Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Twenty Sixth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 326 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Megan wiv  Let see what we gots this week:

@daisy_dor
Well done Megan on another win on da chain and I very much enjoyed all the linkys. This week Megan's link allows me to link yo my most favourite song "Mahna Mahna" also by the Muppets. Why? Cos it is a song to indicate it has gone 5pm on a Friday fanks to Mr Simon Mayo which means humum is coming home and da weekend starts. Plus it do make me laugh.

@maggietkat
wonderful link with the Dancing Bear. I have loved the Muppets for years and always looked forward to their musical numbers. Some of their best are covers of famous songs. My link this week is "Bohemian Rhapsody" whether by the Muppets or Queen. The Jim Henson studio did an incredible job recreating the Queen video, so please check Queen's out as well.

@diamondbertie
What else to do on a wet, windy Sunday than ponder on your chain. @cloonfourmegan chose and won with the Muppets and Simon and His Amazing Dancing Bear, this made me laugh and put me in such good humour I had to choose Bare Necessities from the film Jungle Book.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Lady Megan won with a song from the muppet show. The Muppets have had very many famous musical guest stars over the years…we looked up the Billboard top 10 list of the best of those guests and the one I think liked the most was Elton John signing Muppet Crocodile Rock with the cast…

@terenceterrier
Larst week Megan give us "Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear" from The Muppet Show. Corse everyfur noes dat dis show be fronted by Kermit the Frog. So for my linky I looks for songs wiv frogs. Corse it has to be da hit by Paul McCartney and The Frog Chorus "We All Stand Together".

@sonikebt
Well done @CloonfourMegan for the win with "Simon smith and his amazing dancing bear. This week we are going with a dancing theme with our link "Wake me up before you go go" by Wham.

@djladylexie
Aww we loves Da Muppets! Well let me see .. my linky does be Big Bird from Sesame Street. What? How dat you asks! Well, Jim Henson created The Muppets who starred in the hit show The Muppets. Frank Oz was the puppeteer behind many of the muppets. The Muppets went on to star in Sesame Street, a children's TV show. One of the most famous stars of Sesame Street dus be Big Bird. Big Bird is a ... well ... err a big bird! Frank Oz was offered the part of Big Bird but declined as he didn't like performing full body characters. Frank Oz was also in Blues Brothers. Blues Brothers sang a song called Shake Your Tail Feather which is about shaking your behind to da music.  Some, bend over and let me see you shake your tail feather.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Megan...................... dus be .............................. piffle! Is me again. Me dad will dus the choosin fanx you.

Ere wot Megan said: It has been really lovely judging this week with so many muppet references. Mum still has her vinyl album of Muppet Show hits and do indeed model herself on Miss Piggy! Anyhoo ... we did love all the detail about Big Bird and we do love shaking our tail feathers so we chooses Linky 7!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Twenty Fourth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 324 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Tiger Mount Peasant Song from Fleet Foxes. Let see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done, Lexie! I am taking off on your folk song link and go to bluegrass. There have been many versions, including Bob Dylan and Ginger Baker, of this folk tune but you may recognize mine from the movie, O Brother Where Art Though.?  My link is , Man of Constant Sorrow.

@diamondbertieSkye Waulking song by Capercaillie was last week's winner my choice is keeping to tradition and folk songs. Bob Saget singing An Old English Folk Song.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie….last week your winner carried on the Scottish theme with another song about Skye….it seems to me that the biggest  thing on the mind of our Scottish pals at the moment is their own independence …so this week our linky is a song about independence….Independence Day by Bruce Springsteen….

@terenceterrier
Larst week da svelte Lexie winned wiv "Sky Waulking song" by Capercaillie who be a Scottish folk band wot sing traditional Gaelic songs n fings. So for my linky to even fings up I looks for a traditional English folk ballad n chooses "Scarborough Fair" cos for sake of linkiness it has links to old Scottish ballad "The Elfin Knight". I gives yoo da Simon n Garfunkel long vershun wiv lyrics to enjoy.

@cloonfourmegan
Oooh I scratched my head to fink of Linky to your winning entry last week of Skye Waulking Song. In the end I chooses another Scottish song about wa(u)lking but not the beating tweed variety but the one you does wiv your legs.

@sonikebt
Congrats @Dogstoyevsky for winning the link with the "Skye Waulking Song" by Capercaillie sung by Karen Matheson, who lives in the same town as us.  We have chosen a song which was inspired by a local, unusual rock formation called Auld Wives Lift by a band which shares our town's name. Our link is "Auld Wives" by Bear's den.

An da winner as chosen by ............... dad ...................... dus be .............................. Sonic!! Yay well done me pal.

Ere wot dad said: Auld Wives interesting link. This is my choice.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on Monday 24th April 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Twenty Third Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 323 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Tiger Mount Peasant Song from Fleet Foxes. REMEMBERS! CHANGE TO DEADLINE NOW MONDAY NOT SUNDAY COZ MUM USELESS. Let see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done with Skye boat Song. Bertie described the song about the devastation of the Scots. I got to thinking about how 2 countries on the island of Great Britain could fight. I remembered the American Civil war. I have a negro spiritual about boats and war from that period, found by a music historian and recorded in the 1950's.  I chose Pete Seeger for this version and please sing along with "Michael Row the Boat Ashore".

