ken. We listened to dem lyrics and thort about Ken bein a sexie machine. Dat gots us thinking about how he prolly things he rilly sexie so we thorts about da songy by Right Said Fred's 'I'm too sexy'. Dat cos it made us giggle thinking abowt dem politishuns dansin rownd looking silly wot likes most of dem dus. Happy choosing, Lexie's Dad and happy week evapaws.

@skye613
Lexie did win with a political song by Kate Bush last week pushing a candidate
for mayor of London. The Smiths have a rush and a push for their land of England. Tough week !

An the winner as decided by me dad .......... dus be ............ @borderpup  wiv Ernie by Benny Hill. Oh ham gawd. Whodda funked that?! Well ma pal next time is you to chooses.

Ere wot me Dad said:  Me again? Really? I'l have to start charging you Lex! They are all great links but the Ernie one is well thought out and funny, even though the song is utter *&@%.  So I have to go with it. This is doing nothing for my street cred!

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 15th February 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 209 of #lexieschain. Last week  the winner was me wiv New Order and World In Moshun. Let's see wot appened this week.

@smcheetham
So Lexie you won last week with a song by New Order one of my fave bands. new Order of course were formed following the tragic death of Ian Curtis and the ending of Joy Division. Joy Division have been very influential and much revered of course. Here is probably their best known song Love will Tear us Apart - don't they all look fresh faced in this video. Happy choosing everyone.

@diamondbertie
Last week @djladylexie won with World in Motion by England New Order I'm keeping the theme of football with Football Crazy by Robin Hall and Jimmy MacGregor, I know its old but I could not resist it.

+Terence Terrier
Yor linky larst week woz  New Order wiv World in Motion wot yoo sez be abowt World Cup football. So iz gonna stick wiv da world n football link and my linky iz gonna be “Love Makes The World Go Round” by Perry Como cos he haz da All American Football Team doin da backing.

+Kelso Terrier
Last week we had World In Motion by New Order. When the world is in motion (which I guess is all the time really) it spins. This made me think of a whole load of spinning linkies until I got Dizzy (like a whirlpool...but I'm not choosing Wonderstuff). My link is Dead or Alive with You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record) BABY!

@wotterface
So last weeks winner was New Order with World in Motion with John Barnes rapping. My link this week is simple. It's someone we're massive fans of in this house  - spoken word/ hip hop artist/ rapper Scroobius Pip showing us how rapping should be done. Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip and their very early track "Look For The Woman".

 +MaggieT Kat
Well done Lexie! The lyrics have one repeated phrase "express yourself". That mantra is the title for several songs, but my favorite is from 1970 by Charles Wright and the 103rd Street Rhythm Band.

+De Cunningham
The Lady DJ Lexie wants us to link to a football song. This song is a combination of singing and rap. So in keeping with that theme and considering it is Super Bowl weekend, my link is " Ready or Not". Lauryn Hill is considered one of the first & one of the best to combine rap & song. And I'm always ready for Football!

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie! Last week you chose a song associated with football….we thought it might be nice to keep the sporting theme going so this week we have chosen a song about baseball..it is a song called “Centrefield” by John Fogerty……it was included in the film Bull Durham, about baseball, and also plays at the Baseball Hall of Fame in the uSA.

An the winner as chosen by ma dad ......  dus be ....... @kelsoterrier. Yay! You be dussin the selecshun next week me pal.

Ere wot me dad said:  I can't decide between all these great links from everyone. This is annoying. How did I get stuck doing this again? The spinning one made me laugh so that is my choice. [Lexie's note: this is not a fix, dad does not know who anyone is I promise]

So it's over to you. Email me: lexie at toxicpenguin dot com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 8th February 2015 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!
