Lexie's Chain: The Eighty-Seventh Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 87 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Harvs and Lord Percy to choose. Last time was Homeward Bound by Simon and Garfunkins. Let's see wot happened this week!

Well done Harvs for givin da winnin linky “Homeward Bound” which is a fave songy of ours. Dis puts us in mind of the fillum “Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey” all about some pets trying to find their ownas. The sequel woz “Homeward Bound II : Lost in San Francisco”. So for my linky dis week I chooses da songy “San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair” sung by Scott McKenzie which woz one of da anthems of the Swinging Sixties wiv da Flower Power people & Happy Hippies.

Last week @BunnersAndHarvs did give us “Homeward Bound” By Simon & Garfunkel. It was ritten by Paul Simon at Widnes Railway station while waiting for train & was bowt how he wanted to return home to his girlfriend. So for my linky I choose “Sailing” by Rod Stewart which is annuvva song bowt someone making his way back to his loved one!

We does luff Simon & Garfunkel & luff dat song, but me did fink ob movie "Homeward Bound- The Incredible Journey". Now dis movie did feature Sally Field as da voice ob Sassy da cat, Sally Field did also star in da TV series "Gidget" which was based on da movie "Gidget" which did star Sandra Dee and James Darren & dat does finally bring us to me linky for dis week which does be da feme song from dis movie as sung by James Darren! Phew, dat was all around da woodshed to get here but dis is "Gidget" by James Darren.

To link from Homeward Bound, we did find out that Paul Simon wrote da song when he was feeling homesick while he was waiting at a station when he was on tour. So we fort - what might he be waiting for? The last train, of corse! So, our choice is 'Last Train to Clarksville' by The Monkees.

My link this week is Going Home by Runrig. Simple reason being that it's the song dad always listened to when he was "homeward bound" from holidays as a kid. It reminded him that while he was leaving the sunshine behind he was going back to a great place and it gave him something to look forward to on the plane.

Well done to Harv and Lord Percy, a super win for the new pairing *applaws*. My entry this week is Wherever The Trail May Lead by Tim McGraw. The song is taken from the 1963 Disney Movie: The Incredible Journey. When this film was remade in 1993 it was retitled Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. I'll always prefer the that English Bull Terrier. (I hope this link works as it's a lovely film).

Well done to the Harvs an Da Lordy Percy! Well now, the song Homeward Bound is a lovely song an is got lines in it bowt a train journey. I am sittin in a railway station got a ticket for ma destinashuns ooooo an all the singer finks bowty is getting ome and wishin they was homeward bound. May be he was unhappy wiv da places he went but I bet he wod of bin appy if he went to Marrakesh. If he did, he wod of got the Marrakesh Express, so dat ma linky. Marakkesh Express by Crosby, Stills & Nash.