@terenceterrier
Larst week Uncle Bertie winned n give us da Skye Boat Song by Kenneth McKellar. Dis be abowt da escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie to da Isle of Skye in a lickle sailing boat from da English forces. For my linky I going wiv annuva Scottish singer Rod Stewart n his song " Sailing" . I also keeping wiv da war theme n giving yoo da video of HMS Ark Royal.

@cloonfourmegan

Last week Bertie won with the very moving Skye Boat Song. We keep the theme of Celtic boat with The Irish Rover sung by the Pogues. Not as sad ... except where "the poor old dog was drowned"!

@sonikebt
Well done @diamondbertie for winning with "Skye Boat Song". We are sticking with the boat theme this week. Our choice is a song about living a simple, honest life with "Dignity" by Deacon Blue.

@djladylexie
Well done Bertie wiv Skye Boat Song wot relates to the escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie who escaped to the Isle of Skye after defeat at Culloden. Considered a tragic hero of Scotland he has stood the test of time through history. I'm using Scottish heros as me feme this week and goin wiv one of me favourites Rob Roy. Rob Roy was made into a movie cunningly entitled Rob Roy. The soundtrack features Karen Matheson singer from the band Capercaillie. They also did a songa bout Skye Waulking (which is beating tweed).

@skye613
Why I love Lexieschain? Because I always learn something new! Did not know there was an island named after Me! And did you know that the common goldeneye is found on the Isle of Skye? My linky this week is Tina Turner & the theme from Goldeneye! Enjoy.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Bertie ...................... dus be ............................. oh ......... guess who! Yep ... me! Haha dad will be choosin.

Ere wot Bertie  said:  I've made my choice, a difficult one because all the links were lovely, I've settled for Skye Waulking Song by Capercaillie, I did not know it and I played it again and again. The song captures the culture of the islands, the haunting melody just caught the imagination of these islanders making the fabulous tweed they are famous for.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on MONDAY 17th April 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Twenty Second Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 322 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Skye wiv Tiger Mount Peasant Song from Fleet Foxes. REMEMBERS! CHANGE TO DEADLINE NOW MONDAY NOT SUNDAY COZ MUM USELESS. Let see what we gots this week:

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was by the band Bastille..so that immediately made us think about France...and as I am off to France and Belgium this weekend I thought I would see if there were any songs about Bastille Day...and of course there are...

So this week our linky is Bastile Day by Rush...not so much because we think it might win but more because we like the thought of our pals having to listen to some Rush....BOL!

@sky613
In 2011, Bastille self-released their second EP " Laura Palmer". In 1990, one of the top rated shows was Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks was a huge cult favorite, though it only lasted 2 seasons. It dealt with the question... Who Killed Laura Palmer. Our linky today is from the soundtrack of the show. All the music used on the show was original.

@maggietkat
Well done with Bastille's  . I thought about the Bastille and other great *cough* prisons. I seemed to recall this song going round "I dreamed a Dream". I looked it up and it was from some musical Les Misérables . So, that is my link.

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Sonic for winning da linky last week. Me dunno how some groups come up with their names, but the Bastille is a medieval fortress, armoury & political prison in Paris wot was famously stormed during the Frenchy revolution. Marie Antoinette was da last queen of da Frenchys and allegedly told peeps to eat cake if they not afford bread. Maybe not da best idea she ever had and she did laters have her head lopped off so mebbe dat proved the point. Still I can imagine her going to her death singing my choice of linky dis week ..... Edith Piaf - Non, je ne regrette rien.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Sonic won with Good Grief and Bastille. That group made us think of France and all things revolutionary which takes us to  one of our favourite musicals and this stirring rendition from the film version.

@diamondbertie
Sonic chose Good Grief by Bastille, this is in a way a lament, my choice is another lament and if you listen to the words they are so sad, it's the Skye Boat Song sung by Kenneth McKellar. After the fall of the Jacobites at Colluden in 1745 Bonny Prince Charlie fled for his life. The revenge brought to the scots was unimaginable and terrible.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pals Sonic n Spike win da chainy wiv "Good Grief" by Bastille. Dat is summat wot peeps say when dey surprised. Annuva saying is "Goodness Gracious Me" .  There be a song of this name wot woz recorded by Peter Sellers n Sophia Loren to promote their film "The Millionairess" . More recently it woz covered by Rowan Atkinson n Pixie Lott so I gonna use dis video as my linky.

@djladylexie
Sonic did win wiv good grief by bastille. Hmmm well the Bastille was a fortress in Paris wot was erm ... well stormed by the people for the people wot was part of the revolution in France. The most notorious killing machine of the french revolution was the guillotine wot chops off your head especially if you was royal. One such person was Marine Antoinette. Lady Gaga duns a song about her so dat me linky wot is Lady Gaga and Marie Antoinette.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Sonic ...................... dus be ............................. Bertie! Yay well done me pal. You be choosin next week!

Ere wot Sonic said:  Thanks for all the great links this week - quite an eclectic mix. Our choice this week is link 6 - The Skye Boat Song. The reason we picked this one is because Flora MacDonald was born on the Isle of South Uist as was my lovely Dad.  Anything that reminds me of him and his beautiful homeland is always a good choice. As a fan of Twin Peaks we were very nearly swayed by link 2.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on MONDAY 10th April 2017 (gets it to me by 10am UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Twentieth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 320 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Megan wiv Touch Me from Sam Fox . Let see what we gots this week:

@sonikebt
Last week's winning song from @CloonfourMegan  was "Touch Me" by Sam Fox. During her music career Sam worked with Stock Aitken & Waterman as did the group we have chosen this week. This group features in The Guinness Book of Records as the all-female group with the most chart entries in the world. Our choice this week is one of first they did with SA&W - "Venus" by Bananarama.

@djladylexie
Hmmm let's see ... me linky is touching and boobies. Sam Fox started her career as a pin up girl and topless model and page 3 girl in The Sun and was one of the most photographed women of the 1980's.So me wondered who was the most photographed person in the world ever? Is not as easy a question as you'd fink. I did find out that the most selfied (pifflefiffle) apart from me is Kim Kardashian who takes over 1500 pics a day of herself!! Well, as we know, if we are down wiv da kids, Kim Kardashian  is married to rapper Kanye West. Ere be a song rap fing by im wot is called Touch The Sky wot has got Pamela Anderson in it wot has also got famuss boobies.

@skye613
Congrats Megan! Now there's an instant classic. Let's combine a few names today for our linky. From the presenter of this hit, Mick Fleetwood, we take Fleet. And from the artist, Fox. And to link it all together, foxes are rather tiger like in a smaller package.  The tune for your consideration.... " Tiger Mountain Peasant Song " by Fleet Foxes, enjoy!

@maggietkat
Well done with Sam Fox's Touch Me.  I have no idea how my mind jumped straight to my link, but this is Susan Sarandon in Rocky Horror Picture show singing Touch-a Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Megan winned wiv da linky "Touch Me" by Samantha Fox. Before she woz a singer she woz page 3 model . Pondering on dis I recalls da painting "The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies" wot features in da TV sitcom " Allo Allo". In dis da cafe in German occupied France be run by Rene n his wife Edith. Edith be da cabaret singer wot supposed to entertain da customers but she be appallingly bad at it.  So to save yoo from listening to her I finds annuva French singer called Edith wot be lots better. So my linky be "Non - Je Ne Regrette Rien" by Edith Piaf.

@diamondbertie
Well done Megan, Samantha Fox singing Touch me, what a lovely song about yearning, we've all been there, here's my link also about yearning, it's Shirley Bassey singing Kiss Me Honey Honey Kiss Me.

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Megan for chalking up annuver win on da chain with Sam Fox and Touch Me *shudders at the horror*. How on earth this song made it to number 3 in the charts in the week of 30 March 1986 baffles me. Mind you at number 1 that week was Cliff Richard and The Young Ones wiv Living Doll ... yet annuver monstrosity but at least it was for charidee. At number 2 that week was the fantabulous Sam Cooke wiv Wonderful World. So dat my linky dis week.

An da winner as chosen by ............... Megan  ...................... dus be ............................. Skye wiv Tiger Mount Peasant Song by Fleet Foxes.

Ere wot me Megan said: Oooh we lubs the linkys this week, all the booby references and so many songs that are mum's favs but we choose one we didn't know before and that is Linky No 3 and those Fleet Foxes.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 26th March 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Seventeenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 317 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Megan wiv Marry Me from Bruno Mars. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done with "Marry Me". That song was recorded with the Doo-Wops and the Hooligans. I am picking a doo-wop love song (2 links!) "Why do fools fall in love" by Frankie Lyman and the Teenagers.

@claptonterrier
last week Miss Megan chose our winner…a song about getting wanting to get married…..so this week we wondered what might follow “popping the question”…well, I think the first thing that happens is taking vows in a church…so this week our linky is the song “I Do” by Jewel.

@skye613
So we gots a great vid and a great song! Bruno sings so pretty. Makes me want to dance & fall in love. Hey Mr DJ!

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Me-gan for the victory last week with Bruno Mars and Marry Me. Short n sweet this week for my linky so I keeps on da theme of marriage dis week with Don't Marry Her by the super wondrous Beautiful South. PS for those of a nervous disposition dis is the original version with da expletives innit.

@diamondbertie
@cloonfourmegan 's choice of Marry You by Bruno Mars was lovely and it's opened a huge choice of weddings and marriage. My choice is Radetzky March by Johann Strauss Sn, this stirring music was used at the wedding of Princess Anne to Captain Mark Phillips, also heard at the News Years Day Concert from Vienna.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Dame Megan winned da chainy wiv "Marry Me" by Bruno Mars. But wot if da marriage dussnt werk owt n it end in tears n divorce ?  Tammy Wynette had a hit in 1967 wiv D.I.V.O.R.C.E. but for my linky I gonna use da Billy Connolly vershun cos it be a gud laff.

@sonikebt
Well done @cloonfourmegan winning the link with "Marry You" by Bruno Mars. Let's hope the girl said yes coz we always luvs a "Wedding Party" by Paul Buchanan.

@djladylexie
Bruno Mars was born in Hawaii (who knew!).  He was raised in Waikiki neighbourhood of Honolulu. When you marry someone you have a wedding. What better place to have a wedding than Waikiki! Well ere be a song from an old movie called Waikiki Wedding from Bing Crosby called Sweet Leilani.

An da winner as chosen by .................  Megan dus be ........... Daisy wiv Don't Marry Her from Bootiful Sarf. Woop well done Daisy you broke your duck! You choosin next week.

Ere wot Megan said: Well what great linkys this week and we enjoyed howling along to lots of these. But we did decide on the Linky number 4 wiv the norty words! We love the Beautiful South

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on 5h March 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain dus be inspired by da pawsome Radcliffe & Maconie Show wot you can has a listen to on dere website. Follow me @dogstoyevsky or #lexieschain on Twitter to join da fun. Remember anyfink goes! Rock, classical, opera, ballads, punk, reggae - is up to you! Fanx for playin!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Sixteenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 316 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was El Tel wiv The Bike Song, Mark Ronson . Let's see what we gots this week:

@diamondbertie
Last week @TerenceTerrier won with The Bike Song by Mark Ronson, this got me thinking of a hilarious animated film called Belleville Rendez-vous and song The Triplets of Belleville even if I don't win I want to share this YouTube clip it too funny to keep to myself.

@cloonfourmegan
Terence won last week with Mark Ronson's Bicycle Song. Mark Ronson's biggest hit was Uptown Funk with vocals by Bruno Mars. This is our favourite Bruno Mars song and we love the joyous video too

@skye613
" What a long strange trip it's been, "  Think I should have ridden my bike. Nothing was coming to this paw for a link this week. Decided to take a look at Mark Ronson. Sure there's " Uptown Funk " but what else. On March 17, 2014,  Mark gave a TED Talk, basically defining sampling. To simplify, sampling is taking a small piece of recorded music and using it. Mostly these pieces are used in a loop and in Hip Hop. But the most sampled recording artist of all time is James Brown! My linky this week " I Feel Good " Thanks, James!

@claptonterrier
Sir Terence chose a song by Mark Ronson as the winning linky…we see that he was born on 4 February 1975….so we used the clever internet to see what other things happened in music history on 4 February…and we saw that the Beatles recorded Across the Universe on 4 Feb 1968…and so this week our linky is a version of that song sung by Rufus Wainwright…(because all the Beatles videos on Youtube seem to be blocked!!)…pffft.

@maggietkat
Well done with "The Bike Song". I figure there are 2 things in the song, transportation and a city. I thought we would transport ourselves to New Orleans and take in some sights. To do this, Paul Simon is going to "Take me to the Mardi Gras". After all, Mardi Gras this week!

@daisy_dor
Congrats Terence on you victory last week wiv "The Bike Song" by Mark Ronson. Not a song dat I knew and it always good to broaden your horizons. My linky this week sticks to the bicycling theme .... and wiv a simple substitution of the word "pushbike" for "bike" we move from Mark Ronson to The Mixtures (not them Mungo Jerry lot wot covered it 20 years later). So der we go, I gives you The Pushbike Song by The Mixtures.

@sonikebt
Last week's winner was @terenceterrier with "The Bike Song" by Mark Ronson and The Business intl. Mark Ronson has an impressive list of collaborations however we are going with a song he produced in the same year as "The Bike Song" - 2010. Mark was a fan of this band and wanted to produce the album he thought they should have after the success of Rio. The song is "All you need is Now" by Duran Duran.

@djladylexie
The singer on The Bike Song features the rapper Spank Rock. Dat dus be a very strange name me finks. Using the power of google we decided to look up the worse rapper name sof all time. Well I certainly ain't gonna tell you the no 1 wurst name, cos is very rude! So we goin wiv da number 1 most famus rapper instead that dus be Snoop Dog, must be good as he's got dog in the name!). So here be a song from Snoop Dog (what was snoop doggy dog). Drop it like it's hot. Hope that's not rude!

An da winner as chosen by .................  Tel dus be ........... Megan wiph  Marry You, Bruno Mars . Well done me pal! You choosin next week.

Ere wot Tel said: Fanks my pals for da 8 linkies. Yoo all werked very hard dis week ! I went back n forth between dem finding it so hard to decide cos da linkies were very clever n I liked lots of da songs. Finally wiv a bit of help from da other furs here I choose linky numba 2 wot be Bruno Mars n "Marry You" We luvved da mob dance video n it be a cheerful bop along songy.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 26th February 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fifteenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 315 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Clapton wiv Rocket 88 by Ike Turner. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with "Rocket 88". This was one of the first time the fuzz or distortion song was used. The story is that someone dropped a speaker on Highway 61. It worked but only by stuffing stuff to hold the woofer and with the buzz.  My link is Bob Dylan's tune Highway 61 revisited.

@skye613
So Sir Clapton won last week with a song about the 1951 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. There are about bizillion songs about cars, all types, shapes, and sizes. But what does each and every one of these cars need? Why A " Car Wash " of course. Here's an animated version from the movie Shark Tank! Enjoy pals!

@terenceterrier
Larst week little pal Clapton winned da chainy wiv da songy "Rocket 88" wot be a car. Da car be a mode of transport n annuva wot be favoured by Clapton n TT be da bicycle. So my linky be "The Bike Song" by Mark Ronson, The Business Intl.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Clapton won with Ike Turner and his rocket song. Well Ike was famously married to Tina. Tina Turner appeared in the Mad Max series in Beyond the Thunderdome. There are various songs by people called Max and we pick this one by Max Bygraves Gilly Gilly Ossenfetter Katzenellenbogen by the Sea!

@daisy_dor
Congrast to Mr Clapton last week, a tricky place to linky from but here goes. Rocket 88 was covered by Bill Hailey and the Saddlemen only a few months after the Brenston / Turner version. Bill Hailey is probably best known for da song Rock Around Da Clock was was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1982. Also inducted in da same year is my song choice - Crazy by Patsy Cline.

@diamondbertie
Last winner was Rocket88 by Ike Turner and Jackie Brenston, I noted the superlative piano playing, my choice this time is Winifred Atwell playing The Poor People of Paris she was an entertainer who exuded joy to her playing, it was the American Servicemen in WWII who introduced her to rag time.

@djladylexie
Well done me pal for da win! Well let me see. Ike Turner was of course married to Tina Turner in what turned out to be a very unpleasant and aboosive relationship. Once she managed to escape from him her solo career overtook anything he could have ever imagined! So this is me tribute to a very great singer. Her first single after Ike, from the same named album. What's love got to do wiv it!

An da winner as chosen by .................  Clapton dus be ........... Terence! Well done Tel me pal wiph The Bike Song from Mark Ronson.

Ere wot CT said:  Well Miss Lexie this is a most difficult choice this week. A very fine collection of links. So, we have narrowed it down to two....linky 3 because it is all about the bike and so very close to our heart...and linky 7 because ancient pawson TT went to see Miss Turner playing live on the tour of the album which that song came from....so we have put it to a vote here at BT HQ as we have our familiy musician at home for the night and so the winner this week is linky 3 The Bike Song!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 19th February 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss).

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Fourteenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 314 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was me wiph Sting and Moon Over Bourbon Street. Let's see what we gots this week:

@daisy_dor
Concats to @maggietkat on winning last week. This week I is going for a simple linky ... Bob Seger did co-write a song with Don Henley, Glenn Frey & JD Souther wot was performed by Frey and Henley's band The Eagles. Dat song was Heartache Tonight and is brilliant ... so dat's it The Eagles, Heartache Tonight is my linky this week.

@terenceterrier
Larst week pal Maggie struck a blow for da kittehs n put a win on da board. Da winning linky wos Bob Seeger n "Old Time Rock and Roll" . Da video come from da film Risky Business. Annuva song used in dat film  be "In The Air Tonight " singed by Phil Collins. Dat gonna be my linky but I gonna use da vershun wiv da Cadbury Gorilla (extended mix so we gets da whole song) n because I likes to drum along on my own kit made wiv saucepans n wooden spoons.

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was “Old Time Rock n Roll”…so what better link this week than to go allllll the way back to what is often cited as the first rock & roll record: “Rocket 88” by Ike Turner and Jackie Brenston…!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Maggie won with Old Time Rock and Roll performed by Bob Segar. It was written by George Jackson who also wrote this performed by the Osmonds. *screams* love you Donny!

@sonikebt
Last week's winner was @maggiekat with "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger. Bob did not take a songwriting credit for this song despite claiming to rewrite the lyrics. Songwriting credits is a bit of a murky world with lots of artists claiming credit for not very much input. However there are bands who choose to share songwriting credits equally. This includes Radiohead, Supergrass, Coldplay & Duran Duran. So this week we are going to celebrate the bands who believe in fairness with the 1994 Ivor Novello Award winning song "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran.

@djladylexie
Bob Seger's musical career kicked off wiv Bob Seger & The Last Heard. He quickly changed the band name to Bob Seger System who released a single and album of the same name in 1969 - Ramblin Gamblin Man.  Is amazin how many songs have ramblin in te title! One of our favourites dust be Ramblin Man by Lemon Jelly. So dat is our linky.

An da winner as chosen by ................. Maggie dus be ........... Clapton wiv Rockett 88 by Ike Turner. Yay well done CT. You dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot Maggie said: My choice for the winning song "Rocket 88". All wonderful links this week so it was hard to choose. Rocket 88 struck home 2x. Mom's grandpa drove an Oldsmobile Delta 88 (not the muscle car but the make and model # close). Next you all know Mom lived in Chicago and we live in St. Louis. Ike grew up in East St. Louis and We all love the Chess catalog.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 13th February 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eleventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 311 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Megan wiv somfink. Let's see what we gots this week:

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Megan der victory last week. Dis one is a tad tricky cos me nots knows da music of Da Lost Shadowy Puppetyfings, so i did has to put my finkings caps on ... Dem is on a Domino music label (well so wikidodats says), also on dat label is Franz Ferdinand and me has been known to gets me grove on to Take Me Out. So der it is, my linky dis week is Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Lady Megan pinned her name on da scoresheet wiv "Miracle Aligner" by The Last Shadow Puppets. I noes nuffin abowt dem so I rummages in Wikipedia n reads dat dey played at Glastonbury larst year n performed "Moonage Daydream" in memory of David Bowie. Since it be a year ago dis week dat Bowie died I woz gonna go wiv da original as my linky. Nah! I gonna take dis a step further. For my linky I gonna give yoo David Bowie doing a cover in memory of sumwun wot died. So I gives yoo as my linky da live vershun of David Bowie singing "Imagine" as a tribute to John Lennon.

@claptonterrier
Last week we had a song by The Last Shadow Puppets...in looking at their Wikipedia page we noticed an odd footnote which just said "Dutch singles positions"...so this week our linky is to the song which is currently number 1 in the Dutch singles chart....Clean Bandit by Rockabye!

@maggietkat
Well done! Radiohead was indeed a progressive band. My band also broke in as a progressive band, Talking Heads. The song link was Burn the Witch and my song is "Burning Down the House". So, some Head band is burning something!

@skye613
Congrats Megan, love this tune. Never heard it before so began investigating. The genre is Baroque Pop. The infusion of " classical music, orchestral pop, rock and Baroque music." It emerged in the 60's  blending harmonies and instruments not heard previously in rock/pop. My linky this week is said to have started the British Baroque Pop movement.

@sonikebt
Well done @cloonfourmegan for last week's winning link, The Last Shadow Puppets and "Miracle Enabler". We are staying with the theme of miracles and a fav band from the typists youth - "Promised you a Miracle" by Simple Minds.

@djladylexie
Hmm shadow puppets are fun as are finger puppets. Mum is so old she used to watch Fingerbobs. Fingerbobs was a TV programme wot was in the 1970's. There was a mouse puppet called Fingermouse. Finberbob was mentioned in the video of by Lost Prophet's A Town Called Hypocrisy. So me goin wiv dat as me linky.

An da winner as chosen by ................. Megan ............... dus be .................. @sky613. Yay! Concats me pal .. dat mean you choosin next week!

Ere wot Megan said: I does be most impressed wiv the amount of research undertaken by da chainers this week and some very inventive linkys. We ummed and aahed a bit but finally we pick clever Linky 5 and we does love the chilled out song too.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 22nd January 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Tenth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 310 of Lexie's Chain. Last week the winner was Terence wiv Mike Oldfield's William Tell. Let's see what we gots this week:

@maggietkat
Well done Sir (once again). Oldfield's music inspired artists including Walter Murphy and his hit "Fifth of Beethoven". I decided to leave this syntho music and go back to rock and roll roots while staying in the theme of classical music with the inimitable Chuck Berry's "Roll over Beethoven".

@wotterface
The first winner of 2017 was Tel with Mike Oldfield. Mike Oldfield was a prog rocker and there's a current track by some other prog rockers that's on loop in our house. I'm sick of floopin hearing it! It's Radiohead and Burn the Witch.

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Tel started as he means to go on by winning with Mike Oldfield playing the Lone Ranger. Mike Oldfield's biggest single was Moonlight Shadow. This week Supergroup The Last Shadow Puppets won best album art and here is one of their songs Miracle Enabler.

@claptonterrier
last week our winner was Mike Oldfield and the William Tell Overture….well that made us think about the place of classical music in pop music…there have been some famous sings inspired by classical music…famous pop producer Pete Waterman described Johann Pachelbel as ‘almost the grandfather of pop’, referring to the way that the ground bass of Pachelbel’s Canon has, in one way or another, provided the starting point for a whole legion of songs – Waterman himself admitted that it had even been the spark for Kylie Minogue’s ‘I should be so lucky’. The most famous instance of Pachelbel’s work being referenced in pop came when Liverpudlians The Farm released their ‘Altogether Now’ in 1990. So that is our linky this week.

@skye613
Happy 2017 #Lexieschain! To start our new year, Terence has given us the William Tell Overture. William Tell is said to be the forerunner of Robin Hood. Both legends have been made into films through the years. In 1991, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was released and became the second highest-grossing film of the year. But the song, written specifically for the film, was the #1 hit of 1991. And won a Grammy!

@daisy_dor
Congrats to Terence on a super linky last time. Me dus luff a bit of Mike Oldfield. Mike Oldfield do have a passion for fings transport and is a licensed pilot. His Augusta Bell 47G helichopter appeared on the sleeve of his cover version of the ABBA song "Arrival". So for my linky I am choosing a song from da ABBA album of the same name - "Money, Money, Money". After all we all needs da money for noms.

@djladylexie
William Tell was most famous for shooting an apple from his son's head in one shot with his crossbow, to save his life. Sir Isaac Newton alledgedly discovered gravity when an apple fell on his head. Those apples is dangerous I must say! So, moral of da story is don't sit under the apple tree! So here me linky Andrew Sisters and Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree.

@diamondbertie
@Terenceterrier won with Mike Oldfield playing William Tell. My choice is keeping the TV/film theme, the film Breakfast at Tiffanys the theme music has to be Moon River, the version I chose is by Ackerman Bilk it's so gentle and mellow.

@sonikebt
Well done Sir Tel winning the first chain of the year with Mike Oldfield playing the William Tell Overture. Classical music is the inspiration to many pop songs from Saturday Night Fever (Mussorgsky -Night on Bald Mountain) to S Club 7 (Faure's Pavane).  We have chosen as our link this week a song which features a theme from Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor - "Plug in Baby" by Muse.

(here's the link to Bach if you fancy a listen)

An da winner as chosen by ................. Terence ............... dus be .................. @cloonfourmegan. Yay! Concats me pal .. dat mean you choosin next week!

Ere wot Tel said: Fank yoo pals for da 9 linkies. Dey woz all well fort owt n cleverly  linked to mine n it took me ages to decide on da winner. In da end I decided to go wiv linky 3 - The Last Shadow Puppets "Miracle Enabler ". A very close 2nd woz linky 5 - Bryan Adams "(Everything I Do) I do it for You". I  always listens to a linky while wotchin da video first then goes back n listens to all again wivowt. I fink dis impawtant cos some of dem woz weird to wotch !

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 15th January 2017 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee. So good idea to type DO NOT DELETE in the title and dussnt forget to send a linky to da video from You Tube!

Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 309 and da first week of 2017! First of all congratulations to Terence who dus be Chain Champ of 2016! Yay! Right, down to business. Last week the winner was Bertie wiv The Lone Ranger. Let's see what we gots this week:

@claptonterrier
Last week our winner was the theme from the Lone Ranger….that programme used to run on Saturday mornings alongside other programmes like Champion the Wonder Horse….that made us think about Queen singing We are the Champions…and of course it is then a short leap to our link this week…George Michael singing Queen’s Somebody to LOve…

@maggietkat
Well done with the theme from Lone Ranger. Ranger protect land, forests and as soldiers oppressed peoples. My pick of the week is a song about a special division of the US Army. Here is SSGT Barry Sadler's self penned and vocals  "Ballad of the Green Berets".

@wotterface
Last week's winner was the theme tune to the Lone Ranger tv show. Well there's only one song to link to that, Sugarhill Gang's Apache!

@skye613
These always give me a head shake. Great win! So The Lone Ranger had a horse named Silver. Hi Ho Silver.... So da horse must get thirsty right? My linky " Silver Springs" Live for the Tucker Man! Happy New Year Pals!

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Bertie won with the Lone Ranger. In the film remake Johnny Depp plays Tonto. Johnny used to be with Vanessa Paradis who made this lovely French song about a pretty taxi.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Uncle Bertie winned wiv da feem toon from da Lone Ranger TV series. Annuva TV series from da same period wot woz also a favrit wiv my mum woz William Tell. She had her own crossbow doncha kno! Any ways I finds a supa vershun of da William Tell overture wot be performed by Mike Oldfield n lotsa clones. Dis be my linky.

@sonikebt
Happy New Year pals. Going to start the year with a classy song following on from last week's winning song of "Hi ho Silver ...." For our first link of the year we give you "Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to work we go" from Snow White.

@djladylexie
Me linky is Bryan Ferry! What? Ok Long Ranger to Tonto, the Lone Ranger's side kick! Tonto was played by Jay Silverheels who was the son of a Mohawk Tribal Chief. The Mohawk is a hairstyle sported mainly by punk rockers. Patti Smith was a punk rocker in the 70's and had an album called Horses. Patti Smith accepted the nobel prize on behalf of Dylan in December 2016 where she sang his hit - Hard Rain. Bryan Ferry covered Hard Rain on his debut solo album These Foolish Things. So from da album I give you Hard Rain, Bryan Ferry.

An da winner as chosen by ................. Bertie  ............... dus be .................. @terenceterrier. Wow Tel off to a flyin start already! Dat is Tel wot dus choosin next week.

Ere wot Bertie said: Those were brilliant links, I could see where each choice came from. Sugarhill Gang's Apache made me smile,  the Ballard of the Green Berets brought a tear to her eye, her dad was in 2nd SAS in WWII,  she is so proud of him and all soldiers.
However the talented Mike Oldfield with his version of William Tell Overture was brilliant I have to choose only one winner so I choose link number six. Happy new year everyone. Love Christine aka diamondbertie.

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Three Hundred and Eighth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 308 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was me wiv White Horsies. Let's see what we gots this final chainy week:

@terenceterrier
Larst week moosik diva Lexie winned wiv "White Horses " by Jackie Lee. There are lotsa wild white horses in da Camargue. Mum woz wotchin film abowt dem in cinema when news came on screen dat JF Kennedy woz assasinayted. Marilyn Munroe woz a speshall *coughs* friend of his. So I chose for my linky MM performing "I Want To Be Loved By You" in da funny film "Some Like It Hot". It always woz on at Christmas when mum woz younger.

@maggietkat
Well done with "White Horses". Staying with The color white and adding in the season, my pick is "White Christmas".

@skye613
And a very Merry Christmas to one & all! Continuing the Horse theme, I chose " All The Pretty Horses ". A beautiful tune, almost a lullaby. Cause it was a children's show!  ( um I think).

@sonikebt
The typist loved @Dogstoyevsky winning song "White Horses" and the TV series when she was a youngster and this reminded her of another song from her youf, The Osmonds and "Crazy Horses". Happy Christmas to you all.

@diamondbertie
How clever of you to win with On White Horses, my mind kept thinking of a famous white horse Silver, so I choose the opening credits of The Lone Ranger someone said that true intellectual is someone who can listen to the William Tell Overture without thinking of the Lone Ranger. As a child I used to watch the Lone Ranger and looked forward to it every week.

An da winner as chosen by ................. me dad ............... dus be .................. @diamondbertie Bertie. Yay! Dat is me pal you dus choosin next week the first chainy of 2017.

@terenceterrier
Larst week Megan winned wiv The King of The Swingers singed by King Louie. *finks hard* King Louis XVI woz executed in 1793 during da French Revolution. So for my linky I gonna go wiv "Children of the Revolution " by T Rex.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgcxd9wtXUE

@wotterface
Last week Megan won with a song from her favourite film so my choice this week is a song from my favourite film. From the film Labyrinth is David Bowie with Underground.

http://youtu.be/CwVqOs3Aess

@claptonterrier
Last week our winning song was from the Jungle Book and featured the crossings of King Louie…in the recent remake of the film King Louie was played by the actor Christopher Walker….and so this week our linky is his most famous musical moment which saw him appearing in the video for Fat Boy Slim’s Weapons of Choice…

@sonikebt
Louies' and monkies and swinging, Oh My! Did you know that " I Wanna Be Like You " was covered in pop, country ,and swing! Big Bad Voodoo Daddy covered it so I am really excited to chose " Mambo Swing" . Love this band. There's swinging & monkies too!

@djladylexie
Louie is the king of the swingers! Well I bet you didn't know that there was a King of Swing too! His name was Benny Goodman and he an American jazz and swing musician, clarinetist and bandleader, known as the "King of Swing". I choosing a Benny Goodman hit sing sing sing!

An da winner wot was decided by Megan .............. was .....................................Terence! Yay! Well done me pal. You dus choose next week.

Ere wot Megan said: Fank you my pal and these were some clever linkys with lots of swinging. Finally though we decided on the historical link and choose Linky No 1 which also be a great song!

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Ninety Ninth Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 299 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Bertie wiv Louis Armstrong and All The Time in the World. Let's see wot we got this week:

@sonikebt
Well done @diamondbertie for winning the chain with "We have all the time in the world" by Louis Armstrong. The video to our choice this week focuses on an hourglass showing time running out. The song is "Chocolate" by Snow Patrol,

@skye613
Aww Bertie, what a great choice. So be sticking with time this week also. Louie says we have all the time in the world. Hmmmm, so how did Paul, Kanye & Rihanna discover a new time increment? " FourFiveSeconds " Never have I heard of this!

@maggietkat
Well done Bertie! I noticed your link was to James Bond. Here is another James Bond theme by Nancy Sinatra. Louis may have said  all the time, nancy says that You Only Live Twice.

@claptonterrier
Hello Miss Lexie…last week Sir Uncle Bertie chose a song by Louis Armstrong…Mr Armsrtong, as well as being a ground-breaking trumpet player, was also the first man on the moon in 1969 and so this week our link is “Man on the Moon” by REM…

@cloonfourmegan
Last week Bertie won wiv Louis Armstrong and All The Time in the World. One of our favourite films is Jungle Book (the original not the new one) and we love King Louie (ok ok slightly different spelling) the King of the Swingers singing this.

@terenceterrier
Larst week clever Sir Uncle Bertie winned  wiv da linky "We Have All The Time In The World". Dis songy woz used in da James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". There be lotsa supa dupa songs in these movies so which wun  shall I link to? Well to be all Ying Ylang  ( or woteva) yoo will have da opposite n no time left in da werld if da sky falls in - dat woz summat dat Chicken Licken always worried abowt. So for my linky dis week I chooses da theme toon to da James Bond movie "Skyfall" wot be written n sung by Adele.

@djladylexie
Well done Bertie! We goin wiv The Temptations and Papa Was a Rolling Stone. What? How? Well Louis Armstrong was also known as Satchmo, a nickname that was shortened from Satchelmouth (because of his large mouth) by Melody Maker editor when he came to the UK. Another artist known for his big mouth is Mick Jagger. Jagger is lead singer of the Rolling Stones. The Temptations sang Papa Was A Rolling Stone. Simples!

An da winner wot was decided by dear Bertie .............. was ..................................... Megan! Yay! Well done me pal. You dus choose next week. I love dat song! Did you see the new movie Jungle Book I fort it was brilliant ... jus sayin.

Ere wot Bertie said: This has been a tough choice, I gave it a lot of thought.  The music and the reasons were all worthy in the end I settled for number five link because it makes me smile. Louis Armstrong 's mellow voice singing King of the Swingers did it for me. It was funny and in a way sad.

All the best to everyone who entered, I'm sorry you couldn't all be winners because (Ed: because? I guess we'll never know)

So now is over to you. Email me: lex[dot]dogstovesky @ gmail.com or DM me on twitter (@dogstoyevsky) wiv your link suggestion followin on from dis one! You has until 30th October 2016 (gets it to me by 2pm UK time if poss). Oh sometimes I dus accidentally delete em! Heehee.
